yes, use Express Rip to do that (nch.com.au/rip)
  2. what do you mean by "I downloaded LAME and placed the DLL on my path"? LAME comes with Switch, you don't need to download it - is there somewhere you read on our website that said you had to download the LAME .dll ? Try downloading Switch 1.05 and see if it makes any difference. Uninstall 1.04 first though. Also, Switch uses DirectX to decode your mp2 files, so if it is working one minute and not the next, check your DirectX installation hasn't become corrupted somehow.
  3. do what? please type in the normal sized font, you look like you're shouting.
  4. As far as wma compatibility in scribe goes, we believe we fixed it a while ago - if your recorder is creating the WMA files with copy protection, however, none of our software will likely be able to open it. Check the status of the copy protection by opening a wma file in media player and going to File menu -> Properties -> click on the "License" tab. If that is not the case, see if your wma files load in our software "Switch", which is a file converter program - nch.com.au/switch (I'm surprised you did not see Switch listed on our main page and had to use another file converter altogether).
  5. change the file extension of the file to .raw and try loading it in Switch.
  6. as it says in the switch documentation (which I'm sure you read), we don't support formats other than the ones listed there (in the documentation). You are welcome to suggest we support it in the suggestions thread in the switch forum, as long as you tell us what you know about it (i.e. saying "can you support ".it" files isn't enough).

    Change BitRate

are you trying to save to mp3 here? or keep it in .wav format? you only get asked to specify new settings in wavepad after you click file menu -> "save as...", and then enter the name of your new file.
  9. I'm not sure what you mean by "isolate audio" - isolate audio from what?

    New To This product

yes it is, wavepad will let you do what you want to do.
  11. You can do that yes, but using the Microphone port is not preferred, you are better using the Line In port. When you start recording in wavepad, the window that appears will allow you to set Line In as the source of the recording.
  12. GSM is not a Microsoft codec, it is a European Telecommunications Standard (ETS) codec. The .wav gsm codec follows the same standard as the .gsm codec.
  13. I have no idea - what are you trying to do? is this a question regarding a particular product of ours?
  14. unfortunately I can't suggest anything you can do sorry.
  15. Have you got switch 1.05 ? In the output folder field, there is an entry in the pull-down list called "[same as source file]", which converts your files to the same folder the original file is in.
  16. give me the link to the webpage and quote me the part where it says we supporting converting to wma. also tell me where on our forums we say that we support converting to wma. I will make sure the information is corrected if I find it to be in error. out of curiousity, why do you like wma better than mp3? you will get this error when converting to wma V1/V2 files - this format is nothing like what you want, it dates back to 1999, and uses the .wav extension. The latest wma encoder is WMA V9, and uses the .wma file extension. Anyway, that aformentioned error is caused by Windows incorrectly listing the WMAV1/V2 codecs as being installed, when in fact they aren't (the WMA V9 codecs are, just not the V1/V2 ones). To fix this problem for WMA V2, please go here and download the MPEG-4 codec pack: http://www.undercut.org/msmpeg4/ Install the codec pack and restart your machine, and then you will find that WMA V2 now works in Switch. I do not currently know where to locate a WMA V1 codec (you won't need it though).
  17. have you gotten it to work? what sort of example ascii input do you give it to produce a wave file?
  18. see the sticky thread about switch 1.05 to find a link to ogg directshow codecs that will allow you to play any proper ogg vorbis file fine in windows media player or other directshow players. why fruity loops is creating ogg files with a .wav extension I do not know, that is certainly odd.
  19. try getting the latest switch and doing it.
  20. just find out where the files are located on your computer, and drag them into the switch window. it is not possible to make our software interact with windows media player.
  21. what does 64k mean? 64kbps or 64kHz or something else? We haven't had any problems ourselves after installing XP SP2, but I'm sure some people do... unfortunately your sort of error is very difficult to resolve, and is often caused by something funny going on in your windows install, and may not be directly related to our software. The only thing I can really do is give you a diagnostic version of switch and have you try that.
