  1. Odd. You can link your project to me privately via the personal messaging feature, if that's feasible. Click the envelope at the top-right of the window. Only other thought that comes to mind is to upgrade the PC. With an I5 or I7 processor and 8Gb or more of RAM there should be a considerable improvement. In lieu of that, try different export formats and lower resolutions, if they are applicable to your presentation.
  2. Video editing is resource intensive and your system may be holding you back. But that doesn't explain the discrepancy between "a couple hours" and 19 - unless the latter contained comparatively more effects, transitions etc. Though it is lengthy, suggest again that you upload the project, per the link above, so others can analyze it. Be sure to make it public (share) and post a link here.
  3. Possible causes. VideoPad has been known to crash due to problems with older graphics card drivers. If you are experiencing frequent crashes then you should download and install the latest drivers for your graphics hardware and update to the latest version of DirectX. AMD / ATI users: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Intel users: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx nVidia users: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Update DirectX: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/179113 Upload the project and share it, as suggested in the other thread. Someone will check it out. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/
  4. You should be good for free updates for up to six-months after registering. Retain your old installer and give the latest a try. Be sure that there's sufficient free space on the hard disk. What are your PC's specs: CPU, GPU, RAM, etc.? It should not take 20 hours to complete that video. If you'd like to share the project, so someone can check out export, follow the portable project upload instructions here. And check out this thread.
  5. One way would be to download a PNG circle image via an image search and place it on track 2 (the overlay track). Another approach... Download a high-contrast circle. Place your text on track one and the circle on track two. Click on FX in the circle clip on the timeline. When the effects editor opens click the large green + at the top-left and choose GREEN SCREEN. Use your mouse to maneuver the color picker in the preview window to the background area. Click. The background should vanish. Adjust the sliders for best presentation. Using either method, employ the SCALE, POSITION or other effects as needed.
  6. Believe that the intent was to wait for release of beta 7.02. Although the pre-release site lists a specific version, that's often just a placeholder. When you download look at the version # before installing. When 7.02 pops up, then install.
  7. Be sure that you are running the latest VP version. No clue as to why your export was not successful. It was here.
  8. Loaded your .mov project and it played fine on the timeline. Then exported it as an mp4. No issues. If you have another project that did not succeed, upload it in the same way.
  9. If a song was added, then it isn't linked to the video track. That said, to unlink simply right-click each clip and click UNLINK video from audio (or audio from video). The "lock" symbol is among the icons just to the left of the audio track. Locking UNlinked audio should not affect the ability to edit the video track.
  10. You link to the result, but what's needed to run your project is the portable project itself, per the instructions in the link above. Upload all the files that result after using FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS. Then share the link here.
  11. If possible, share your project so someone can take a look. Instructions here: http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ Use the latest VP version and be sure to save your project.
  12. 1. Your project is whatever is on the timeline after editing is complete. You may have used one or many files for the project. 2. The clips that are on the timeline are saved as a portable project folder, likely to your DOWNLOADS folder on the PC. There will also be a VPJ control file. Pay no mind to file type. Upload that folder to the server. Or you can open the folder and upload every file that it contains. No need to zip. 3. If you have a Microsoft account - perhaps the one used to sign in when you fire up your PC - then use their OneDrive server. In a browser go to http://onedrive.com. Sign in if necessary or create an account. Then click the FILE menu at the left. At the top of the window click the UPLOAD button. The File Explorer window will appear. Go to the folder where you saved the portable project and upload every file. 4. Right-click on the saved file that results. Click SHARE, then GET A LINK. Copy that link and post it here.
  13. Results should be consistent. It's not difficult to upload a project. As suggested earlier, just follow the Instructions here ... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ You do not have to zip the portable project files. After uploading just be sure to share them ALL (make them public), including the VPJ file. Upload a project that failed, and someone will check it out.
  14. Good thought from Miggy. It may help to lock the audio track. Click the lock symbol at the left. Then proceed with edits, knowing that the song won't be affected.
  15. Not surprised. There are decoding issues (in this case the length discrepancy) with that file type that are being addressed.
  16. No clue why the mp3 is longer; 1:10:06 is the length shown when the original AVI is loaded into WavePad. Developers are aware of the VP audio issue.
  17. 4:56 is where the sound cuts out here. Reported.

    Editing VFR

Share one of your video projects that won't play after export. Upload the project files to a server per the instructions here. Someone will check it out.
  19. Merge projects Automatic Project Merge If a template sequence contains placeholder clips (accessed in Home Tab -> Add Objects -> Add Placeholder Clip), then you can use the automatic merge feature to quickly substitute the placeholders with your own clips. Place your desired clips on Video Track 1 and/or Audio Track 1. Access the dropdown on the Templates button on the Home tab's tool bar. Press Merge Open Project with VideoPad Project... which will bring up the file explorer. Select any project which has placeholder clips in it. The selected project will be merged into the current project and the merged result will appear on a new sequence. Placeholder video clips in the template project will be replaced by your clips on Video Track 1, and placeholder audio clips will be replaced by any unlinked audio clips on Audio Track 1. Only placeholders on Video Track 1/Audio Track 1 will be substituted. Any effects, transitions or fades that were applied to the clips in the template will be preserved in the resulting merged sequence. If an overlay in the template ends exactly where a video placeholder ends, then in the merged result the corresponding overlay will have been stretched or shortened, if possible, to match the length of the substitute clip.
  20. When editing is complete you can export the project in any number of formats. The amount of time it takes varies by format, project length and other factors. If export results in only audio, then obviously something went wrong. Please share your project, per the instructions here, and someone will take a look. Indicate what file format and resolution were used for your attempt. Use version 7.01, released on 2/7/19.
  21. Irrespective of what the track labels may say, higher tracks - those nearer the top of the window - take precedence over tracks below.
  22. Higher-numbered tracks take precedence (overlay) those below, so fades must be specified for both tracks to achieve the desired result.
  23. No, it's not necessary to uninstall. In fact, if you have the latest version already installed, just go to the FILE menu, click on REGISTER SOFTWARE and input your code.
  24. ** UPDATE ** Tested your original file on the 7.01 release version (as of 2/7/19), and it loaded.
