  1. When you load the project, and it is missing some files, do you see a window like this? Click on RESOLVE, locate the folder that contains the files, then click on the file/s. It's a great idea to regularly click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO A FOLDER. Then, all your files and the project will be in one place.
  2. Offhand, there appears to be no difference in operation whether that box is checked or not - OPTIONS|MEDIA.
  3. After applying CROP, add the ZOOM effect to bring the image to full screen size. POSITION and SCALE are other alternatives.
  4. Overlooked the word "selection" and I don't spot that capability. Your best bet is to preset the length before clips are added to the timeline.
  5. Drag the clip border, on the timeline. To preset clip length, open OPTIONS|DEFAULT media tab and specify the duration.
  6. It's best to start a new thread, but since you're here... Clicking the preview and clip tabs (top-left of the preview window) toggles between those modes, if that's what you have in mind. To revert to the original clip, <ctrl-Z> (EDIT|UNDO) will step back through many prior changes. Another approach might be to click the media clip, then the green (down) arrow and "place at cursor on new track." Or drag the media clip to the new track.
  7. Tried a right-click|CLOSE GAP? To prevent blank spaces from being created, test the DELETE (ripple) right-click option.
  8. One thought, if a bit convoluted... COPY the clip (right-click menu) Move the red line to the new spot (note the time popup below the preview window or at the top of the line) When the point is where you want it - PASTE (right-click menu) and then delete the original You might paste to another track, to avoid confusion
  9. You should be able to do that. Drag the "handles." See the thread just below this one, "building preview." Keep in mind that video editing is resource intensive; for best results a robust PC is required.
  10. Yes, that's the gist of non-linear systems. Just how easily the processes are accomplished is a relative judgment. Give the demo version a workout before you buy.
  11. Wrong function. The flags under the preview window are primarily used to isolate a portion of a clip, which is then dropped into or reflected on the timeline. Move the scrubber on the timeline to the start point of the segment that you want to delete, then click the SPLIT button. (It may look slightly different than the one shown here.) Place the line at the end of the segment you want to excise and click SPLIT once again. Between the two splits - on the timeline - you have just created a separate clip. NOW right-click on the clip and DELETE it as instructed earlier.
  12. Some tutorials are not the best - use your favorite search engine to locate others. one, for version 3x (4x is very similar). Also click the ? HELP button at the top-right of the window. To delete a scene simply position the scrubber (red line) at the start and click the SPLIT icon. Position the line at the end of the scene and make another SPLIT. Now you have an isolated clip. Right-click the clip and CUT or RIPPLE. If a hole remains, right-click|CLOSE GAP.
  13. Right-clicking the clip, in the sequence, and DELETEing it will create a precise hole that's the same size as the removed clip. If the media clip was used in full, just drag it back into that hole. It should snap into place. (Use a right-click|CLOSE gap to remove holes.) To simply remove an effect, select the clip, then right-click|EFFECTS. That will bring it up in the effects window. Click the X to the right of the name of the effect that you want to delete. Then SAVE. To get a closer look at a clip, click the CLIPS menu. The timeline can be expanded horizontally by using the "zoom" slider at the right-bottom of the edit window.. Another way to expand the timeline - vertically - is to place the mouse pointer on the 5 dots at the middle-bottom of the video timeline. A double-headed arrow appears. Drag it downwards.
  14. Park the scrubber (red line) on the desired frame, then take a snapshot. Drop in onto the timeline. Drag the clip's margins to change its length.
  15. Using version 4.11, an eleven-second clip's speed was reduced by 50%, making it about 23 seconds. No matter where the scrubber (red line) was placed, playback always began from that point - never from eleven seconds. Also tested with a :55 clip at 50%; same result.
  16. You might create a new sequence, then add your clip. A sequence can be dragged to the timeline of other sequences. Alternatively, a sequence can be exported (produced), which will create a clip that can be imported into a project.
  17. Unless one could save the effect, and if appropriate apply it to other frames. This thread may prove helpful.
  18. Capture or download a sparkle effect from . Chroma key, speed it up and position it as an overlay. The result should look like this. Here is one of many "bing" type sounds available on via a Net search.
  19. Not seeing that here, using a version 4.11 exported Mp4 in Windows 10. Keyframed zoom effects were just as shown on the timeline.
  20. If possible please upload a short pixelated segment to an online server, such as ONE DRIVE, DROPBOX, link it here and folks will take a look.
  21. Install the latest version and see if this corrects the issue.
  22. Nat, I tested your scenario in 4.10, scaling a 4:3 image, but the results were as expected. No deformity. Click HERE
  23. Check out the VP 4x tutorial... http://help.nchsoftw...ad/mac/help.pdf And this, written for version 3x, but the principles are the same as for 4x. http://www.nchsoftwa...d/tutorial.html Click the ? (HELP) icon at the top-right for more. You can place your video images/clips on sequence channel #1, then add separate audio to sequence channel #2. Changing one should not affect the other. To see gaps, expand the sequence display by moving the slider that's near the right-bottom of the window. Right-click in an open space between clips and click CLOSE GAP. Clips can also be left-clicked - then hold the button and slide them to the left to close gaps. The clips will snap into place.
  24. What version of VP are you running? In 4.10 here, three image clips of varying aspect ratio were rotated after being placed on the timeline, using the right-click|ROTATE option on each in the image BIN. Next two video clips - - one a 16:9 Mp4 and the other a 4:3 wmv file - were handled in the same manner, using the right-click|ROTATE option on each in the video bin. In all instances, the rotation was shown in both the bins and on the timeline and it "stuck" after the two projects were saved to .vpj files and later restored.
