unfortunately none of our products are yet capable of stripping audio from video (and we have no plans to implement such a feature). I believe what you are doing may be possible though, perhaps look at videohelp.com. -

Cvs and cvh file format

can't help sorry. -
We've figured out what the problem is! When you click the "Browse Folders" button in Scribe to find a folder to grab files from, on the Mac Scribe you can actually see the files in addition to the folders. But the files are greyed out, because you are only supposed to select a folder!. Once you have selected the folder, all audio files in that folder will be loaded into the Scribe load window. You can then make a choice as to what files you want to load into Scribe itself. So just to clarify, the browse folder window will only let you select a folder, and the Scribe load window is where you select the files.

with the CD in the drive try doing a File menu -> Load CD tracks, and load your track that way.

Need an audio codec? What does that mean?
nchtj replied to martiniqueeni's topic in Switch Sound Converter
Express Rip only rips audio from *proper* audio cds, it does not extract audio files listed as data on a cd. Regarding the format in question, all the formats that can be loaded into Switch are found here: http://www.nch.com.au/acm/formats.html. If your format is not listed there, we can't help sorry. -

Converting .dm to .wav
nchtj replied to a topic in Discussion about the many different audio file formats
as a general rule, formats owned by specific companies cannot be read/converted by software made by other companies, because usually the owning company wants customers to keep using their own products. Take sony and their atrac formats as an example. So you may have to contact stenovations and see if they can help you with a .wav converter. -
open the file in notepad and extract the URL from it. Paste the URL into your browser and download it. If you want to get that file into another format, Switch should be able to handle it. www.nch.com.au/switch

VOC format -- RCA recorder
nchtj replied to PESEELEY's topic in Discussion about the many different audio file formats
I think that might be a file format owned by Creative, try going to the creative website or contacting them to see if they have a converter. -
internet audio file format
nchtj replied to a topic in Discussion about the many different audio file formats
As someone who has done a thesis on an audio-related topic, I think you'll find it a valuable experience to do your own research on this issue. You should download our Switch product and then methodically go through each format using a range of quality settings from low quality to high quality. File compression ratio results are easy to examine, audio quality is a bit harder. You could do a full-blown psychoacoustic study which would take you maybe a month, or you can do something simple and just use yourself as the test subject and write results based on your own experiences. www.nch.com.au/switch I'm not sure how easy or hard it is to find information about how those sorts of formats work. Suffice it to say that if you cannot find information about a particular format in the public domain, then chances are you may not be able to find stuff at all. -
if your mp3 bitrate setting is too low that might happen. Try setting the bitrate to something higher, like CBR 96kbps or 128kbps.

well yes, dct is our format so we support it in all our products. did it not work for you when you tried it?
-
winamp is a piece of software not a file format.
-
um, I would imagine the Cubig software I referred to above does that right?

what's SD? switch can convert aac files to other formats if that's what you want to know. not iTunes files though.

we have had several reports of this problem, but we're not sure why its happening. The problem occurs specifically with users of McAfee anti-virus software - we have not received any reports of Norton anti-virus users with such a problem (or users of any other anti-virus software for that matter). Given this, it is safe to say that the problem really lies with the Mcafee software being too over-zealous in its detection of viruses. It seems that whenever our software creates audio files on your computers, the creation of the file is what triggers the problem. Why the anti-virus software is targeting audio files we have no idea, because to our knowledge formats like wave and mp3 cannot contain viruses. we might have to end up communicating with mcafee on this one, but in the meantime everyone should be assured we are not planting viruses on your computers. more information about that trojan can be found on the mcafee website here: http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_130605.htm
