Consider simply placing the new clip on the next higher track. It can then be positioned as desired. But keep in mind that higher tracks overlay lower tracks, so the new clip will obscure what's on the track just beneath it. Once positioned, the new clip can be dragged down into the lower track. While holding down the mouse button, slide the clip: multiple arrows will appear, to show precisely where it will insert. Make a mistake? Press <ctrl-Z>.
  2. A variation... Place the pointer somewhere in sequence 1 and press <ctrl-A> <ctrl-C> to copy all. Click the + sign to the right of the sequence 1 tab or use SEQUENCE|NEW as Nat described. In the blank sequence 2, click in the timeline, then press <ctrl-V> to paste. The audio track will be visible.
  3. Yes, the PLACE options. Still, it would be handy to have the dropdown also available on a right-click of a media bin clip, where the pointer is already positioned.
  4. Yes, the reinstatement of that option would be welcomed.
  5. Don't have a Mac here. But, yes, if you see an option to delete cache files, try that.
  6. CLEAR UNUSED CACHE FILES, under OPTIONS|DISK and try again. If no joy, with your project on the time time line click FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT. Upload every file that results to DropBox, Google Drive, MS OneDrive or the like. Make the link public and post it here. Someone will check things out. If there are many files, zip them first, then upload the ZIP file.

    Combine Clips?

To copy a selected sequence from those in the BIN... In the bin, right-click|COPY on the sequence to be copied. Then, right-click anywhere in the bin and |PASTE CLIP(S) To copy the sequence that is displayed on the TIMELINE... In the toolbar click SEQUENCE, then DUPLICATE.
  8. Place the scrubber (red line) at the split point between the clips where you want the new one inserted. In the media bin, click on the clip to be inserted. Click the chevron to the right of the PLACE button and choose PLACE ON SEQUENCE AT CURSOR. Or... Hold down <alt> as you right-drag the clip that will follow the clip to be added. This will create a gap. Insert the clip there. Close any gaps by placing the pointer in the gap, right-clicking, and clicking on CLOSE GAP. Gaps may be easier to spot in Storyboard mode. If adjacent tracks are adversely affected when inserting the clip, lock them first by clicking the lock icon at the left of the track.

Is your intent to insert a clip between existing clips? Place the scrubber (red line) at the split point between the clips where you want the new one inserted. In the media bin, click on the clip to be inserted. Click the chevron to the right of the PLACE button and choose PLACE ON SEQUENCE AT CURSOR. Disable other tracks, if necessary, to keep them from being affected.
  10. Left-click the text in the preview window ... and drag it to any position.
  11. Higher tracks are overlays that take precedence over lower tracks. Thus, if pic A is on track 1 and an identically sized pic B on track two, only pic B would be seen. An example of what you have in mind... A video clip is placed on track one and a still image is on track 2. The FX button is clicked at the left-bottom of the still image clip in the time line on track 2, to bring up the effects editor. A scale effect is applied, to reduce the size of the image. As it's now smaller, track 1 video can be seen. A position effect is added, with keyframes, to animate the image - floating it from bottom-left to top-right. See http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/effects_animating.html A transparency (opacity) effect is added to allow the background to show through the still image. In this manner, any desired movements and sizes can be achieved. The result. The first half is the VP screen, showing the running effect; the second half is the exported project.
  12. Yes, there is a right-click (in the bin area)|NEW FOLDER choice. To learn how to post a screenshot here, click on the 'sticky' at the top of this forum: "Tips for Getting Help."
  13. The folder insert icon is definitely there, as shown circled in the above image. If it's missing, try a Videopad reinstall.
  14. Please post the URL to this tutorial. Clicking on the + sign that's to the right of the folder tabs, above the media bin, will create a new folder that you can name. If there is no + sign, reinstall Videopad.
  15. If the recording was over-driven there's little to be done but reduce volume. VP inputs the file without altering sound, unless you change it. Click the FX button at the bottom-left of the sound track, then click the large green + at the upper-left of the effects window. Choose either AMPLIFY or NORMALIZE, and move the slider to the left to reduce volume. If no joy, please upload a sample, per c_major's suggestion. Be sure to make it public, and post the link here.
  16. Tried the SCALE effect? Note the Select Preset option and the Maintain Aspect Ratio toggle.
  17. Click HOME on the toolbar. To the right of the OPEN button, click the chevron. A project file has a VPJ extension. Double-click it to load a project. See if the VPJ that you need is there. Also look for a VPJ file in DOCUMENTS folder: "C:\Users\<your account>\Documents\VideoPad Projects" And in "C:\Users\<your account>\AppData\Local\Temp" Last resort: do a search of the PC - for any VPJ files. It's wise to SAVE AS regularly, and for good measure FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO A FOLDER. Good luck!
  18. Click on the OPTIONS button, then on the DISK tab. Click the Clear Unused Cache Files button. Then try exporting once again. If no luck, follow these steps... 1. Click FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT. 2. Zip all the files that result. 3. Upload the ZIP file to a free server, such as MS OneDrive, Google Drive, DropBox, etc. 4. Make the link to the file public and post it here and someone will check out your project. You might also try installing the latest VP, though export choices may be limited. Retain your 5.21 install file in case you want to revert to that version.
  19. It's possible that there was some 'corruption' in VP's cache. Clearing it prior to beginning a new project isn't a bad idea. This can be done automatically in OPTIONS|DISK.
  20. Hi Nat, Placed the dot dead center of the letter (see above) as in your pic. Vertical setting: -10.00 in this case, but tested your -16.00 as well, with and without the rotation element. The thumbs do vanish, but only momentarily. This with beta 6.10.
  21. So, after clearing the VP cache, it IS working okay?
  22. What VP version is being used? What file type is the mountain footage? Does it differ in any way from the other files/clips? Try CLEAR UNUSED CACHE FILES, under OPTIONS|DISK. Will take awhile to propagate the time line thereafter.
  23. Humm...didn't do that here, using the latest beta.
