  1. cda itself is not a file format, it is simply a reference to audio cd tracks - the cda files themselves do not contain any audio, that is hidden away on the cd. Use Express Rip (www.nch.com.au/rip) to rip the audio off the cd. Use WavePad (www.nch.com.au/wavepad) to edit the ripped files. Use Express Burn (www.nch.com.au/burn) to burn the files in "Audio CD" mode onto a blank disc.
  2. See if you can load it in Switch (www.nch.com.au/switch) and convert it to a wav file using a different codec such as PCM.
  3. We don't support them no, that is certainly interesting that Switch even tried to decode them. I think that format might be proprietary, so if Audible cannot give you a converter than its unlikely anyone else will.
  4. are you positive the audio file is not corrupt? The fact that you can't play it in media player or winamp suggests that it is corrupt, and thus you will not have any luck playing the file at all
  5. oma is a copy-protected format, it will let you convert the first minute of the file only as part of the protection system.
  6. reinstall the software perhaps? what wave codec settings did you record the file with?
  7. does renaming the file extension to .ra make a difference?
  8. If renaming the file extension to .ra doesn't work then I don't think you can use our software to convert those files.
  9. not only have I not heard of that format, I unfortunately have no suggestions for you.
  10. if the files are in a protected format as you say, chances are switch won't be able to convert them.
  11. see here: http://www.nch.com.au/acm/support.html#ITUNES
  12. try renaming the extension to .raw and load it again in switch. When you go to convert it and it prompts you for format settings, select the 16bit PCM LE format, and then whatever sample rate and number of channels the audio file is (probably 44100Hz sample rate, and 2 channels).
  13. what format are the music files? what format are you converting to?
  14. use Express Rip instead of Switch www.nch.com.au/rip
  15. no sorry switch cannot do that.
  16. It has been tested and works with asf audio-only files. asf audio/video files have not been tested as of yet so we cannot say if it works or not.
  17. Switch supports that right now! Check you have the latest version installed.
  18. yes, download Express Burn here: www.nch.com.au/burn and burn your files in "Audio CD" mode. Note that you will probably need to burn to a CD-R disk, because most car CD players cannot read CD-RW disks.
  19. If the file is a long file (time-wise), then the decoder may take some time to decode the file before converting it. If you leave it for say 5 minutes, see if anything different happens.
  20. there are no plans for that sorry. We will only be using LAME to encode mp3s and not mp3pro, because it is a proprietary format (and LAME is free).
  21. if you are saying the sound quality of the converted file is not as good as the original file, it means the encoder settings you are using are too low. I don't know what format you are converting to, but if you make sure that the format is selected at the bottom of the switch window and click on the encoder settings button, try increasing the settings to higher numbers and see if there is an improvement.
