  1. Your "loss of one channel" audio was a verified bug. As is NCH policy, you should receive a gratis licensing period to compensate for your trouble. This can take some time to work its way through channels, so be patient. In the interim, any newer version can be used without licensing. During the trial period, most features should be available, and in recent releases the bug is fixed. When you do decide to go with a newer release you should not have to pay full price. Upgrades for licensed users are discounted.
  2. Stereo to MONO and non-stick feathering issues have been resolved in beta version 11.28.
  3. Did you delete the files and reinstall as suggested above? Share your project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server. Studio.mp4
  4. That's why it's wise to give new versions a workout. Under-the-hood improvements may not be initially apparent. For example: rendering/exporting speed enhancements over the years, owing to GPU utilization. Or the 64-bit releases, which can better handle large, complex projects.
  5. Only you can decide. Newer versions can be test driven whether licensed or not. Just retain your old installer and registration info. There's no mandate to upgrade, and it can be wise to hold off for a time to see if quirks surface. 10.96 was a good build - so is 11.26. Each time a release is installed (no need to re-download) there may be slightly different features, such as specific effect templates.
  6. Image Effects should be fine, as shown below. Works here with your overlay, whether the effects dialog is summoned via Image or Video Effects. Are you saying that the effects box does not appear? Did you delete the files and reinstall as suggested above? Record_2022_03_03_06_14_52_263.mp4
  7. What version of Videopad is being used? Look at the bottom-left of the screen. Update to the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. In Effects, try applying the Letterbox or Crop A/R transform to the clip... Note the many drop-down box presets. If that doesn't help, someone here will ... if you make the effort to share your project. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... 8. Right-click on the In the Studio overlay. The Effect choice should appear on the drop-down menu. Or expand the timeline with the slider at the bottom-right until the FX appears in the clip thumbnail. The reason that it's changed is likely because you have added content to the project, which has compressed the sequence display.
  9. One more thing to try before abandoning ship... Close Videopad. Use Windows Explorer (the file manager) to delete all files in these folders... "C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components" "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components" (or files may be in a similar path without the x86) Reinstall the latest VP release. Good luck.
  10. Perhaps we're missing something here, but your PNG is no different than any other. When placed on the sequence, the FX box brings up the effects window. Or a right-click on the bin clip, prior to adding it to the sequence, will offer the Effects choice. Untitled.mp4
  11. What release is being used? Look at the bottom-left of the Videopad window. Update to this version and see if that fixes it. If not, come back here. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  12. Peculiar. Did you reinstall? What version is this ... look at the left-bottom corner of the window. Let's see the image. Please share a file or two that has the issue. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view." Update to the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  13. Here are the specs for lossless processing. Apparently the specific material in this project is being misread by the "auto" feature, or perhaps your version has a bug? Glad it worked out. Purchase the program and enjoy more features.
  14. It shouldn't change if you reinstall. But no guarantees. Before you attempt that be sure that when you export it's re-encoding. Click the blue Default Quality / Filesize link. In the Lossless Export field choose OFF (Re-encode) if that choice is available. A newer release might solve the issue. Try either the free one linked earlier, or the trial. It should be full-featured for a short amount of time.
  15. Click the link above for the free version, which enables basic features. If mp4 export isn't available try AVI. Or try reinstalling 6. It should be working.
  16. Yes, very old. New free versions are available. Of course, certain features won't be ... unless licensed.
  17. There are several methods for applying effects... Select a clip in the bin (top-left of the window). Click the Video Effects button on the Home toolbar. This adds the effect to the clip, which then can be dropped to the sequence. Or right-click on the bin clip and choose Video Effects. If already on the sequence, click the FX icon in the corner of the clip to bring up the effects box. Effects added in that manner don't affect the bin clip. If you don't see the FX, expand the timeline with the slider at the bottom-right of the screen. If neither of these methods succeeds, reboot and perhaps reinstall the program; something may be corrupt.
  18. The Debut mention has been passed along, thanks. Take an option suggested in the linked post. For best continuity on this issue please stick with that thread. Check in there from time to time to see if there are new developments.
  19. That's being looked into. See https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/39023-bit-rate-problem/#comment-104353 Several options are suggested in that thread. Is yours a paid or unlicensed version?
  20. Your frustration is understandable. The software is really quite good. That's not to apologize for glitches that do crop up ... and are quickly dealt with when discovered. Folks here are primarily helpful users, not NCH staffers, who volunteer their time to aid other users. From your description, above, perhaps there was a corrupt file? But, again, without seeing what you're working with it's tough to say. Good luck.
  21. You could, but that might be insufficient. Please submit the entire project. And please stick with this one thread, so the conversation will not be fragmented. Seeing your work will help YOU fix the issue. Never have we seen [x] Yes, render the video destroyed. The software may not be at fault. You have not stated whether you are now using the latest release. Folks here are standing by to help you if you meet them halfway.
  22. Seeing your work will help YOU fix the issue. Never have we seen [x] Yes, render the video destroyed. The software may not be at fault. You have not stated whether you are now using the latest release. You have not submitted the project for analysis. It would be best to upload the entire project. Folks here are standing by to help you if you meet them halfway.
  23. Once again. Upload and share the project. Videopad works well for most folks, and a complaint similar to yours hasn't been registered lately. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  24. Without seeing your project, symptoms are too general for other than guesses. Folks here will help you if you take time to upload as instructed in your other threads. Then we can see exactly what you are seeing, and recommend solutions. Did you update to the current release? Nothing of your project will be lost if it's backed up routinely. Save Project File AS, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Many issues are due to user unfamiliarity. Others can be dealt with. For refund info check here.
  25. Suggestions for now... *Use H264; it's faster than H265 and results look fine. *Try the MPEG4 encoder, which produces comparable results to H265 (IMO) and takes advantage of fast GPU encoding. Here are comparative results on the one-minute excerpt from your project... H265 @ 30000 102Mb file size; 14.1Mb/s bitrate (using version 10.21) MPEG4 @ average quality - 108Mb file size; 15Mb/s bitrate (using version 11.22) *Revert to this older version when H265 bitrates were high. No time frame for the fix, but the issue is being pursued, so stay tuned to this thread for future developments.
