  1. That will be a stretch, especially on a free server whose limit may be 15GB at most. You can attempt it, but don't bet on success.
  2. Try your export as AVI. If that does not succeed, back up the project, then install this version. If you have paid and licensed, just register your key by clicking the 3-lined 'hamburger' menu at the top-left, then FILE, then Register Software. Post here if problems persist.
  3. Share it, and a solution will be found. We need to see the project (not the export) just as you do, fully loaded to the timeline. Please follow the PORTABLE PROJECT instructions here... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ You need to get a SHAREABLE link, as it's requesting permission. It won't be seen publicly here. Be sure that this is the portable project and not the exported result. Thanks.
  4. Share the project. Someone will check it out. Much larger projects have been uploaded, shared and analysed in this manner, and a fix is often found.
  5. Try the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If behavior still snaps, and you find that annoying, simply reinstall the new version REPEATEDLY until a gap is created when moving clips, without using <alt>. This may take a half-dozen or more tries, as slightly different features are randomly implemented when VP is installed. No need to download again.
  6. When DSC.0002 was converted to MP4 with the MPEG4 compressor it then exported as lossless. But only a single test was made. Lossless will certainly speed up export, but otherwise the project should look about the same as the source files if exported / re-encoded at the same resolution, IMO. Experimentation should reveal whether recording at a format other than MOV will achieve your goal. Share your findings here.
  7. What version of VP is being used? What is is the resolution of the bulk of the source files? And, as Nat queries, what are the export settings? The best way to track this down is to share the project, if it's not more than a few GB. This doesn't take long, isn't difficult and can be private. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to get a shareable link to post.
  8. Unlock the audio track first and see if the Close Gap option appears. Also scan the entire overrun to be sure there's no snippet of a clip somewhere in that area.
  9. Right-click in the blank space and CLOSE GAP IN SEQUENCE.
  10. Both files are MOV. For each, sometimes they succeed as lossless, at other times not. Inconsistent results.
  11. Don't know that we'd be able to tell, without analysis from the developers - which may be possible. But we can confirm whether lossless works for that clip. Upload and share it please. What version of VP is being used. Try the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  12. Do that, as a PORTABLE project, not the exported version.
  13. MOV is a container. Lossless will depend upon how the file was encoded. Most MOV files here failed, while several succeeded. Chances are that your issue is the same. Upload a test file to a free server, get a shareable link and post that link here.. Someone here will examine it.
  14. The following criteria must be met by the input/output videos for lossless export to be used: VP currently supports H.264 and MPEG4 encoder video sources. The output format must match the input format. Supported formats are .avi, .mkv, .mov, .mp4 The output and input must have the same dimensions, encoder profile, levels and extradata. Visual effects are not supported. Any segments of your video that include visual effects will be re-encoded. At least 10% of your sequence must meet the criteria for lossless editing. If less than 10% of the sequence meets the criteria, the entire sequence will be re-encoded during export. Lossless export provides the highest quality video. It does this by re-encoding your video file only when required.

    No audio at all

A strange case. Tough to troubleshoot if it cannot be replicated. Your project was just now reloaded into version 8.42 and it played fine, as always. Other than a rather lengthy caching and export time, possibly slowed by numerous MOV format files, there appears to be nothing odd. Though this is mainly an audio issue that besets later VP versions on your PC, considering updating the video driver and Direct-X, if needed. Update DirectX: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/179113 AMD / ATI users: http:/support.amd.com/us/gpudowload/Pages/index.aspx Here is that project. Download it. Unzip if necessary, Open the resulting folder and run the VPJ to load it into Videopad. Does it play? Here is a very low-res export, just to confirm that all content was available. A shame that you cannot test this on another machine, using 8.42. https://www.nch.com.au/general/refund.html
  16. Interesting and odd. Share a project that does this and we'll check it out.
  17. Merely a suggestion to Alexander, to check out new features that he might like. Folks who contribute here are mostly users just like yourself.
  18. Can't say why it's running poorly, and it is wise to edit and export a project from the same, or a close version. But substantial improvements and enhancements have been made since 4.x. Upload a trial version of 8.42 here. Retain your old install file and registration info. Under OPTIONS | EDITING tab, toggle "use hardware accelerated video effects..." and see if that makes a difference. Also, before loading a new or long-unsed project, click OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Then load the project and let it fully cache (solid green line above most thumbnails) before beginning to edit. Also, if you share your sluggish project, someone will be glad to test it on their system. This is easy, quick and can be private. Don't upload the export, just the PORTABLE project folder. Here's how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive material link it in a personal message (PM). Click the envelope above. It won't be passed on or retained. Use FILE|SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS, not simply SAVE PROJECT, and don't forget to share it.
  19. Can't say what VP will offer in the future, but it's likely that the voice-to-text feature will be improved. As for on-line apps, just upload your video file. No need for VP at that stage. With 'Happy', after processing there's an option to create an SRT file, which then can be imported into VP or a viewer like MPC-BE. In VP drop the source video onto the sequence, then click the SUBTITLES button on the toolbar that's under the HOME menu. Click FILE in the subtitles menu bar and LOAD SUBTITLE FILE. Find the SRT and import it. Under the Format tab font, alignment, color, size changes can be applied.
  20. Does a reinstall help? The Register item should be at the bottom of the FILE menu drop-down list. If not, https://www.nch.com.au/support/regcontact.html
  21. VP has a subtitle auto-generator but it's not usable at this time, IMO. There are numerous on-line tools that can handle this. This one can create an SRT file to be be imported into VP, corrected where needed and formatted as desired. If exported from VP with subtitles, they will be open captions. But certain players, like MPC-BE, can also import an SRT file, and turn CCs on or off.
  22. Yes, that page isn't current. Consider filing a suggestion or bug report by clicking the chevron at the top-right of the Videopad window. The beta link may offer the same release as the VP download page even though the version # listed - essentially a placeholder - may be higher at times. After download, the actual version can be determined by right-clicking it and choosing PROPERTIES | DETAILS.
  23. Only a single VP program can be installed to an operating system drive. Install another and it will overwrite the first. Normal install is to C:\ Check out this thread. It might be relevant.
  24. What is the format and resolution of those clips? What version of Videopad is being used? With the sequence as complete as possible - including the frozen clips - please upload the project so someone can analyse it. This isn't difficult, takes but a few minutes and can be private.
  25. What version of Videopad? There's been no pattern linking crashes (rare) with the number of tracks. Update to the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.. VideoPad has been known to crash due to problems with older graphics card drivers. If you are experiencing frequent crashes then you should download and install the latest drivers for your graphics hardware and update to the latest version of DirectX.
