  1. Verify that the video driver and Direct-X are current... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html Install the latest VP version. Test on another PC, if available.
  2. Using your original slide with version 10.36(32-bit), Nat's settings resulted in this preview and export... The uneffected image looked just like the original. So unable to replicate your result. What video card or adapter is installed?

What version of VP is being used? Try the latest. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. What's the format of the clip: mp4, MOV, AVI ?? If no change, please share a file that has the issue. Someone will check it out. Upload the file to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  4. What version of VP is being used? Look at the start-up screen or the left-bottom corner of the Videopad window. Same result here. Original displays in PV just as above. Export, after contrast/brightness/gamma have been tweaked per Nat, is darker.
  5. Post a link to a screenshot. Upload the screenshot to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view." Install the current version, if possible.
  6. Not here. This is the current version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Changes in contrast, brightness, etc. immediately display in the preview window and carry through to export. When closing the effects box be sure that you are not inadvertently canceling the effect by clicking the X to the right of the effect name.
  7. FX added should always show up in both PV and export.
  8. Each of your links appears to contain exactly the same two Handbrake and a VP files. Try the mpeg4 encoder for mp4. Perhaps the Mac will handle that better. Click the Default Quality/Filesize blue link in the export dialog box. You might also test various Video Bitrate settings, in lieu of "Default Quality."
  9. What export format was used? Try MOV. Both your links appear to lead to the same two files. Here's the comparison...
  10. If the sequence cursor doesn't move, first click the video track of that clip - or click the clip in the bin. Then left-click to bring up the audio waveform in the Clip Preview window. A right-click will also work, but will invoke a drop-down menu. Check out the audio ducker. Click the OPTIONS menu | AUDIO tab to adjust it for best effect. To enable it, right-click on the audio track to be ducked - likely the music track - and tic Takes some experimentation, but works well. Here's an example... Ducker.mp4

  12. It completely fades here. Let's see the project... Share your project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server. On the Home toolbar, click BLANK CLIP. test.mp4
  13. A PM works, perhaps copied to C_major. It won't be made public.
  14. Your Zoom out looks good in 10.55 beta. Give it a go, but keep in mind that this is a test release that may have undiscovered bugs.
  15. Using the fade icon seems to do the job here in the latest 10.54(64) release. Complete fade to black. Alternatively, add a short blank, black clip at the end and fade or crossfade to it.
  16. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AuSetTxgq7JxqNsdqdg1U2lOKMgSig?e=EZUOQp Where is the AVI? This links only to the VPJ control file .
  17. If that doesn't do the job for you, download and install this.
  18. Sometimes the 32-bit, at others the 64 is offered when clicking this link on the main download page. Mouse-over the link; if it doesn't list "64" then it's 32.

  20. Good to hear. Keep in mind... Clear the cache before starting a new project. Allow the new material to fully load and cache (completed green lines above all video clips and, under preview, the line changes color). Once done, reloading will be quick, if no other project has been loaded since. Don't load clips that won't be used in the project. Consider using Proxies. Speed improvements are under constant development, so use the latest 64-bit version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  21. What version is being used? Precisely which text is in question? Share that project, please. Someone will check it out. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  22. If necessary, hold down <alt> when trimming the start of the clip and it should leave a gap, with other clips unaffected. This behavior may vary from release to release, or even when reinstalling the same version.
  23. Normally, adding cut-ins on an overlay track won't move existing clips. Yet they can be grouped: Select clips, then right-click | GROUP SELECTED CLIPS. Or, simply right-click at the left of the overlay track and temporarily LOCK TRACK. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. If you make a mistake, immediately press <ctrl-Z> (EDIT | UNDO) to go back, step-by-step.
  24. You must have beefed up your box, Nat.😄 HEC's 10 second zoomed image exported at default 1080 settings with v10.43. Zoom_test.mp4 Now, using Pan & Zoom... P & Z.mp4
  25. Another approach... Pre-produce a zoomed clip, then place it on the timeline after another clip. Under OPTIONS | EDITING tab choose ASK ME for the default video transition. Now specify a Crossfade between the clips. If a prompt appears; choose OVERLAP. Be aware that this choice, as contrasted with FREEZE, may slightly change sync, if that's a factor at that point in your project.
