  1. Whatever works best for you. The latest isn't always the greatest. V11.32 wasn't available, but ran a 4K, 25000kbps test with 11.34 (32) on the same project. It finished in 4:52, with similar GPU/CPU activity to 11.38.
  2. In the Sequences bin? Right-click the sequence and RENAME. At export? Change the existing Export File Name.
  3. Ran a 4K comparison on a one-minute mp4 project using 25000kbps, H264, 45fps. The result... Version 11.38 - 4:51 Version 11.22 - 4:46 Essentially the same ... and those numbers might be slightly changed on subsequent runs. There's no 11.21; perhaps a beta test, and it's best to ignore those. Don't be overly concerned with the GPU readout. Different files, different formats, different machines --- different handling. Go with overall performance.
  4. There are numerous export choices, including 'custom' that you can specify... And in the ZOOM effects box, click the preset drop-down menu to see the many A/R options. One is 5:4. If either doesn't do the job for you, come back here.
  5. Betas don't count; they are test versions. Most MTS issues have been solved and you were issued a license for the sync issue. GPU usage changes have likely been made since 11.08, so don't expect the same results with the current release. Blurring hasn't been replicated here. Just tested version 11.22 using H265 at 30000kpbs, 854x480 and it was clean. Also gave it a run at 4K resolution, and it too was clean at the head. Perhaps a settings or hardware difference? Upload a project that definitely does this for you and we'll take a look. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  6. Upload a sample project. Indicate the export codec and bitrate.
  7. Use ZOOM with the 16:9 A/R preset to fill the entire 16:9 screen with the cropped image. Or SCALE it up as desired.
  8. Yes, that works too. Even 2K. The issue has been reported, and seems to have been around for a long while. Apparently few have attempted 4K WMV exports.
  9. The file requests were shared privately, and both looked fine here.
  10. Upload a multi-track project that crashes and we'll test it here.
  11. The linked 32-bit 11.38 release above is the one currently on the VP download page. Here's a 64-bit free version. Some features are disabled, but otherwise it's usable. If mp4 export balks, try AVI. Might be worth a test? With each install of the same version, there can be subtle variations in features and operation. The fact that clips now don't load to the time line when imported may be one of those variations. And, yes, it is possible that the REVO uninstaller cleared away some digital detritus.
  12. Don't export or save. But if it won't even load the project onto the timeline, then the above procedure isn't the answer. If all the source files are in a single folder, open it and see if there is a VPJ file there as well. If so, upload that entire folder. You might want to ZIP it first. The next logical step would be to test the project on another PC, if one is available.
  13. You can certainly try the 'free tool' procedure, which makes for a clean install. But if you can load the project onto the timeline without it freezing, do try the procedure outlined above. This doesn't save the project, it saves all the files in the project + the VPJ control file. That's what's needed to reconstruct the project here.
  14. Under OPTIONS | DISC tab Clear Unused Cache Files. You might do that after closing the program, and before loading the project. Blue ribbon color indicates the sequence is not cached. You will not see purple cache if the sequence has only one track. Purple color indicates the sequence is cached, as the result of mixing multiple tracks. However, sometimes the ribbon remains blue. Gray color indicates caching when the sequence output is in full screen size. This cache starts when you switch to full screen preview. In any case the ribbon should not affect export. When the green line above the thumbnails completes, there should be no previewing delay. The line appears only above video clips, not still images. Consider upgrading to the latest release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Please report your results here.
  15. Have you also updated the video driver and confirmed that Direct-X is current? https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html Install this 32-bit version, which will have the CPU-only choice under OPTIONS | EDITING. Though it may not be licensed, it should work for you. Or you might try this prior to install. Download and run this free tool. Allow it to uninstall Videopad totally, including deleting all entries under the SCAN options it offers. Then install the linked version or your 11.01. If you provide the project folder (not simply the VPJ file), per the following instructions, that may help diagnose this issue. Just four steps to closely follow... Let us know the result. If a bug is confirmed, you likely will be issued a extended license.
  16. The latest release is 11.38, both 32-and 64-bit. It's good, but there are a few newly revealed quirks that are now being addressed. Most are so obscure that users are unlikely to come upon them ... and they have workarounds. Issues can be due to unfamiliarity. Some are equipment related. VP is not a simple app but complex software. With endless configurations worldwide, what's the expectation that any program will run flawlessly on every single PC? Zilch!😉 NCH beta tests their regular enhancements and improvements. Other vendors may update less often. For example, several bugs in Windows 8 and 10 took months, and in one instance, years to correct after they were reported. True VP bugs are fixed quickly when confirmed. If the version that you have is working well, there's no mandate to upgrade. 'Maintenance' changes are subtle. As always, newer releases can be test driven - unlicensed or not - to see what's enticing, and whether problems arise.
  17. Disconnect from the Net before you attempt to install the file and see if that works for you. You can also test drive most any version, unlicensed. Here's the free release. Some features are disabled. If mp4 export balks, try AVI.
  18. Try export using the mp4 encoder, instead of WMV. Please share the project so it can be analyzed. This can be private, and it's not difficult. Just follow these four steps closely... 19. 6.10 is very old, and much has changed. That's the likely reason behind the auto-update.
  20. Perhaps this... In the bin, add CROP TO ASPECT RATIO 9:16 and BLUR effects; place on track one. Track two - same 16:9 image. Export - 1080x1920 (9:16) Letterboxed. Anything outside of the 9:16 frame will be clipped. BG remains stationary. Insert on track two can be scaled, positioned or otherwise manipulated. A pan-centered, slightly scaled-up result ...
  21. Change the A/R on the clip in the bin, then drop to timeline and trim. Or, if the clip is on the sequence, use the Crop to Aspect Ratio effect and apply the 9:16 preset.
  22. You can upload an image link to the forum. In the sticky posts at the top of the forum click on GET HELP. We'll be on the lookout for it.
  23. Which codec: H264 or H265? Manual settings can be made here in version 11.38... Testing here has shown that H265 will be considerably slower than H264 mp4 and use less GPU. A five-minute project, with 4K source files, exported in 4:28 with 64-bit 11.38 using H264 @ 1080 / default quality. No blur at the head. Submit a project that demonstrates your issues. Just follow these steps closely... 24. No can do. If Seq 2 is embedded into Seq 1, then deleted, Seq 2 clips in Seq 1 will be deleted. Clips in the bin won't be affected.
