  1. There is a six-month window for free upgrades. There's no expiration on the version that your purchased. You may be able to install and register a later version - released within the window - but that's not necessary. Reinstall your original version and input the code. The installer should be located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\VideoPad". If you cannot locate it, post again with the version #.
  2. Two H264 (mp4) encodings were tested.
  3. You could install the MPC player, which handles most file types https://mpc-hc.org/ The VLC player is also popular. http://tinyurl.com/y47dq4oj As for WMP issues, check into the Microsoft WMP forum. http://tinyurl.com/y3xc2q2k
  4. Hints that the MED800X3D doesn't play nicely with VP's H264 encoder. But at least you have a workaround.
  5. Downloaded your file and played it with both Windows Media Player and MPC-HC. No problems with either. Apparently there is nothing wrong with the VP export.
  6. No play limit. You are exporting as a DVD Movie Disk ... or are you exporting as a Data Disk? What VP version? Here's the latest. Upload the project (not the export) and someone will check it out. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/
  7. Upload your exported file - or the project (per the above instruction) - and someone will take a look.
  8. In the export dialog box, be sure that Save to Folder specified exists. For example...

Update to the latest version, while retaining your original install file. Fixes have been implemented. If no joy, follow this procedure to upload (share) your project files for review.
  10. No play issue on the PC at the settings you specified. But, of course, it cannot be tested here on your standalone player. That said, using those same settings the video file was burned to a CD and looked fine on a 51" screen driven by a Blu-Ray standalone player. Suggest that you instead output an H264, Mp4 at 60fps variable, 1920 x 1080 which most closely matches the source file. You might also export try 30fps constant or 60fps constant. Report your results here.
  11. Some export formats may still be available for you in the trial version. But no need to export in order for someone to run your project.
  12. Whatever is on the timeline - THAT'S the project. Follow the instructions above and someone will test it by exporting at your specified 1280x720, 29.97 fps, H264 settings. Suggest also that you test export using the latest version of VP. Many improvements/fixes have been made since v5.x. Retain the install file of your current version.
  13. Let's see your project (not the export). Instructions - http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ Be sure to share it, then paste the link here.
  14. Load your project onto the timeline. Click FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT (to a convenient folder on the PC) Upload the resultant folder or all its files to a free server, such as Microsoft OneDrive. http://onedrive.com. Create an account if you do not already have one. Once the file thumbnail shows a green check mark, right-click the file and click SHARE A ONEDRIVE LINK. Paste that link here.
  15. If there are to be video clips that have unwanted audio, right-click them on the timeline and UNLINK. Then delete the audio clips. In the example below an song has been placed on the audio track. The track can be locked with the lock icon at its left. Once that's done, no video edits will affect it. Note the three video clips on track one. Because there are gaps between them, each has an f symbol and an X symbol. To fade in a clip, click the f and set the duration. To fade it out, click the X, choose FADE and set duration. If the clips are contiguous (no gaps), only the first will have an f, to fade it in. For subsequent clips, use the X and choose FADE, CROSSFADE or another transition. If the video clips are to be seen over a background, place the background material on track 1. If fades are desired, the inserted clips on track two can be handled as described above. Wherever they are placed on track two, they will be seen in place of the background or, in the case of text, superimposed because higher tracks overlay (take precedence) over lower tracks. Check out the many VP tutorials here.
  16. Right after export. What was the export format and resolution? Please share your failed project, per the earlier linked instructions (Tips for Getting Help on this forum - sticky at the top of the page) and someone will take a look.
  17. Lay down the audio track, then lock it by clicking the lock symbol to the left of its track. Then do the video editing. The audio will be undisturbed. Does that work for you?
  18. Instead of ranting, you'd be better served by working with folks... 1. You say "my computer is great." What are its specs? 2. As for slow reprocessing, what are the file sizes? With large files it's common practice to use proxy editing. http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/26563-proxy-editing/ This will lessen buffering significantly. 3. Several 40+ minute videos, with numerous splits, have completed here in less than 1/2 hour. What export format was used, what resolution? Share your project, even as a private personal message to me or the developers, and folks will check it out. If there's a defect, it will be fixed. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ 4. If you purchased recently, you can request a refund. https://www.nch.com.au/general/refund.html
-0-0- Some YouTube acceptable export formats may be enabled. Try an AVI or MPG video, then use their uploader. The VP "free" (unlicensed) trial version has limitations. The best thing is to buy, and have the use of all the features and export formats.
  20. Applying speed change or reverse to a clip, then exporting it alone may be best. When the result is imported the effect is embedded and VP will have no issue with it.
  21. Glad the issue was solved. If you get a complimentary license, chances are it will be good for six months of free upgrades, just as if you had purchased.
  22. Both A/V of your file now load correctly in VP7.02 beta.
  23. Share your project and someone will check it out. Here's how: http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ Be sure to make the folder public and link it here. VideoPad has been known to crash due to problems with older graphics card drivers. If you are experiencing frequent crashes then you should download and install the latest drivers for your graphics hardware and update to the latest version of DirectX. 24. Odd. You can link your project to me privately via the personal messaging feature, if that's feasible. Click the envelope at the top-right of the window. Only other thought that comes to mind is to upgrade the PC. With an I5 or I7 processor and 8Gb or more of RAM there should be a considerable improvement. In lieu of that, try different export formats and lower resolutions, if they are applicable to your presentation.
