If you truly want to fade in a number of clips on a single track... Click the FX icon on one of the clips and choose the FADE IN effect. Then, for each of the other clips to be faded in, right-click on them and APPLY LAST USED EFFECT. VP will prompt for a duration for each. That effect, in reality, is a transition. The words Gain and Volume are synonymous. However, the volume slider to the left of a track affects all clips on the track. The AMPLIFY audio effect is usually applied to only a single clip. Either of these actions will persist in export.

Using either the SCALE or MOTION effects, there are sliders to align and size. And the 'mask' can be dragged in the preview window. Effects can be saved ... click the folder icon while working on a specific effect. Give it a name. It will appear as just another icon choice at the bottom of the main effects window. It's unclear what the split problems were. One way to define a clip that's in the bin is to select it and SET START and SET END POINTS (under the preview window). Then click the ADD button and the clip will go to the timeline. Click the chevron to the right of the button for positioning choices. Of course, the clip can always be moved on the timeline. If a bin clip is to have several cuts taken from it, right-click the clip and COPY <ctrl-C>. Then, in a clear area of the bin, press <ctrl-V> to PASTE - as many times as needed. Each clip will have an incremental #. Trim each copy and ADD to the timeline, leaving the original (master) as is. For protection, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. If you make an editing mistake, press <ctrl-Z> to backtrack, step-by-step. Once your segment, like the one submitted here, is complete, export it. It's now a composited clip. Then you can work anew on more of the project and add that clip to it. A decent approach is to export each song, individually, then import and arrange them for a final export. That also eases the load on the PC, which can speed things up.

Need to have the actual 16 minute clip for comparison. Link it please. What version? Look under Menu | HELP | ABOUT. A sixteen-minute 1080 clip exported here at constant 60fps with 2200kbps quality took about :22, on a PC with an I7 CPU.

Please share that test clip as instructed above, for comparison and analysis. What incarnation of Videopad is being used - 32- or 64-bit? What version? Look under Menu | HELP | ABOUT. If 64 isn't listed, then it's 32-bit.

It's possible that this folder is considered a system folder and is being hidden in Windows, unless changed under Folder Options. Don't have that O/S to check here. Or that recent VP versions simply are not supported in that old operating system. Tried a newer operating system? Or perhaps a very old version of Videopad? Do link a project. Someone will check it out.

If importing video files, like ZOOM, they will have a video track even if there's no video. Once a file is in the bin, right-click it there and Save Audio Clip as New File. If video won't be needed, delete the import under the Video tab and work with the new WAV file under the Audio tab. The original on the PC won't be touched. The newly created WAV files are saved to your PC's Music folder. Should you want to get fancy, use a program like Mixpad to create a final mix that can be imported to Videopad. Or simply mix them in Videopad by varying volume levels and applying audio effects. Audio_only.mp4

Video editing is resource intensive. While simple projects can be handled by basic PCs, a gaming-class machine is more suitable for complex and lengthy efforts. The 64-bit version of Videopad uses Windows memory most effectively, so it is recommended for those who use a 64-bit operation system. Here's the latest. If you have specific issues, voice them here. Folks are willing to help sort them out if you have the patience to work with them.

It's all a learning curve. Have patience.🙂 First, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. This for your protection. To remove a portion of a clip, use splits at the in and out points, then click on the part that you have isolated and press the DEL key. Or right-click on that area and DELETE(Ripple), which should close the gap left by the deletion. If it does not, right-click within the gap and Close Gap. If you make a mistake immediately press <ctrl-Z> to backtrack, step-by-step. And, of course, you have a recent back up of the Saved Project File. Moving a clip can cause several actions. If the mouse pointer is placed within the clip to drag right, it may cover other clips. To avoid that, and drag ALL clips to the right, first select (highlight) each by holding down <ctrl> and clicking them, one-by-one. Or click the first clip to select it, then hold down <shift> and click the last. All within the range will be selected. Then drag. Alternatively, select the desired clips, right-click and GROUP them, so they will all move in concert when any one of them is dragged. If a clip is typical video and audio linked together, then deleting video will also affect the audio, to keep it in sync. If it UNlinked - perhaps a music track - then audio and video will be independent so deleting portions of one won't affect the other. Del_Ripple.mp4 For some good tips check out the tutorials.

The 64-bit version is more capable of handling complex, large projects. All recent releases have been optimized for better GPU utilization. Export speed will be dependent upon resolution, format, quality settings, PC specs, etc. Experiment. If Lossless export is available that process is lightning fast.

There's no mandate to update if your version is working well. You can always test drive the latest, to explore new features or changes. Your license should be good for both the 32- and 64-bit versions that fall within the six-month free grace period from date of purchase. Look here for the latest release within that window, which should accept your registration.

Try AVI export. It often succeeds. If uninstalled via Windows Programs and Features, VP may prompt to revert to the free version, which has limitations. It's also available here. Of course, for full features, upgrading the license is the way to go.

Recent VP versions may no longer be supported on XP. However, try the 32-bit release. Click the Menu (top-left), then HELP | ABOUT. If it doesn't list "64-bit" it's the 32. Get the latest 64-bit release here.

On the timeline, split out the portion of the clip to be cropped. No need for that if you want to crop the entire clip. Click the FX icon on the clip thumbnail. In the effects window, click on CROP. To move tracks, right-click in the gray area to the left of any track. A drop-down menu appears with MOVE UP/MOVE DOWN track choices.

Upload the files to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."

Glad it worked out. Things to test, for a smaller file export... Lower resolution Lower quality setting (click the blue Default Quality/Filesize link) Lower frame rate Different format (such as AVI, Mp4, etc.) The WMV of bskite in storm exported at 1280x720 resolution here is only 55MB.

Whether mp4 or WMV, VP version 10.88 (32- or 64-bit) exports both audio and video normally here. WMP handles them well. Try this... Close Videopad, then use Windows Explorer (the file manager) to delete all files in these directories (folders)... "C:\Users\<your PC name>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components" Then install this version.

Plays just fine here in 10.88. And in 10.87 as well. Be sure that your player/viewer volume is turned up and not muted. Fade Thru White isn't intended for a final fade, as there's nothing to fade TO. Thus it doesn't fade completely. If you want a cleaner, full fade, add a .500 duration blank white clip to the end of video. Then set a 1:00 transition between your last shot and that clip.

If the tracks are stacked above one another you should hear them all. Confirm that they are not muted and that the volume sliders are all the way to the right. The 'speaker' is the MUTE icon. Specific clips can also be muted. Right-click on their audio track and MUTE AUDIO, or click the 'speaker' on an individual clip, if it's shown.

That's not unusal; normally, uploads are much slower than downloads. At the bottom left of the Google Drive window there's an indication of how much space is free. How much is used will encompass ALL your files, including gMail. Be sure to Get A non-restricted Link that anyone can access.

Let's have a look at the project (not the export). That way we see what you see. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
