  1. If it's purchased then it's likely to be copy-protected. See the wma blurb on the page here: http://www.nch.com.au/acm/support.html
  2. Hi, If you have installed a codec for g.726, you should be able to play it in either Media Player or Switch. If not, it appears the codec may only work for a specific program or application.
  3. whats the song format? what happens when you load it in WavePad?
  4. winamp might be able to, see if there is any support for it on their site.
  5. Try downloading the LAME codec and see if that helps. http://www.rarewares.org/files/mp3/lame-3.92-ACM.zip Extract the files, and right-click on the .inf file and select "Install".
  6. If you are willing to do this, you can attach your file here and we will examine your flac file and see what is wrong with it. Just hit reply and attach your file.
  7. Is your DirectX up to date? Goto Start -> Run -> type "dxdiag". Make sure it say you have DirectX 9.0c. If not, go to www.windowsupdate.com and download it.
  8. Try downloading the LAME codec and see if that helps. http://www.rarewares.org/files/mp3/lame-3.92-ACM.zip Extract the files, and right-click on the .inf file and select "Install".
  9. Here is an extract I have added to the help documentation for the next release of Express Rip: If Express Rip does not detect any tracks on your CD, or the tracks have strange looking names, please verify your audio CD files have a .cda file extension. If they do not, then Express Rip will not be able to properly read the audio files. In such situations, it is likely the files are stored as data on your CD, so you should be able to use Windows Explorer to copy and paste the files from the CD to your hard drive. Also, you cannot run Express Rip in Restricted User mode due to limitations in how Windows deals with CD drives.

    Express RIP

Due to limitations in how Windows handles CD drives, Express Rip (and other CD ripper applications) cannot be run in restricted mode.
  11. What happened last week? What happens when you go to load/delete a file?
  12. Switch re-encodes the file, but there is no normalization of the sound (i.e. changing of the volume levels).
  13. Switch doesn't give any feedback on whether the command line is valid or not. To our knowledge, non command-line applications don't seem to have the ability to send data to the command-line. Further investigation is being carried out though. About your command line problem, my suggestion would be to put the -convert flag at the very end and see if that works or not. Also put the -hide flag at the start just after the switch.exe bit. We are working on improving the command line to the point where you won't have to worry about ordering the options correctly. There is unlikely to be any command line blocking or feedback though (Switch is not a command line tool and therefore cannot behave like one).
  14. nope there's no restriction to how much of a file can be converted. This problem is about something else. Try opening the vox file in wavepad and see if wavepad can read the entire file. www.nch.com.au/wavepad

    FreeDB

err, what product are you talking about? freedb is being integrated into Switch, but that version hasn't been released yet.

  17. http://www.nch.com.au/acm/support.html In addition to that information, check that you have the latest DirectX installed. Go to Start -> Run -> type "dxdiag" and verify that it says your version is DirectX 9.0c.
  18. The difference between Switch and Switch Plus is written in the Switch help documentation. Look in the "general usage" section for example, and you will see bits that say "Plus version only" or "Switch Plus version only". Switch Plus disables after 14 days because its a commercial product, Switch (non-plus) is free though.
  19. can't help sorry. You're probably not the only person with this problem, but I think you are looking in the wrong place. Try asking Sharp perhaps?
