  1. Test this version. If the issue persists come back here.
  2. Upload one of the 'two-minute' 1GB files to a free server, get a shareable link that can be viewed by anyone and post it here. We'll compare.
  3. The free version has limitations, especially after the trial period. Here, AVI export usually continues to be available. If it is not, uninstall and install this version. Have noted on some non-licensed installs the option to "continue with the 'lite' version. During UNinstall, a similar option may be offered - or not. Just tested an AVI/H264 upload to YouTube - using their uploader. No problem.
  4. AVI works, but when the H264 compressor is used on long projects sync is out on export. Being worked on...
  5. On the toolbar, click ADD OBJECTS | ADD ANIMATED TITLES | DIGITAL TIMER or TIMER.
  6. I7-8700 with 32GB RAM and a lower-end video card than yours (GTX-1060). Don't know the answer to your query, but something is amiss if it takes two-minutes to import a 1GB file. Close other programs while editing. Testing again, this time in v8.68 beta, a 1.5GB mp4 file launched VP and displayed in preview in less than twenty-five seconds.
  7. Glad that your dad enjoyed it. Considerable improvements (not without glitches) have been made since the 7.x versions. As you discovered, full backwards compatibility isn't possible. It's best to edit and export with the same, or nearly the same, version. This 16-bit program has memory limitations that should be resolved in a 64-bit version. Thus, creating a multi-track/effect project, especially if files are UHD, is best handled by breaking a project into segments, to be later merged and exported, as suggested earlier. License the program to gain full functionality. https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/faq.html Shalom
  8. Using the latest VP version here on a PC with specs similar to yours a 1.2GB MOV file launched VP and loaded in about fourteen seconds. This hints that VP isn't the problem??
  9. AVI works in the current VP versions. Use the MPEG4 compressor. Or use mp4 with H264.
  10. Install this version and see if it solves your problem. Ignore any virus warnings.
  11. Under the OPTIONS | MEDIA tab there's Automatically Normalize Volume of Audio Recordings Made, which may or may not be of help in your situation. In the audio effects box NORMALIZE is available. It will be applied to multiple audio clips if more than one is selected (highlighted). Check out this thread. Some suggestions are dated and now implemented differently, but it should provide good tips.

    DVD video format

There are bitrate options in the DVD Movie export box. Click the ADVANCED button. And there are utilities that can shrink the content to fit.
  13. Lots of help. If a purchased version of Videopad is uninstalled, it can be reinstalled and reregistered if necessary. No need to pay again. Upgrades are free for six-months from date of licensing. https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html As to your issue, download and install this version. That should solve the missing video problem. Save your project first, of course, using Save Project File AS, and giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Clicking on a VPJ file will load the project as of the date the file was written.
  14. Try reducing the size of the preview window by dragging its borders. This may ease the load on the processor. Also look under OPTIONS | EDITING and toggle the 'hardware acceleration' box, to see if that has any effect.
  15. With the non-exportable three-track project fully on the timeline, please upload and share it as instructed above. That's the best way to track down issues.
  16. Does the audio vanish in preview, or just at export? What version of VP is being used? Should never request the code once it's entered.. Try this version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If it continues to prompt, get in touch with support... https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html
  17. Don't spot anything wrong with it. Either upload directly to YT from Videopad or export to mp4 1280 x 720 with the default settings. If intended for a vertical format then aspect ratios should be set on the source files accordingly at the outset. Everything would be sized to fit a vertical window.
  18. Share the project and someone will check it out. It's easy, quick and can be private. Follow these instructions. Don't upload the export or simply the VPJ file. Upload the project folder. 1. With your completed project on the timeline, click the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu, top-left. Click FILE | BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Specify a folder. Click SELECT FOLDER. 2. Using the PC file manager, go to where the numbered folder was saved and upload it to a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* 3. Get a shared, public link that ANYone can view. 4. Paste that link here, or click the folder, above top-right in this forum, and message it to me. This is private and won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

    Audio sync

If the two audio recording devices were not sync-locked, there may be slippage as they may not have recorded at precisely the same speed. Fixing it can take some mid-course adjustments. Add your separate track as an overlay of the camera's audio track, then attempt to match up the waveforms. Also listen to both audio sources concurrently. Dragging one or the other should eventually achieve sync.
  20. Video editing is resource intensive and a minimum of 16MB RAM is often recommended. But the issue here is not your PC's limitations, but that of the VP 16-bit architecture. That is likely the reason that expanding the preview window goes black. It's out of usable memory. Then there's a second issue which came to light only yesterday. Versions 8.66 and 8.67 have a bug that will soon be fixed. Use this version on the short clip and export will be fine at 1080. At this juncture even the release linked earlier probably won't give 100% results at 720 HD, which may be the highest resolution obtainable. Your best bet now may be to break the project into parts, export each, import and merge them for final export. In that way VP is working with composited single clips - a much easier task that may allow higher res. One way to accomplish this is to isolate a section. Then click the + sign to the right of the Sequence 1 tab to create a new blank sequence. Back in sequence 1, click <ctrl-A> to fully copy only the isolated section. Switch to Sequence 2 and click the Sequences tab in the bin. Drag Sequence 1 into Sequence 2. Export Sequence 2. Do the same with the other sections. Will experiment a bit more here. Check back for further developments, if any.
  21. Download and install this version. Ignore any virus warnings. Be sure to Save Project Files AS first, giving them a unique # or name to avoid overwriting prior saves. That way, you're protected, and can double-click the VPJ file to load the project to the time when the Save was written. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If the problem persists, drop in here again.
  22. Multi-tracks and heavy effects have maxed out program memory. That should be overcome when VP 64-bit is released - in due time. Should you attempt another multi-track project before then, suggest that you minimize the # of tracks used and perhaps break the project into segments. Export each segment, then later import and merge them for the final export. Lower-res exports may succeed when higher will not. Please leave your project intact on the server for a week or so should the developers want to check it out.
  23. Download and install this version. Ignore any virus warnings. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If the problem persists, drop in here again.
  24. Download and install this version. Ignore any security warnings. Your registration may not be accepted but the unlicensed release should still be good for export. If it balks, try the AVI format. In a few days redownload the latest version, install and register it. Please leave your files on the server for a week, if possible.
