  1. ASS isn't currently supported, but may be in the future. But it's easy to convert to a usable file type. See https://subtitletools.com/convert-to-srt-online or try https://gotranscript.com/subtitle-converter and covert to SSA or VTT Load the converted file into Videopad. You may have to make adjustments to font, sizing, etc.
  2. Odd. There have been no other reports of transition problems with version 10.96. But ... whatever succeeds. Feel no pressure to use a newer version if the current one is working well. The latest can be test driven to see what's new. It may be best to wait, should issues arise.
  3. HELP is okay now. Click the FX button on any clip, or EFFECTS in the toolbar, to open the effects window. Choose an effect and experiment with what it does. For example, the POSITION effect ... move the sliders or drag the image in the PV window. Or the SPLIT-SCREEN effect... assign a clip on track 1 to the A side and a clip that's just above track one on track 2 to the B side. They will display side-by-side. Click to enlarge. When done with your adjustments, delete the effect.
  4. Temporary effects that will allow viewing of multiple tracks at once in the Sequence preview window... Add the TRANSPARENCY effect to the upper track. Use the SPLIT effect (horizontal 2), with one track on the A side and the other on B. Use the POSITION effect to do the same.
  5. As Nat noted, some older versions had a bug that affected some transitions. What Videopad version is being used? Install the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  6. This has been fixed in the 11.08 release. Keep in mind that this is a test build, which may have undiscovered issues. Give it a try.
  7. For a project this lengthy it's best to use the VP 64-bit version. If the OFF (Re-encode) test doesn't work for you install this version and export losslessly. A confirmed bug that will be fixed in the next release.
  8. Try this. In the export window, click the blue Default Quality/Filesize link and choose OFF (Re-encode). Export once again. Any change?
  9. What are the file type/s of these videos: mp4, MOV, AVI? What version of Videopad is being used? To let others see what you see please share the project. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  10. When a clip end is trimmed, the excess doesn't land on the cutting room floor. Instead, VP is told to end the clip there, but the video (your hand) remains. If a transition is made at that point, there must be video to accommodate it...so the hand will reappear during the transition. This is normal. (The same principle applies if a clip is trimmed at its start. Video that precedes the cut remains and would be used if a transition were programmed there.) To make this work, right-click the sequence preview window and take a snapshot (still frame) just before the hand appears. The clip appears in the Images bin. Tack it onto the end of the moving video. Drag the handles to adjust its length. Here's an example where the koala (followed by an unwanted, deleted scene) has been extended with the snapshot. Then a transition was programmed from clip 2 to clip 3. The length of the transition will also affect the 'look.'
  11. Use the circle MASK effect... In your case the singer will be on track 1 and the masked sky background clip placed just above on track 2. Add a TRANSPARENCY effect to track 2, and set it to zero (opaque). This allows the singer to be seen in the masked area. Here's an example of an INSIDE mask. The dog is your singer. 😄
  12. It may be possible. Lay out specifics on how many clips there are and the look you want.
  13. Higher tracks take precedence over lower. If a full-screen image is on track 1 and another immediately above it on track 2 only track 2 will be seen. To merge them try picture-in-picture - scaling the track 2 image down to make it smaller to allow track one to show in the background. If the image on track 2 has high contrast, chromakey (green screen) effect can be used to remove its background, with a result like this... If instead the TRANSPARENCY effect is applied to track 2, the two tracks will be blended together but neither will be at their full video level. If this isn't what you want, describe the result you're aiming for in more detail.
  14. Unable to replicate that here in 11.06. Color curve settings stick. Share a clip that does this and someone will take a look... Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view." Normal... Adjusted... Two things that might cause this are clicking the X in the effects box, which will cancel the effect... And forgetting to SAVE.
  15. This bug occurs when your file is adjacent to any other video. It's never before been reported and apparently happens only with files from the Canon 70D DSLR. It will be fixed. In the interim, two things you can do to overcome it... Convert your files to mp4 with this utility or PRISM. Or use this VP version with the original files.
  16. What Videopad version is being used? Not seeing that issue with the latest release. Give it a try. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  17. On the export screen, click the blue Default Quality / Filesize link and choose Off (re-encode video)

MATCH MONITOR should closely resemble the export.... Aspect ratio adjustments can be made on each clip. From the effects window, try these... And, when exporting, STRETCH or CROP and ZOOM may do the job. Share your project. Someone will take a look and make suggestions. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. 19. Be sure it's the 64-bit release. Lower resolution may be the most effective means to cut down on export time. Quality and frames-per-second settings are worth a look. Experiment. If you'd like a comparison, make the effort to upload your movie project to a free server. Indicate what MKV settings were used for export. Someone will check. 20. Looks and exports are still fine in the latest version. Try some of the older Videopad versions. Perhaps one from a few years back will succeed for you. If it does, consider applying the NORMALIZE audio effect to both tracks.
  21. You can always test drive the latest - even if it's not licensed most features will be available. Retain your old installer and registration. Let's see what you're working with. That's the best way to pin down issues like this. Share your project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... 22. Give it a go on another PC - preferably one with a newer operating system.
  23. The link specs are suggestions on video editing requirements. Many lesser systems run VP just fine.
  24. Open the Windows Mixer by right-clicking the speaker icon at the bottom-right of the screen. Is the Videopad slider turned up and not muted?
  25. For simple projects - few effects and not lengthy - Videopad runs well even on basic PCs. What are your PC's specs: RAM/GPU/CPU? For more complex and length efforts, the 11.05 64-bit version is best. Video editing is resource intensive; here are suggestions... https://www.promax.com/blog/what-specs-do-i-need-for-video-editing With that version - 32-or 64-bit - MTS file sync seems spot on here. Sharing your file is the best way to get help. Just follow the instructions above.
