  1. Follow through on that form ... https://www.nch.com.au/support/regcontact.html. The company will work with you to see that you are treated fairly.
  2. When you input the 13-digit registration info it should prompt to get the actual code, which looks like this... 6052080-abcdefgh THAT'S the code the goes in the box when clicking Menu | Register Videopad If the issue persists, take the next step... https://www.nch.com.au/support/regcontact.html
  3. Your file is 1:5, despite the fact that VP reports it as 3:2. If you want it to fill the 16:9 screen while editing use the Crop to Aspect Ratio A/R transform effect... You may lose a bit of the BG but it will be the same size as the 16:9 overlay. Export can be done at default Letterbox settings.
  4. Thanks for sharing. Tests on the first minute of your project confirm that H265 exported bitrates are not what they were earlier. In 11.26 (64-bit), 30000 failed. High quality resulted in 6394Kb/s. In the 32-bit version 30000 succeeded, at 677Kb/s In versions 8.45 and 10.21 the result at 30000 was 14.1Mb/s This info has been forwarded to the developers.
  5. The blue normally occurs when the cursor line is dragged, but what you likely did was click the cursor, then held <shift> while clicking later in an unused track area. That will invoke the blue line and move the cursor to its end. This is a different kind of selection. Right-click in the blue area to see the available options.
  6. If clips have linked audio and video, usually the case, inserting between them will shift clips at the right of the insertion to the right and leave a gap - to maintain sync. If that's not desirable, right-click the clips and UNlink them. If audio isn't linked, as with a separate music track, sync may be no problem. To move a block of clips without grouping, select them all. Click (select) the first. Hold down <shift> and click the last. Now drag them to the right. UNlinked audio won't be affected, but both A/V will move if the clips are linked. The way snapping is handled in VP has changed through the years. You can try holding down <shift> or <alt> while dragging, to see if that affects the behavior of your version.
  7. Moving the files won't change them. But if VP didn't request a RESOLVE then it knew where to find them. So that's not the problem. DO update the program, reload and see what happens. If still crazy, please submit the project per the above instructions.
  8. Please share one of your videos and someone will check it out. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  9. When a project is saved, it will restore exactly as it was. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. When restoring a saved project, if files are missing it will prompt to find them. Click on RESOLVE, and locate the file. Never move or delete files until the project is complete. You can save a portable project by clicking the Menu (top-left), then FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS. This will create a folder with all source files and the VPJ control file. Without seeing the project it's tough to speculate what is occurring. Do update to the latest, and please share your work. Follow these steps, one-by-one... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  10. The two different aspect ratios are causing the problem. If your overlay is 1.777 (16:9), it will be wider than the 1:5 background image unless scaled down. If you want the width of the overlay to be the same as the background, do a simple left/right crop of the overlay and export at default letterbox settings... If you prefer a full frame, don't crop but instead export with the CROP & ZOOM setting...
  11. You have stumbled upon an old previously undiscovered bug. Here's a workaround. The steps... 1. Place the bird clip on track one. 2. Keyframe the TRANSPARENCY effect to begin at zero and end at 52. 3. Overlay the same clip just above on track two. 4. Create a mask, position it, UNcheck the "Mask inside" box 5. Add the TRANSPARENCY effect and set opacity to zero. Stay tuned to this thread for word of the fix. If you run into other issues please begin a new thread.
  12. PV reflects the change here, Use the dual window mode, to see the changes in the sequence window. Click the TRANSPARENCY blue bar in effects if necessary.
  13. Text at the top indicates the licensing status. If not licensed, chances are it will prompt to either purchase or confirm home use each time it's launched.
  14. True. Don't let it bother you - that's the released version.
  15. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. That way you're protected.; double-clicking the VPJ file will load the project. Close and reopen Videopad without loading the project. Click OPTONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Close and reopen again and load the project. If no joy, install the latest release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Still having problems? Share the project and someone here will check out the issue. Just follow this, step-by-step... 16. It's officially released... 64-bit https://www.nchsoftware.com/download/videopadsetup64.exe 32-bit https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/vppsetup.exe
  17. Understand that the video can be shared privately via the Personal Messenger. Click the envelope at the top right of this forum and search for borate. No one else will see your work. But the 11.26 update may solve this issue. Good luck!
  18. To offer a suggestion, we must see what you're working on - per the upload and sharing instructions - even if the project isn't complete. But first, use this link to upgrade to 11.26, which is the latest.
  19. What version? Did you update, per the instructions in the other thread? Share your project, as mentioned, and we'll get to the bottom of this. 20. Clicking the Menu (top-left), then HELP | ABOUT VIDEOPAD will show the version #. THIS ONE is a link to the latest English Windows version. Click it. Save it. Install it. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. There's no need to upgrade if what you have is working well. New releases can always be test driven, licensed or not. Registering the newest would be inputting your purchase registration code info. (The Videopad window will say "licensed" or "unlicensed" at the top.) So, try the latest version. If it doesn't solve the issue just follow these steps carefully, one-by-one, to share the project. Someone will help you... 21. Several approaches... Use the ||< and >|| buttons to place the cursor at the new insertion split point. Then right-click the new clip in the bin (top-right) and Place on Sequence at Cursor. Or click the first clip to be moved later, hold down <shift> and click the last. Then drag the clips to the right, leaving a gap into which new content can be dropped. To close any gaps, right-clip them and CLOSE GAP. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
  22. A developer checked out the file and suspects that the problem is a broken sound stream. Yet some, but not all, media players are apparently able to handle it. Next capture, experiment with higher quality settings.
