Have you checked out the many options listed on the Video Quality/Bitrate drop-down screen?

For PC Auto Play the specific DVD app needs to be configured. Click the chevron; it should be in the drop-down list. Or open the app and then open the DVD, as suggested earlier. For your stand-alone DVD/TV player it may be necessary to switch to the Video, External media or DVD source. Every set up is different. Once that is done on the Samsung here the DVD menu pops up on screen. Hit play, and it happens. Stop by the Express forum.

The overlay PNG isn't the same A/R as other content. Having consistent A/R makes things easier. You may see a slight horizontal crop outline. It can be minimized by trimming vertical parameters slightly with the chevrons to the right of the sliders. Horizontal crop may be trimmed as well, if the PNG doesn't overlay precisely. Go with what the SEQUENCE window shows. Export should be the same.

As it was being edited, what was the preview screen resolution setting? Assuming that you wanted it to end up as a vertical display - as with a phone - my guess is that rendering of extensive effects and mostly very wide screen source files into that resolution has maxed out VP's current memory capabilities. The 64-bit version, likely coming this year, should overcome that. Next go-round experiment with first converting all files to the same A/R. In the bin, right-click on each and CHANGE ASPECT RATIO. See how that works out.

Is one of those DVD players set to Auto Play in Windows? Open Control Panel | Auto Play and configure it. You can also simply open the player, click its FILE menu and Open DVD (or similar, depending upon the player) In VP, a DVD Movie was created here and 'burned' to ISO. When the ISO file was double-clicked in Windows 10 it created a virtual drive letter. Then MPC-BE player was pointed to that drive and successfully opened the DVD. In Windows 10 right-clicking on the ISO should offer to burn the disk. If instead you need Express Burn for more extensive features, check into that forum. A test write from VP directly toa DVD Movie also did the job.

In the v8.45 incarnation here, a double-click on the timeline clip brings up the editor. (There can be UI differences, even with the same release #.) A right-click lists the EDIT TEXT choice. After the source is selected in the bin, a right-click in the preview windows does the same.

Yes, tough to diagnose if the issue cannot be replicated by others. A short PORTABLE project that demonstrates the fault is useful, but not a video result. You have described it well. When you are ready to experiment, reinstall the latest.. In loading a brand new project, click the OPTIONS menu, then the DISK tab. Clear Unused Cache Files. You also might want to toggle the ON/OFF settings for hardware acceleration, under OPTIONS | EDITING, to see if that has an effect.

Heard word that the AVI sync issue is known and tough to fix. The Mp4 alternative should work for you.

Okay on the blank file. Now the files are all there; perhaps my mistake earlier. On the two white 'cover' page insertions on track 2... Click the FX icon on each. Click the large green + sign. Scroll down to Aspect Ratio Transforms and click LETTERBOX TO ASPECT RATIO. Click the chevron to the right of the words "Aspect Ratio" and choose 9:16. That takes care of it.

Whatever is on the timeline is what SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS should see. Be sure that the full project is loaded. The png file is just a blank white page and these files are missing.

Using this version, they play just fine here. Can spot no irregularities. Two things to try... Under OPTIONS | DISK tab Clear Unused Cache Files. If no joy, shut down Videopad and delete all the files in these folders... Pan and Zoom don't work quite that way - a graph can't be plotted. Select the START frame. Then drag the box and it's handles to where you want it to begin. Select the END frame. Drag the box or its handles to where you want to end. Click in the PRESET field and a drop-down box offers many choices. Experiment.

No need to uninstall. Installs always overwrite the current version. Back up your project routinely using SAVE PROJECT FILE AS, and give it a unique # and name, so as to not overwrite an older version that you might later need. If SAVE PROJECT (no "as") is used, it will overwrite. It's very common to see the term "free download." But that often doesn't mean that the app is free. It's usually a free trial period. Videopad is actually more generous than some as it will continue to function with limitations for an indefinite period.

Not seeing that behavior here in 8.42 or 8.45. Please click the OPTIONS menu, DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Version 8.23 is here. There is no "8.3."
