  1. Your project went well in 11.17 (32-bit), after about ten minutes to let it fully cache. Allow the blue bar (ribbon) under the preview window to turn purple. It may seem to hang for several minutes. Have patience. Once that's done open OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Do this before beginning a new project, but not when reloading the same project last worked on. You should get better results with a 64-bit release. Here's a beta to check out. If things still bog down, break up the project. Export the partial project, which will become a single file. Restart Videopad and clear the cache. Continue with the new segment. When complete, export it as well. Lastly, begin anew and import the exports into a new project which is then a simple assembly of a few clips. Export the final. In any case, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
  2. Maintenance releases are made sporadically. It's likely that you have the latest. Yes, simply over-install. Most every version can be handled that way. Submit a sample file or two for analysis.
  3. What version of the program is being used? Look at the bottom-left corner of the VP window. What is the average file size (HD/2K/4K)? How long is the project? Open OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Verify that the video driver and Direct-X are up to date... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html Install this version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Share your project and someone will check it out. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  4. You posted to the MAC forum. Assuming the O/S is actually Windows... This is the current 11.17. Reinstall it. Several MTS files tested just fine in that version here. Share your file and someone will check it out. Upload to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."

Standing by to see the file. In the interim... Open OPTIONS | MEDIA tab and UNcheck this box... https://content.invisioncic.com/r33241/monthly_2022_01/image.png.38f310025dd0cfb3e0bd7ac6f5bdd197.png Then close VP and reopen without loading any files. Open OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Close VP. Now try your project again.
  6. You tacked onto an old thread, where audio issues mentioned may have been fixed. So a new one has been started. What version of VP is running? Look at the opening screen or the left-bottom of the window. What is the format of the file? Open OPTIONS | MEDIA tab and UNcheck this box... Then close VP and reopen without loading any files. Open OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Close VP. Now try your project again. You can also try this version. If the problem persists, we need to see the file... 7. Okay, now it's been spotted - confirmed only on clip 2 lossless. More work to be done on that mode. Stay tuned to this thread. In the interim, use this version.

  10. Is this the thumb in the bin (top-left) or on the sequence - or both? Which mode: Storyboard or Sequence? Share the project, as instructed above, so we can see what you see.
  11. Here's a 360 rotation Export is solid, using the latest VP release. Please elaborate, per Nat's queries. Submit your file for analysis... Upload the file to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view." Untitled.mp4
  12. Install this version. If the issues aren't resolved, please share your project for analysis. Just follow these steps closely and someone will help you...
  13. Nat's method has an advantage. Since it imports a project, all parameters - text size, color, etc. - will be restored just as they were created, even if they have been changed in the text box.
  14. Very easy with Videopad. One approach would be to use the POSITION effect. At the head the image would be far left, for example - at the end far right. That would take just two keyframes. To apply this effect across several clips. first create a sequence of those clips. Then click the + sign on a Sequence tab to open a new blank sequence. Click the Sequences tab in the bin and add the first sequence to the one you just created. The clips in that sequence are now composited - a single clip to which the POSITION effect can be applied. This is but one method. Untitled.mp4
  15. Create your first clip. Then right-click that clip in the bin (top-left) and COPY. Right-click an open area of the bin and PASTE (Clip). Click on the new clip, which will have a (1) in its name. Then click on the text box. Swipe (highlight) the old text and type in the new. The original text clip won't be changed. If you need fades, program a transparency and apply it to the first bin clip. Then make a copy as instructed above. Position it as desired on the sequence and replace the text. Drag its handles to change the duration. Text parameters will be the same as long as they are not changed in the text compose window. Duration of new text boxes will be based on the image default setting - OPTIONS | MEDIA.
  16. If the stream dialog doesn't appear when the file is loaded right-click on the MKV file in the bin. Select Stream. For another channel, either import the file again or right-click | COPY on the existing file, then right-click | PASTE CLIP. Then select another stream. Audio level issues with the OPTIONS | NORMALIZE EXTERNAL function have also been addressed.
  17. It's unclear precisely what you intend. Programming for Pan & Zoom (or the Ken Burns effect) covers the entire clip - from Start to Ending positions. If you want to extend (freeze) the end take a snapshot of that frame and add the snap (which will be in the Images bin) after the clip. Or use the Motion effect to individually animate scale and position... Set the first scale and position, then click the green + sign to create a keyframe (dot). Move the cursor to where you want the freeze to be, then adjust the desired ending scale and position. Now preview the effect by dragging the cursor from left to right. The action should freeze at the final keyframe/s. For more on animation, look here. An example that starts at the top-left and is sized/positioned to full-screen in the middle of the clip... test.mp4

  20. The change log is sketchy. https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/versions.html All versions back to 11.08 were beta, until versions 11.17/18 were officially released. Here's the 64-bit version. It will solve your issue.
  21. No need to re-join. Select (highlight) all the clips that you want to effect. Click an FX icon on any one of those clips. Add the effect. If it doesn't immediately apply to all selected clips click the "replace effect chain..." box icon with the green check mark on the toolbar. Any time you make a mistake immediately press <ctrl-Z> to go back, step-by-step. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. Then you're protected and can use the VPJ to open the saved project.
  22. What Videopad version is being used? Lossless export is subject to these restrictions... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10288.html If using an unlicensed release mp4 may be blocked. Try AVI. Here's the latest. Install takes only seconds and your current version can be reinstalled. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. 23. Debut and VP use essentially the same capture routine. Allegedly the Debut team is aware of the issue and is working on it. Thanks for your help, and stay tuned to this thread.
  24. Thanks for your work. Try one more thing, using the beta (latest) version... Open OPTIONS | MEDIA tab and UNcheck this item. Disconnect Elgato, then launch VP, bring up the capture screen and reconnect/fire up the device.
