  1. There's no mandate to update, and it's often wise to wait for a few weeks, to see if quirks surface. Older versions can be installed, and the license will likely be intact; no need to restore an Acronis image. Your file exports correctly to 1080 when re-encoded using 10.96, 11.08 and the beta release here.
  2. Would certainly think so - you're paid up. If there's a problem, the company would certainly rectify it. But you need not uninstall prior to deleting the files, if necessary. Just close the program, then reinstall. Should you have time on your hands, here's a beta build, which may have undiscovered quirks + several maintenance fixes.
  3. Launch the program without loading a project or any files. Under OPTIONS | DISC Menu, Clear Unused Cache Files. Do this before beginning a new project. Open the Menu (top-left), click HELP | ABOUT VIDEOPAD. What version # does it list? Does it say "64-bit?" If not, install and test this release. If still no joy, please take a few minutes to share your project. That's the best way that someone here can help solve the issue. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  4. You tacked onto an old thread where the issue, though similar in description, may be unrelated to the one you describe. Install this version. What format and resolution are those clips? Please upload the project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 5. Your long file was duplicated to 27 minutes in length, then exported losslessly. That took :44. The result was a 1920x1080 video. Likely about the best one might expect. Glad it worked out for you.
  6. If you make the effort to upload the entire project, someone here will export it losslessly for comparison. There appears to be nothing amiss with the lossless function in version 10.96 (64-bit). But that mode is picky on what it will accept.^_^ Sharing of the project (not the export or the VPJ file alone) isn't difficult. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 7. Yes. the tests were made with your original, not the VP or HB exports. Things to try... Install version 10.96. Verify that the video driver and Direct-X are up to date... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html If still bad, close the program and use Windows Explorer (file manager) to delete all files in these folders... "C:\Users\<PC Name\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components" "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components" Reinstall Videopad 10.96.
  8. Clean here at 1080, using version 10.96 or 11.08 (both 64-bit). Also solid with the H265 encoder.
  9. What version of Videopad is being used? Let's take a look at that file. Someone here will be glad to help. Upload the file to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, get a shared (public) link, copy the link and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view."
  10. No definitive answers for you. Allegedly the difference between the LOSSLESS button and Auto Detect (or lossless via the export window) is the percentage of the duration that lossless is performed. It's unclear why that is or how it's judged, but testing both methods should yield results similar to those seen here. Lossless will not be implemented on clips that the program detects do not meet the criteria.
  11. With a 64-bit version and the long file first on the timeline, export progressed at a uniform rate and completed in 12 seconds when LOSSLESS was chosen from the toolbar button. When instead Auto Detect was specified in the export drop-down menu, it took 32 seconds and was slower for the short clip. Variable outcome in both instances. As mentioned earlier, clicking the LOSSLESS button vs. using Auto Detect (or Lossless) from the export window are handled someone differently.
  12. To include a screenshot, upload to a server, get a link and post it. To see what you see please upload the small test mp4 project, as instructed above. Recall that there may be a difference in how the program handles lossless when applying it from the toolbar or specifying it from the export box. Often, export will vary in speed as the program decides what it can and cannot render losslessly. Can't say how that or the framerate mode is determined. But if the export goes very swiftly as contrasted to re-encoding, it was mostly lossless. Testing an mp4, when lossless was chosen from the toolbar, it was greyed out in export. If Video File export, all options were active in the drop-down box..
  13. The version to use now for lossless video is here. Don't use an 11.0x release at this time. Lossless requirements are listed here. Resolution and framerate, mode, and file type are normally specified by the program, based on content. To see the dropdown box click the blue Default Quality / Filesize link... In tests here, an AVI 30.00fps file exported losslessly as an AVI at that fixed rate. An mp4 variable exported as variable. Let's take a look at your project. Upload it and someone will check it out. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. 14. Open OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files prior to first loading or editing. 8G might be considered minimum for hi-res or complex projects. 16K won't hurt and 32K is even better. But that's no guarantee that Videopad can handle 5.3K. Run the 32-bit version to see how that works for you. Do you truly need ultra hi-def for the final screening? Efficiency and speed will improve with files converted to HD or 2K. See the 'sticky' post above for tips on Proxy editing. Share your project and others will see how it runs for them. The process isn't difficult and can be private. Just follow these steps closely... 16. The VPJ project control file in itself is of no use. Please follow the above procedure to create, upload and link the PROJECT file, which will contain all source files + the VPJ. Alternatively, if this is but a single file that's okay in a media player and when loaded into Videopad, but has no audio when exported, then upload just that file... We'll check it out.
  17. Good to hear. If after selecting an audio clip it refuses to track, click the VIDEO track of that clip first, then the audio track.
  18. Under OPTIONS | DISPLAY tic the "Show Dual Previews" box. Click the audio track of the clip. The waveform is displayed in the Clip window. Drag the Clip window cursor. The Sequence cursor will track it. PLAY does the same. Adjust the fade points. Record_2022_01_09_14_09_38_929.mp4
  19. With VIEW mode displaying both the clip and sequence windows, the audio track of a clip can be clicked to display the waveform. Drag the clip preview cursor and the sequence cursor will track. Add a text clip and it will be automatically overlaid at the cursor position. Subtitle generation isn't useful, for a number of reasons. This site (among others) does it well, and can generate subtitle file formats for import to VP or a player. No need to access the Image bin, make a new text image and type... 1. Position the timeline cursor where you want the new title 2. Click ADD TEXT/SIMPLE TEXT and the default length text is automatically overlaid at the cursor position with the last used text parameters 3. Swipe the text and press <ctrl-V> to paste what you have copied to the clipboard (or type new text) 4. Open effects and click on the template containing the effect parameters that you saved Or, if there's only a single saved effect and it was the last to be used, right-click the timeline text clip and APPLY LAST USED VIDEO EFFECT.
  20. Subtitles can be stacked. Type a line or select a previously typed line (bottom-left), press <enter> type another.
  21. What version of Videopad is being used? Share the project here or in private and someone will check it out. It's easy to do and the fix usually comes quickly. Just follow these steps... 22. Yes, it's a confirmed bug that should be fixed in the next release. In the interim either re-encode or use this version. There's never a mandate to update, and sometimes it's best to wait, should quirks arise. Newest releases can always be test driven - licensed or not - to check out the latest improvements and features.
  23. If your licensed version was purchased within the past six-months, registration should still be good. If not... https://www.nch.com.au/upgrade/ Or take a look here. Download/install a release that is later than the one you have, but is still within the six-month window. Chances are that the issue you experienced will have been fixed. There's no mandate to install the very latest version - especially if the one you own is doing the job. Unlicensed free and trial releases can always be test driven, to see what's new or improved. If unlicensed, features may be limited.
  24. Install this version and report back if the problem persists. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  25. Shouldn't happen, and hasn't been reported. What version of Videopad is being used? Try this one. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
