Be sure that Elgato drivers are up to date. Disconnect it and reboot. Open Videopad to the RECORD page. Now connect Elgato and see if it is fully recognized. The easiest way to accomplish this may be as suggested above: let Elgato create a file, then load it into VP or Express Burn. Quality shouldn't suffer.

VP isn't the problem; there are two tracks and Videopad prompts for which to load. But the first is silent - even in a media player. Narration is on the second channel. Create the MKV again, complete with game audio. When it's added, chose channel 1, then drop the clip from the bin onto the timeline. RE-import the same file, but this time chose channel 2, and OVERLAY it just below the other clip. Now you have two channels mixed, and can control the volume, effects and muting of each independently. Once you have a complete MKV file, upload it again here and someone will check it out.

Create the text scroll with a blank space for 'Mario.' Then size and animate an image to match the text movement and placement. The individual length of both image and text clips affects scroll speed. And for the image animation, the horizontal distance between the keyframes (dots) also determines scroll speed. A 1080 re-encode in W11 at default settings produces a 108MB file. Be sure to use the same VP version for the W7/W10 comparisons.

No W7 here. But W10 and 11 produced a 257MB 4K file from your 4K original when using the LOSSLESS button on the toolbar.

Good to hear. If you purchased within the past six months, it should be registered, or be able to be registered via the File | REGISTRATION menu. Though it's beta at this writing, it should soon appear as the released version. There's no mandate to update constantly if what you have is working well. But new releases can always be test driven. Just retain your licensing info.
