  1. Close Videopad. Restart, and before loading any clips or project, click OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Then load the project. If no change, to analyze it we need to see the project just as you do. Please share it. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  2. Working well here in v10.96 (64-bit). Tested a twenty-minute clip at both three and four minutes duration. No truncation. Did you click SET? What's the format of your clip?
  3. Now suggest installing version 10.49, which shouldn't ask for registration as it's within the six-month gratis window. 10.48, had a speed change bug. You will never be required to pay, or to upgrade. And unregistered trial or free versions can always be tested. 10.96 would prompt for an upgrade, but it still might function on a trial basis. Of course, retain your original installer and licensing info, should it be needed. If you revert to 10.49 it likely will be automatically registered.
  4. What version is being run? You can install any release within the six-month period, and registration will be good. Look here. Or first reinstall the one you have. Let us know.
  5. There's only one with the same name as shown in your error message image... http://www.nch.com.au/components/ffmpeg23.exe
  6. No sign of flickering here, using the latest version. Try it. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Confirm that the PC video driver and Direct-X are current... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html
  7. Here's the components store... http://www.nch.com.au/components/ Download the file, double-click it and see what happens. We assume that you downloaded the successful export that was linked earlier.
  8. It's not doing that here. What version of VP is being used? Try the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Or reinstall your version a time or two - or three - to see if the behavior changes. No need to download again. Subtle differences can result from each install of the same version. You can also try holding down <alt> as you trim those clips.
  9. Close the program. Relaunch it and before loading any projects or files, go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. You can install and/or register any number of times. Try this release. Or reinstall the one that you bought. Even without a valid license, newer versions can always be test driven. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  10. Can't speak for the company, or whether this is a VP issue. Perhaps a note to tech support referencing this thread is in order... https://www.nch.com.au/support/supportcontact.html?software=VideoPad&support
  11. Using a Windows 11 box, exported your Stabilized - dv4Win10.avi (2.67GB) with both Handbrake and VP 10.96 (64-bit)... Handbrake settings were fast 720x480 mp4 @ 30 fps (peak) which resulted in 29.97 fps with deinterlace OFF (unacceptable quality when on). Size 2.67GB. Time: 3:10. VP settings were 720x480 @45fps (Smart Max) which resulted in 29.97 fps. Size: 1.2GB. Time: 2:06. Of course, YMMV.
  12. Lossless passes through the content without re-encoding - thus no quality loss. But there are limitations to when Lossless can be used... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10288.html
  13. https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-get-help-share-a-screenshot-or-project/?do=getLastComment When inserting a Google link be sure it's not restricted, but instead "Anyone with link can view." Use their GET | COPY LINK option.
  14. Audio "ducking." VP is just, uh, 'ducky' at this, but it will take experimentation. And if the foreground noise isn't loud enough then it might not work. Tweak the settings under the OPTIONS | AUDIO tab. On the timeline, right-click the music track and enable BACKGROUND SOUND. Try these parameters for starters...
  15. Patience; there's a learning curve.🙂 After splitting-out the desired clip, use the left-arrow button to go to the start of the clip... Hold down <shift> then use the right-arrow button to go to the end of the clip. The clip will be selected (blue). Right-click in the selected area and Export selected region. Note the target folder, and choose your export settings (the defaults are often best). Click Create. The result will be a clip that can be imported into future projects.
  16. No auto-update, and there's no need to if what you have works well. You can always test drive the latest, and revert if you prefer an earlier version. Perhaps it was a bad installation, as that behavior hasn't been reported by others. Glad it worked out.
  17. Don't have and can't speak for W7, which debuted in 2009 and hasn't been supported since January of 2020, or why file sizes vary. Using v10.96 in Windows 11 (and W10 would likely be the same)... Imported dv4raw.avi; stabilized it (progressive/HDV); exported it as an mp4 at custom 720x480 or 720x540. Seemed fine, with no need for Handbrake. You might try W7 compatibility mode while in W10, but here those file sizes were comparable when testing a :30 snippet of your original AVI.
  18. Don't use text scroll. Animate instead... Keyframe 1... (click to enlarge) Keyframe 2... Fade to black transition at end... Text_scroll_diss.mp4
  19. If it still balks at exporting, that may hint at a PC problem. Try another, if available. Thanks.
  20. Perhaps something is being overlooked, but it plays and exports normally here, using VP version 10.96. Try that release for a clean cache and a clean start. Tested with your CROP, as well as SCALE and MOTION positioning. There's a gap at about 4:00 in track 2 after which no effect is applied to the Chrome Legacy Window, so the space background isn't seen.
  21. Load this one. That should be fixed. If the issue persists stop back here. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  22. If you have a 32-bit PC, download this version.
  23. Exported just fine in v10.96. Download and install the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If the issue persists, come back here.
  24. What VP version is being used? That process seems to be fine here - embedding a sequence two animated PNG image into sequence one. Try the latest VP version. Let's have a look, and someone will figure out what's going on. Share your project. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Overlay_sequence_embed.mp4
  25. An I3 is not an optimal processor for resource intensive video editing, but does okay on simple projects. Very high-def files, complex effects and lengthy efforts can be a struggle. Are you using the 64-bit VP version linked above? As requested, please upload what you have that demonstrates the issue, per the above instructions, so the project can be analyzed. Post the link here, or in private to me or c_major. Before loading the project, click OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Thanks.
