  1. Using the latest version, that behavior is not what's seen here. Only the size of the overlay window is changed, not affecting image framing or content. No zoom.
  2. The developers gave it their best with the info and clips provided and were unable to reproduce the problem.
  3. Try this version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Keep your old installer on hand, as Nat suggests. If this fails, with your project fully loaded on the timeline, click FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT. Zip the result, upload it to a free server and share a link to the file here. Full instructions: http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/
  4. But of course. And there may be other surprises ... but that's the challenge.
  5. Your wish has been granted. Install this.
  6. Install the most recent version, and test it again. https://www.nchsoftware.com/download/videopadlaunch.exe For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. However, even if not registered, the trial version will be fully featured for a limited time.
  7. Mouse over a split and right-click when the [ and ] brackets appear. You may see an UNsplit clips choice. Even if you have excised portions of the original, that clip should still be available in full in the bin (top-left).
  8. Mike, Deinterlacing was tested in 7.24 and worked well. Please upload a source file (not just the screenshot) that fails for you and someone will check it out.
  9. Set up a transparency effect curve as shown above. Click the SAVE icon on the effects window toolbar - 4th from the left. Give it a name. That creates a custom template which will be just another effect choice. Click on it whenever you want to apply that specific fade in/out timing to a clip. You can also create a template strictly for a fade out, or most any other custom effect. The only catch there is that the f applies to only the first clip in a sequence and likely would clutter the thumbs if it displayed on every clip. Perhaps right-click video options could be incorporated to mirror some of those now available for audio: FADE IN, FADE OUT and their sub categories?
  10. Just in - the latest 7.24 release, which has some key changes over 7.21.
  11. You can link it in a private message (PM). It won't be shared. Click the envelop at the top-right of this forum. There should be no clicks created in the editing process.
  12. Let others run your project, to hear what you hear. Click FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT, zip the result, upload to a server and share the link here. Full instructions... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/
  13. Reported. But you can overcome this by first adding the clip to the timeline, then applying the rotate effect and splitting.
  14. If 7.11 is doing the job the by all means stick with it! No need to revert. No doubt the issue will be corrected in upcoming versions.
  15. Hi Nat, Try the fades on an OVERLAY, not the main track, and see what you get.
  16. Reported once again. While it is being addressed, go the TRANSITION effects route, as suggested earlier. Click the Select Preset chevron, choose Fade IN and OUT, then drag the dots (keyframes) to achieve the desired fade duration. Click the blue icon squiggly line if the graph isn't visible.
  17. What home version of VP is in use? The latest is here. The best way to sleuth the issue is to share it - either with a link here or in a private message to me or a developer (PM) via the mail icon at the top-right of this forum. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ Be sure to FILE|SAVE AS a PORTABLE PROJECT, not a project file. Zip the result, upload it, share it and post the shared link.
  18. 7.23 is the latest Windows version. Save your old installer, in case you do not want to pay to license the upgrade. It is normally found in this path... "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad"
  19. Latest version is 7.23... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/versions.html For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. If you prefer to stick with 6.26, Clear Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS|DISK tab. If that doesn't help try an UNinstall, then reinstall. Look here... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html To see if something in the project itself is causing the fault, share it. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ Be sure to save it as a PORTABLE project, then zip it, upload and share the link here. Someone will check it out.
  20. File a request and/or bug report. Click at the top-right of the VP interface.
  21. Typing #s is good too. Many ways to accomplish the task. The HELP here reads "Scales (stretches or squashes) the video frame horizontally, vertically or both." In the effects preview window one of the square handle is for vertical scaling, another for horizontal, the third for both. Mouse-over to see which is which.
  22. There's no need for an 'apply' button. What you see, whether using the handles in the PV window or the sliders, is what you get. Expect some jerkiness either way, as VP recalculates. Move the mouse in small increments.
  23. Can't say, Keith, having little experience with multi-stabilized videos. Someone more knowledgeable may chip in here. Perhaps another query to NCH will lend perspective? A brief test on a single clip in another NLE didn't impress - time or quality wise. As for specs: faster is usually better as video editing is resource intensive. A gaming-type machine - I7 late gen, 16+gigs of ram and a mid-to-high end video card won't hurt (except your pocketbook).^_^
