  1. The six-month update period applies to all licensed versions. But if a user reported bug is confirmed NCH usually issues a license extension. You should have been a beneficiary of that policy unless, perhaps, you very recently purchased or upgraded. Install the latest 64-bit release. MTS issues seem to have been resolved. If you run into one, please post your file or project here so it can be analyzed. If you prefer your 6.0 version, disconnect from the Net before attempting an install. It may then succeed. Of course, you can install any version released prior to end of license period. Or test drive later unlicensed versions.
  2. Click the chevron at the top-right of the VP window and Make a Suggestion. Auto tune is available in several closely related applications. Look here... https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=Wavepad+auto+tune
  3. Click this link for the latest 64-bit version. We'll be awaiting the project. If using Google Drive, remember to make the link public - not restricted. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. That way, you are protected.
  4. You are using Videopad? What version? Look at the bottom-left corner of the window. Install the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Specifically, what are you referring to by "lower and upper boxes?" Storyboard mode looks like this... Above - is the bin window (top-left) where clips are imported, and the preview window that displays playback. There should be no way the clips can rearrange themselves. Please share your project so someone here can take a look. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  5. Video editing is resource intensive, and a gaming class PC is recommended for lengthy, hi-def or complex projects. Use the 64-bit version. Your thought is a good one: Save sequence one, restart VP, Clear Unused Cache Files (OPTIONS | DISK tab), then build sequence two. Later, import sequence one. Working on a specific sequence doesn't 'unload' the others. Another approach, if necessary, is to break up a project into several parts, export each, then import and assemble them for the final export.
  6. What is the resolution of the mp4 files, on average? Have you tested the 64-bit version? If you take a few minutes to share the five-minute project someone here will check it out. The process isn't difficult and can be private.
  7. Not normal, or reported. What are your PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM? What format are the files that freeze? How long is the project? Prior to beginning a project, click OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. This can also be done during editing to clear unused files. When loading a project, or files, allow it to fully cache. The green line above all video file thumbnails should complete. As changes are made to a clip, there may be some re-caching, but that should take only seconds. If yours is a complex or lengthy project, or uses high resolution large files, install the 64-bit version.
  8. Locks it, so changes cannot be made to the track. If either the audio or the video track of an A/V linked clip is locked, both will be locked.
  9. If you haven't changed that path in OPTIONS | DISK tab, these are the defaults... Use Windows Explorer (the file manager) to confirm that's where they are.
  10. Glad it works. But activating scrubbing shouldn't be necessary for normal audio. It isn't here, using the current release.
  11. In the current release, after clicking the chevron at the far-left so it points downward, right-click in the space at the left of an audio track and EXPAND TRACK. Drag the line between the A&V tracks up if you need more space. Recordings benefit from normalizing, which in general increases their audio level without overdriving. If clips are already at optimal gain they won't be changed. Annoyingly low volume is common on YouTube videos, forcing the listener to fiddle with their player controls. If begun with a clean cache and checked under OPTIONS | MEDIA, subsequent loads will be normalized. SYNC AUDIO lines up tracks, provided both have identical audio, as shown in a video earlier in this thread. But dragging certainly does the job.
  12. PC specs? CPU/GPU/Ram. Right-click in the area to the left of the audio track and confirm that it isn't shown as muted Try this next. Close Videopad. Using Windows Explorer (file manager), delete all files in these folders... "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components" "C:\Users\<account name>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components" Now reinstall Videopad.
  13. Expected. Changes made to files copied to Videopad are non destructive and do not affect the source files on the drive.
  14. Update to this version. Let us know. What are the PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM?
  15. Sounds (excuse the pun) as if the Windows volume slider for Videopad is turned down or muted. Launch Videopad. Right-click on the 'speaker' icon at the bottom-right of the Windows screen and click on Open Volume Mixer. In Windows 11 that looks like...
  16. A skinny waveform means that the file audio level is low. But improved normalization in the current version may help. Here's a file with 50% audio. It was imported into Videopad with the Automatically Normalize External box UNchecked under the OPTIONS | MEDIA tab... With the box checked... To get this result, restart VP. Before loading anything, clear the cache under OPTIONS | DISK tab. Restart VP, then import files. Leave the box active.
  17. Again, upload a few files, and test the linked version suggested above. There should be no need to run as administrator, but try installing as admin.
  18. No blur here. In the video below note that two tracks with similar audio have been offset from one another. Watch what happens when SYNC AUDIO is applied. Sync_audio.mp4
  19. Very peculiar. Upload a file or two with the issue and we'll take a look. See if this version behaves differently. Confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are up to date... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html
  20. Right-click on VP audio track. May not be available in all versions. Try the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  21. Didn't spot that option under "add objects" in versions back to 10.21. To bring up the Clip Art choice right-click an open area in the BIN. Or click the Menu, then... No crash seen here on arrows. Confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are current... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html
  22. There's have been recent changes in the ability to expand audio waveforms. See page two in this thread. A right-click on the audio track offers the SYNC AUDIO option. Try it. See an example here, a few posts later.
  23. To post a link to a screen shot, upload the image to a free server - then get a link and paste it here. Your issue is unusual and not reported by others. It hints that the install may be corrupted. Try this next... Close Videopad. Using Windows Explorer (file manager), delete all files in these folders... "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components" "C:\Users\<account name>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components" Now reinstall Videopad. If still no success, please share a file or two that has the issue. Someone will check it out. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  24. Install this version. If problems persist come back here.
