  1. unfortunately some of the underlying issues are due to the sony plugin not supporting every recorder out there. I would ask if you first confirm with sony that your recorder is supported by the latest version of the sony plugin. as a general rule, if it doesn't play in media player, you won't be able to get anything else to play it, because its the plugin that is the issue not the player.
  2. yeah sorry we don't support anything greater than 16-bit audio at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't too many apps that did support 24-bit audio editing.
  3. we don't support the asx streaming format. you would have to manually open the asx file in notepad and then grab the link to the audio file that is contained inside. The URL will be split up in a couple of different places, but everything you need to get a working URL is there. Once the URL is constructed, you can now simply paste the link into your web browser and download the file.
  4. First off, just for clarification, Express Scribe for Mac only supports mp3, dct, wav and aiff. What happens when you load files of the above formats? Do you get an error message? Does the program do anything?
  5. probably not, I am not even familiar with the wax file format. actually, I just looked it up and it appears to be a streaming format. The only streaming format supported by our software currently is real media streaming.
  6. unfortunately sony don't support dvf files from every one of their recorders, not sure why. You would have to contact them and verify that your recorder is compatible with the sony dvf plugin.
  7. haven't heard of the format before...but then there are as many formats in existence as there are stars in the sky.... when you burned the cd, it seems like you were burning in data mode and not audio cd mode, what happens when you burn in audio mode?
  8. can you play audio cds through windows media player? is the CD a proper audio cd? (are the files in cda format or in some other format?)
  9. asx isn't actually audio itself, its just a text file linking to an asf audio file (usually on the web). You will have to open the file in notepad and look for the weblink and then see if you can download the asf file. After that, Switch should handle conversions from asf fine.
  10. its probably due to the file not being a "proper" mpeg3 layer 3 file, its probably an mpeg2 or 2.5 layer 3 with an .mp3 extension. You can guess if it is from noticing if your files have very low bitrates and sample rates (that mp3 usually doesn't support).
  11. sure, my best suggestion would be to contact olympus and ask them for a dss converter.
  12. sorry, but that's not something we can assist with.
  13. its possible there are issues with the plugin and Win98 that we don't know about. We are happy to accept sample files to try anyway, so if is ok then please send me your dvf file to [] and I will see if I can play it or not.
  14. those settings are wave format settings, so if you first convert from your wav file to another wav file using those settings, then you will able to convert to au using the new wav file.
  15. not a bad request, we'll certainly have a think about it.
  16. try installing real player 10 (I believe that's the latest), and see if that makes a difference.
  17. err, sorry switch would not say any such thing about ape, because the word "ape" has not been programmed into the switch code anywhere. What is the exact error message?
  18. dss is an olympus proprietary format, we don't support it (because olympus doesn't allow it). please read our file formats page, I can see you haven't done that yet. http://www.nch.com.au/acm/formats.html
  19. Well, assuming m4a and mp4 are the same file format (which I believe they are), I just created an m4a file in switch, and changed the extension to mp4, and it still worked perfectly fine. You're using the wrong product anyway, you should be using Express Burn (www.nch.com.au/burn), and setting it to Audio CD mode, adding your files in, and hitting the Burn button. Conversion to the audio cd file format is done on the fly.
  20. We have created some RealJukebox files ourselves, and experimented with this. Renaming the .rmj files to .ra or .rm DOES work using Switch, but the issue is that the decoding of the file takes as long as the audio file is. For example, if the audio is 5 mins. long, the Switch decoder will take 5 mins to decode it. This problem is not caused by Switch itself, but rather is a problem with the .rmj format. I suggest you do not use RealJukebox anyway to extract audio from audio cds, use our Express Rip product instead: www.nch.com.au/rip you can save to mp3 directly, which of course will save you a lot of hassle.

    distortion

try using the amplify effect to lower the volume of the sound.
  22. this is indeed odd, I have not seen or heard this problem before. Do you have this problem with all wma files or just some? What about other types of audio files?
