  1. Mac. I see. Still, if you can upload a VOB, as suggested, folks will test.

    Removing Text

AFAIK you don't. It is embedded into the video. If you have saved the project restore it, remove text, export.
  3. Best to start a new topic with descriptive subject. The latest is 4.58. Get it here, and see if the result is the same. If no change, can you upload one of the VOBs to a server, such as DropBox, GoogleDRIVE, MS OneDrive, etc. and link it here? Someone will check it out.
  4. Can you upload the video and overlay elements to a server and link them here - Dropbox, MS OneDrive, Google Drive? Folks will attempt to recreate your effort.
  5. Have you tried reinstalling the latest version? First consider purging all detritus from past attempts, using this tool.
  6. Download this to that folder and report result here please.
  7. Do you see the same results with the latest version? There have been many improvements.
  8. Video editing is resource intensive, but this shouldn't be happening. Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\Edit Plan Settings\Advanced Review the cooling and power settings. Also check the BIOS. HP support may be able to advise what power plan/settings to use for effective cooling.
  9. Looks good. Now to simplify that process.
  10. And yet another enhancement would be an option to size and soften background edges, from hard to a blur.
  11. If using the "editor only" options, you can split out the background clip to nearly match the length of the text overlay. Then create an opacity effect to dip the background. If using "text and background" option you can raise/lower the 'luma' slider at the far right of the color configuration box. Doesn't change opacity, but it may create a pleasing effect.
  12. Sequences can be imported into sequences..e.g.: Your sequences #s 1 and 2 can be imported into a (blank) sequence #3. If sequence #3 is exported, the result will contain ONLY what's in that sequence. Back up all your work, for safety.
  13. Right-click each audio clip and UNlink it from video. As you view, stop where desired and click the chevron to the right of the SPLIT button. Choose the desired audio-only track. This is where the audio excision will begin. Continue to view, and stop where you want audio to commence. SPLIT the audio track. Right-click and CUT the clip that contains the unwanted audio. Then review your work. To UNdo the previous steps click EDIT|UNDO or <ctrl-Z>.repeatedly. To save the change, click within the sequence and press <ctrl-A> to select all, then <ctrl-C> to copy. Open a new, blank sequence by clicking the + to the right of the sequence tab. Click on the blank sequence and be sure that the red line is at the far left. Press <ctrl-V> to paste. The new sequence will be identical to the one copied. Keep in mind that UNdo will apply only to changes made in THAT sequence, despite the fact that it's a copy of another sequence.

    Sequences

Did you first export (produce) the sequence/s, before adding them back into VP? If so, they are now simply CLIPS. Individual elements will not be accessible. Instead, choose FILE|BACKUP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER or SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS. When you click the VPJ file in the backup folder, the project will be reconstructed as it was when saved.
  15. Note response #2 in this thread, from c_major, who works for NCH. Why would such a short transition be needed?
  16. Simulating your description in VP 4.46... Loaded a linked A/V clip - track 1 Double-clicked the audio track, to bring it up in preview, then dragged the blue line downward by about 20% - to lower the volume. Loaded a music file onto audio track 2, without decreasing its gain. Track 2 played at full volume with track 1 in the background. Try that scenario, and don't mute track one prior to loading track 2. The result should look like this...
  17. Try Express Burn. Or, instead of burning, first choose to create an ISO file, which will contain the DVD layout. If you run Windows 10, you can right-click on that file and MOUNT. That opens a virtual DVD drive in the file manager, where the production can be viewed with a DVD-capable media player, such as Media Player Classic or VLC.. If things look good, use the ISO to burn the DVD with Express burn. Or try it with Windows 10. Right-click the ISO and choose "burn to DVD." If THAT approach yields the same dropouts, report back here.
  18. Do they appear in the media files area (top-left), under the audio tab? If yes, drag them to the timeline audio track or use the right-click menu. What format are these files?
  19. Look to the far left of the audio sequence track, at the speaker icon. Is it muted (red)? Click on it. And confirm that the volume control is set at a normal level.
  20. Place the inserts on the overlay track. If you have but one video track, this will create track two. Right-click the chevron to the right of the green arrow and "overlay on sequence at cursor." Higher video tracks override lower tracks, without disturbing audio. You can even fade the insert. Select it on the timeline, click its EFX button and click the TRANSPARENCY effect. Open the preset options box and choose FADE IN/OUT. Click the squiggly line to the right of the word "opacity" to see the keyframe trajectory. Nat tells you how here.
  21. If a clip on the timeline is too short the FADE and EFX buttons may not be shown. Select the clip, click VIDEO EFFECTS and apply a transparency, using keyframes. (Zero transparency at head of fade, 100% at end.) For the audio track, a right-click should list FADE IN/OUT.
  22. That does seem to be the case ... the end point is ignored when saved to a new audio file. As Nat suggests, after marking IN/OUT points in preview, drop the clip onto the timeline. Then click the SEQUENCE tab in the media area (top-left of the window). Right-click the clip and "save sequence as new audio file.".
  23. This is a video file that you have saved? Load it into the VP media area, then drop it into the timeline at the desired spot. You can split the existing video on the time line first, then insert at the split point if that suits your purpose. Under the preview window there are buttons that can be used to precisely line up the insert point of the new video with the split point.
  24. Is this evident in the exported (produced) file or simply in the preview window, where resolution may be limited?
  25. If possible, pack the project (VPJ and all elements) and put it up on a server - Dropbox, GoogleDrive, MSOneDrive, etc. - linking it here, and someone will analyze it.
