  1. Using v10.75 cannot spot an issue. Here is an OUTside mask that hasn't been tweaked to outline the bird... This is what you probably truly want - a chromakeyed (green screen) bird over a background...
  2. Here's a little example of a masked doggie over a gradient blue background. Mask INside in UNchecked... In the effects box, click on the Transparency bar (not the Polygon Mask bar) to display the result in preview. Try the latest version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  3. Checked both v10.75 and 10.84 here and was unable to replicate your result. Track one - the background image Track two - the masked image, with an added transparency effect Please share a file or two that has the issue. Someone will check it out. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  4. Video editing is resource intensive. One site's recommendations... Memory/ RAM: 8-32 GB RAM (ideally at minimum 16GB) Processor: Multi-core Intel i5/i7/i9 preferably with 4 or more processor cores. Storage: At least 256 GB hard drive, 7200 RPM, preferably SSD. On lesser systems VP handles simple productions well. Realistically, noise reduction is unsuitable for anything more than a short clip, as the pop up warns... A few seconds after making changes, they should be evident in preview. Toggle presets, to test. But your video doesn't appear to be truly noisy and might benefit more from the Auto Fix effect. Fades need to be added on a second export pass as Auto Fix removes them. The result has some noise, but contrast and brightness are markedly improved. To save time and improve quality the exports are at 1024x576. Further improvement may be realized If this export is then reloaded and then put through the noise reduction process (50% noise / zero smoothing). But the NR improvement likely isn't worth the six-hour processing time. A simpler alternative, with similar results, may be had via the Color adjustment effect. Experiment with settings similar to these, and a 1080 export...
  5. You have tacked on to a very old thread. Loss of audio can be due to a number of factors. If you have a specific file or project that has no audio (or video) please start a new thread and post a link to your content. Someone will check it out.
  6. Confirmed. But you now know how to work around it. File a bug report... https://www.nch.com.au/software/bug.html?software=VideoPad
  7. Your mp4 clip was tested a half-dozen times - both clip and preview capture - and the issue couldn't be replicated here, using the beta release. The frame being shown in preview appeared to be the same as that captured.
  8. Tested for both clip and sequence capture in beta version 10.84, the snapshots appear to be accurate. What version of Videopad is being used there? Please supply a file that does this.
  9. There's no mandate to update, and new features can always be checked out by downloading the latest, unlicensed. Just retain the old license, which should be valid if you want to reinstall the version that you purchased. It should fully perform as before, and not expire. There's no need to pay again. If there are issues, use this form... https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html Export may be disabled after the trial period non-registered versions. Try the AVI format for export. Or install the free, limited feature release linked above, and try AVI.
  10. Do not select by swiping. There should be no blue highlighted area, as that serves another function. (Right-click the blue area for options.) Select by clicking the clips, as noted above. If necessary, and it usually isn't, right-click a selected clip and GROUP SELECTED CLIPS. If audio and video are linked, they will both move in unison, unless first unlinked via the right-click menu on either their video or audio track. To deselect a specific clip, hold <ctrl> and click that clip. For protection, Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
  11. Don't swipe. Select (highlight) each file, using typical Windows methods. First, place the scrubber (red-line) at the left. Hold down <ctrl> and click each independently or click the first, then hold down <shift> and click the last - to select them all. Then drag the clips to the right. drag.mp4
  12. Click the arrow on the red line, then click the blue ] bracket to define the end of a sequence. Or expand the timeline and select the unwanted snippet. Press the <DEL> key.
  13. Yes, that's one approach, though it won't create individually trimmed clips in the bin and can prove confusing. As noted above, one alternative... Import the master clip to the bin (top-left) and select (highlight) it. Don't trim it. Press <ctrl-C> Same as EDIT | COPY. Click an open area of the bin. Press <ctrl-V> Same as EDIT | PASTE. Make as many copies as you will be needing to trim. Each numbered copy in the bin can then be individually trimmed with SET START, SET END, renamed if desired, and dropped onto the timeline. And another method that also works well... Place the master clip on the timeline and split out the desired sections. Drag each to the bin where they will be incrementally numbered. Hover the pointer over the bin clip if necessary to see the (1), (2), etc. numbers. The clips will vanish from the timeline. Then drop the trimmed clips back into the timeline where desired. The individual clips will remain in the bin, so the result is much the same as the first method.
  14. A test of beta version 10.82 shows the project to be in sync. Give it a try, with the proviso that this is a test release that may have undiscovered glitches. Retain your current installer and registration.
  15. If the project is now working well there's no need to split it up. For protection, always Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the chevron to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. This generates a unique VPJ control file (not playable) that is used to load a project, and is not the same as exporting.
  16. "Limited disc space" That's a clue. And for a project like that use the 64-bit VP version, as linked above. 100 MB available space is often listed, but 5-10GB would be better, to allow for caching of your lengthy project. This can be on a separate drive. If that's the case there, under Videopad OPTIONS | DISK tab point the cache folder to that external drive. You may do well to break up the project into more usable ten-minute sections, and export each. They become clips, where all transitions and effects have been processed. Later, assemble those clips for a final export. This should considerably lessen the load on your system. Feel free to regularly click OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. And do not load any clips that will not be used for the project - they just take up resources.
  17. If you cannot open Videopad, then searching for "C:\Users\<your PC name>\AppData\Local\Temp\VideoPadCache" with Explorer won't find it. Instead press the Windows key and the R key together. In the RUN box at the bottom-left of the screen type %temp%. Under the subfolder VideoPadCache there may be many files. Delete them. Do the same for the files in the VideopadSoundCache subfolder. Did you install this version? Video editing is resource intensive, especially if a project is lengthy or has many effects/transitions. Confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are up to date. https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html
  18. Right-click the audio track of the clip and.... Then split out the unwanted audio segment and press the DEL key (or right-click | Delete).
  19. After copying the split-out clip, click the + sign on the Sequence tab above the timeline, to create a blank Sequence 2... Paste the clip into that new sequence. Each sequence can be exported independently.
  20. Why the original did not work is a puzzlement as your other mp4 file did. No doubt both were created in the same manner. FYI, your file also succeeded after simply changing its extension to AVI. Simple. If that's done and the project is loaded it will ask to resolve the missing 0005.mp4. Just point it to the newly named 0005.AVI. The issue is being looked into. If the developers offer insight it will be passed along here.
  21. Same here. What program or app created it? What were the settings?
  22. Right click on the attached video and Save File As. Give it the exact same name as the original, then substitute it for the one in your project. Do this using Windows Explorer (the file manager). Open the folder with the original file, right-click it and rename with a .bak extension. Then copy the new file into that folder. Or load the project as is into Videopad. In the timeline, right-click on the file and REPLACE CLIP FILE. Windows Explorer appears. Double-click the new .0005.mp4. Now load and export the project. My Video - 0005.mp4

After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If it still freezes, take a minute to share the project and someone here will analyze it. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  24. Install this version and report back. If this doesn't solve the issue, someone will if you take a minute to share your project. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately.
