  1. Click the fx on the clip in the sequence to open the effects dialog. Click the large green + sign. Click the SCALE item, then use either the sliders or the handles in the preview screen to size the image.
  2. There's bound to be a learning curve with most video software. Videopad is fairly intuitive, and it will only get easier. Stick with the basics. While building the project, press <ctrl-Z> to go back, step-by-step if you make a mistake. Back up often by clicking the lined 'hamburger' menu at the top left, clicking FILE, and then SAVE PROJECT AS, with an incremented number or unique name, so as to not wipe out prior saves. (SAVE PROJECT will overwrite.) This help file should prove useful. You will need a PDF viewer. There's one built into Windows 10 and others, like Foxit reader, can be downloaded for free. To search use <ctrl-F> which opens a small window at the left-bottom of the page. If you run into problems, check into this forum with a specific topic in the subject field. Folks are helpful.
  3. Right. If the clip is lengthened it may become less jittery and more readable. Worth a try, along with the frame rate. Post a link to the project, as above, and others can experiment.
  4. It appears that the scroll is moving too fast. Extend the clip duration by dragging its borders, so the action lasts longer. Do a quick upload and share the project and someone will take a look. It's not difficult... Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material you can link it in a personal message (PM) to me, via the envelope above. Be sure to FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to share it.
  5. Slow initial caching in beta 7.53 - let it complete. No audio loss on either of two test exports - one at 320x240 and the other at 1366x768 (auto-match).
  6. Select (highlight) the clips to be moved. Hold down <ctrl> while clicking each clip. Or click the first clip, then hold down <shift> and click the last to select all in that range. Or select the clips, then right-click|GROUP SELECTED CLIPS. That way, they remain tied together.
  7. Or you might insert some soothing 'static' between the clips - with or without sound. static.mp4
  8. Set a very short duration for the transition - say 0050 - and experiment with the reveal and pattern choices. Something like BOUNCE or TETROMINO may be interesting.

Just follow the steps outlined in my previous post, if you want tracking to look like it does in the video there. Not difficult.
  10. What version of VP is being used? Test the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Upload and share your project and someone here will check it out. The process takes only minutes and is not difficult. 11. In the export window click the PRESET field and choose Widescreen TV. That should give a better presentation. Looks good here.

In the sequence, click the fx button on the clip to open the effects window. Click the large green + sign and choose the MOTION effect. With the scrubber (the red line in the effect window) at the far left, set the SCALE slider to the desired size. Click on the image in the preview window and drag it to the start position. Click the small green + sign on the effects toolbar to set a keyframe. Move the effects window scrubber to the far right. Then drag the preview image window to the end position. 13. 4GB ram is marginal for video editing, which is resource intensive. Please upload the :60 project and share it. Someone will check it out. It takes but a few minutes. 14. Not seen here, using the same operating system. What are the specs of your system: GPU, CPU, RAM, free space on the C:\ drive? Save your project. Then Clear Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS|DISK tab. Reload the current project. You can revert to the earlier version if necessary. The installer is normally found in this path... "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad" And you might test this version.
  15. VP has Hardware Acceleration support, and there is promise for further improvement. Look under OPTIONS|EDITING for the on/off toggle. What format and resolution files and what VP version are being used?

Along the same lines, to have a dot (or any png image) track along a route... Create the png or download it from the WEB. Load it and your map or video into VP, with the map on track one and image on track two. Drag the right border of the image track to make it the same length as the track one. Click the fx button on the image track. The effects window opens. (Under the preview window, click the chevron to the right of the VIEW icon and choose Clip & Background.) Click the large green + sign at the left of the toolbar and choose the MOTION effect. Use the SCALE field to size the image (in this case, a red dot) as desired. With the scrubber (the red line in the effects window) positioned at the far left, drag the dot in the preview screen to the start of your route. Click the small green + sign on the toolbar to set the first keyframe. Move the scrubber to the right by a grid square or so (no need to be precise), then drag the dot to the desired next position. This sets keyframe two. Repeat this action along the path you want to take until you reach the end point. (If the dot won't drag to where you want it, use the Horiz/Vert/Base sliders.) The closer the keyframes are to one another, the faster the action is between them. You may need only a few keyframes, depending upon the route and its length. If you make a mistake, press <ctrl-Z> to backtrack step-by-step. The result will resemble this... tracking.mp4
  17. Odd indeed. Some things were never meant to be know. Make that bug report and include your system's specs and a pointer to this thread.
  18. There are other measures to be tried but they will take patience. Folks here will do their best to help. Worst case scenario, if you've purchased recently, is a refund. Despite their large volume, if there is a possibility that all the source files can be zipped and uploaded to a server, then this may prove helpful. Also needed would be the vpj file that is created when the project is saved in Videopad. It likely is in the same folder as the source files. What is the general resolution, size and format of those files? What is the length of the project? Let us know.
  19. Your image pretty much confirms what Nat has said, and is seen here from time to time as well. Don't think it's of crucial concern.
  20. Exceedingly strange, as it works for others - using various later versions. Tested several here, and have never seen this. Glad you sorted it out. Report your results via the bug form.
  21. Perhaps revert to your old, working version? At a loss to pin down the issue, as it cannot be replicated here and has not been previously reported AFAIK. Hints at something unique to your system. Stay tuned, perhaps someone else will have a clue. Do report this to NCH, with reference to the thread. There's also a refund policy, should it sadly come to that.
  22. Haven't a clue. No one else has reported this. Did any audio file load load after the update? Try this beta version. Older versions are available here, should you want to revert. But your license key likely won't be good for those. File a bug report by clicking the chevron at the top-right of the VP window. Reference this thread.
  23. Nat's result has been replicated here, using 7.51; there appears to be nothing missing. But there was a glitch at the 2:45 dissolve which appears to be a bug that will be fixed. If a VP-to-YouTube direct upload fails try an Mp4 or AVI video export and use their uploader.
  24. Share the file (privately, if necessary) and we'll see if your result is replicated.
  25. Despite an incomplete green line, the program may still function normally. Considerable caching improvements were made in later versions.
