  1. oma files are atrac3 copy-protected files. You cannot convert these files directly into other formats.

    convert

see here for the answer to your question: http://www.nch.com.au/acm/support.html#ITUNES
  3. believe it or not, there is no restriction in switch that only allows you to add 1 file at a time. If you click on the "add" button to add files, you can just drag a box around all the files you want to add in the window that appears. If you want to add a folder, you can also simply drag and drop the folder onto the switch window and all the files in the folder will be loaded.
  4. the 4bit adpcm support I believe is native to windows, and is not something introduced by our software (we just incorporate it). If you can find a 3 bit acm codec and install that, then you can use switch to convert to that format. Otherwise you are out of luck sorry.
  5. I would have thought that that website only sold files in mp3 format, given its name, but I guess that's not the case... since wma is a microsoft format, you will be able to open any wma file in media player as long as the file is not corrupt in some way. the link to the sample wma works now if you want to try it again though. are you sure the file is not DRM-ed? when you click on file -> properties -> license tab in windows media player, does it say anything at all?
  6. As you have suspected, you can't convert midi files with our software. If you have lots of patience and you really want to do it, you can always download RecordPad (http://www.nch.com.au/recordpad/index.html) and record the midi files as they are playing.
  7. Assuming the Sony codec installed ok, then if you cannot play the file in Media Player then it is possible it's corrupt in some way. I don't know anything about the Grundig MP3 player, but are you able to use it to save files to your computer in mp3 format instead of dvf?
  8. Both Wavepad and Switch use DirectX to open wma files, so it appears updating DirectX has fixed your problem, good to know. Our products cannot save files as wma files sorry.
  9. Try changing the file extension to .ra and load it in Switch and see if converting to mp3 works. http://www.nch.com.au/switch/index.html
  10. Switch doesn't strictly support the .rm format because it is used for both video and audio. If the file you are trying to convert is audio only, try renaming the extension to .ra and load it again in Switch and see if it works.
  11. For others who are interested, the file format referred to here is the Audible Audio Book format with the file extension ".aa". Unfortunately Switch does not support this format, but we are certainly happy to investigate if support is possible.
  12. First check that you are using the latest version of Switch (1.04). Next, check to see if your wma conversion question is covered on the following page: http://www.nch.com.au/acm/support.html If that doesn't help, feel free to post back.
  13. The message you got in the free version doesn't say that Switch expired, it is simply a prompt asking if you would like to upgrade to Switch Plus. It only appears once after using Switch for 14 days and doesn't appear again. I have just tried now to do a DSS -> WAV conversion before and after the message was given and it worked fine on both occassions. Are your DSS files recorded in SP mode or LP mode? Switch doesn't support LP mode. Also, are you using the latest version of Switch? (1.04)
  14. Do you have the latest version of Switch? (1.04) Do those RealAudio files open and play fine in RealPlayer?
  15. Your question is answered here: http://www.nch.com.au/acm/support.html see the problem called "iTunes/aac/m4p files do not load properly".

    .kar

We don't explicitly support .kar files. If you open Switch and click the "Add" button, the dialog that opens up tells you what formats Switch explicitly supports (see the "Files of type" list near the bottom of that window). We let people load formats we don't explicitly support and simply pass those formats onto the Windows decoder, in the off chance that Windows can handle the format. It's never guaranteed though.
  17. sure! send it to nch@nch.com.au. We're certainly happy to have a look at it, but we can never promise anything. In the meantime you may just have to do a conversion to wav and then another conversion to mp3.
  18. For .cda files you need to use Express Rip to convert them to other formats. http://www.nch.com.au/rip/index.html
  19. I initally had this problem myself, and I discovered that I had to restart my computer before I could get the Sony codec to work. See if restarting helps for you too. If you can get the file to play in Media Player then it should work fine in Switch.
  20. have you tried downloading the latest Switch (1.04)? It has a few bugfixes for problems that we found in 1.03, so perhaps you might have better luck with it.
  21. .cda files are found on music cds, so to convert them to mp3 you will need Express Rip. http://www.nch.com.au/rip/index.html
  22. In Windows Explorer go to the folder C:\Program Files\NCH Swift Sound\Switch and double-click on the file "uninst.exe"
  23. did you download the new version of switch released yesterday? is your question answered here? http://www.nch.com.au/acm/support.html
  24. I guess I should first of all clarify that Switch does not intentionally only convert part of a file in order to encourage you to buy the Plus version. There is certainly something going on here. I did some reading on the .oma / .omg formats and I believe they are copy-protected formats, meaning you cannot directly convert these files into other formats (and I guess the fact that you couldn't convert the whole file supports this claim). see more info in another thread here: http://nch.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=31
