  1. Date of your query is July 28, so posting may be old? If the blue line issue is current it's not being seen here. When dragging the scrubber (the red-line) don't drag in the middle as this produces a double-headed arrow that will create a blue selection. Drag only by the top of the line. Do not hold down <shift>. Haven't spotted the line not moving. If possible, upload a video of this behavoir and link it here please. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  2. File a suggestion. Be specific on what you would like the arrows to do. https://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html?software=VideoPad
  3. Try exporting at different frame rates - say 60fps. Please share the project and someone here will check it out. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  4. No appreciable difference here in 10.87. On the left, the VP export. On the right, your original. Please upload the file itself, for further checking. Confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are up to date... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html
  5. Dragging from the timeline creates sequentially numbered clips in the bin, just like the other method. For protection, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
  6. Other NLE software may update less frequently and require a fee or be offered strictly by subscription. VP offers that as well , but a purchase never expires, and there's no mandate to update. New releases can always be test driven to check out what's different or new. If unlicensed, there's normally a trial period before some features are disabled. Retain your registration info, just in case. In the bin right-click on a clip and COPY. Then, in an open area of the bin, right-click | PASTE (CLIP). Or use <cntrl-V> for as many clips as needed. Each can be trimmed, then dropped onto the timeline, and each will have a unique #. Leave the master clip as is. Another approach that results in the same outcome is to place the master on the timeline and split out the desired clips. Drag each trimmed clip to the bin (they vanish from the timeline). They then can be dragged back to the timeline as desired, and will remain in the bin.
  7. If you prefer H264 set the Mp3(Layer 3) audio encoder. When finished, right-click on the stabilized file and flip it vertically. Appears to be in sync.
  8. The issue of <ctrl-A> not selecting all bin files has been reported and should be remedied shortly. For the load speed issue, go to OPTIONS | MEDIA tab and uncheck Nothing in that stabilizer plug in has changed AFAIK. Suggest sticking with MPEG4.
  10. And, of course, you can always type the subs into VP manually. That works well.
  11. More of Nat's tips that may give you some ideas... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/19857-how-to-work-with-multiple-video-tracks/ Another method, for visualizing where to make cuts is to apply a split screen to all clips - A side for track one, B side for track 2, etc. To do that select all clips on a track, then click VIDEO EFFECTS on the menu bar and choose Split Screen. Choose the number of splits, the screen position and fit, then click the green 'chain' button on the effects toolbar to apply the split to all selected clips... Split out all tracks where a clip is to be isolated, then delete the related clips on the unwanted tracks. When done with edits, remove the split-screen effects. If necessary for transitions, all active clips can be dragged/merged onto a single higher track. This process can be dicey, so Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
  12. Alex is a fast talker, but that's not the issue. Some VP competitors don't offer speech-to-text, which is best left to the experts. VP's implementation isn't useful. One alternative is here. Press the right buttons, fill in the forms. You may get a freebie. Export as an SSA or perhaps SRT. Only four manual corrections were needed for your test. In Videopad, load your video, then click Subtitles on the toolbar. In the subtitle window click Load on the toolbar and input the file attached below. Click the format tab and choose the font size. APPLY. Alex.ssa
  13. Glad to hear it. Your stutter and low bitrate observations with H265 have been passed along. There's never a mandate to update, but the latest can always be test driven as a trial. Retain your registration info, just in case.
  14. There's never a mandate to upgrade, but the latest is always available for a test drive, to check out new features. Good to hear that the latest solved the issues. If it is beyond the six-month window, which seems a reasonable policy, search the repository as suggested above for a later release that's within the period. The problem may have been fixed. Unlike some NLEs, VP is enhanced often. Though it's tested, glitches can creep in. Should a problem crop up, outline it here and someone will try to replicate it. It could be a setting or editing issue. If a true bug is confirmed, it will be quickly addressed.
  15. The "failed" error has been seen in some releases, but not with 10.87. Exported beta H265 at 25000 your file looked pretty steady. No error. Overall bit rate: 25.2 Mb/s. Do notice that repeated playbacks may vary slightly though - rarely, there's a minute shutter as the car comes into view.
  16. Please share with folks here what specific "faults" you are encountering. Chances are someone has the fix. There's a six-month free upgrade window from time of purchase. You should not have to pay again, or pay for an upgrade during that window. Here is the repository of older versions. Choose a release that is dated just prior to the expiration of your free update period. Retain registration info, just in case. If no version dated within the six-month period solves the problem, contact the company... https://tinyurl.com/cn5fp52j
  17. Further testing confirmed stutter with the H265 encoder. But no stutter when export was set to Min15fps, Max30fps or Min30fps, Max 60fps. While both those choices indicate "variable", the result is "constant." This was tested at both "high quality" and 40000 bitrates. Try those frame rates for both H264 and H265.
  18. New thread begun. VP 5.11 is ancient. Many changes and fixes have been made since its release. Please update to the latest. That version, unlicensed, will be a trial. When that period ends some features may be disabled, with prompts to license. If mp4 export is blocked, try AVI. When it is uninstalled via Windows PROGRAMS AND FEATURES you may be offered the option to continue with the basic free version, which can also be had here. If this doesn't solve the sync issue, please share a project (not the exported result) that does this. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix.
  19. Please share a file or two - not screenshots - though that also can be helpful so folks can see what you see. Upload the file/s to a free server and we will check it out.
  20. Still spot no problem here, but perhaps your eyes are more discerning. Frame rate can make a difference. As you know, there are numerous frame rate choices for VP export... The fps that VP chooses may often be optimal IMO, based upon source fps. Variable (Smart Max 45fps) can be a good manual pick, if not already shown. To make a suggestion, click the chevron at the top-right of the VP window and click on the feedback/suggestion item.
  21. Check out the exports on another PC if available. As for the camera iris 'hunting', perhaps there's an option to disable or modify it. Otherwise, video looks good.
  22. Viewed the OneDrive upload in WMP, MPC-BE and in the Windows OneDrive player at the codes you mentioned. Iris 'flickering' but no break in continuity. Exported a 720 mp4 with H265 at 25000 and all was well - no error. Did another, using H264, forcing Lossless. It took one second and looked smooth. There was a very slight jitter on the 555 file pan of the car when using the MPEG4 encoder, but this wasn't seen with H264. Sorry, just can't replicate your issues. Someone else may chime in here with their observations.
  23. Under OPTIONS | DISK menu, Clear Unused Cache Files. What version of Videopad is being used? Update to the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Come back if the issue isn't resolved, and share a file that does this. Someone will check it out.
  24. Verify that the video driver and Direct-X are up to date... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html There's one slight hesitation in the clouds near the end, just before the walkers...but it's on the source as well. Other than some camera iris hunting as it sees different light levels, looks good.
