Hi jaynuh, vapors is 100% correct. mpdp files are just project files. You need to export first using the steps that vapors has outlined. You can also export directly to mp3 if you would like. Regards, Ben

Hi anotherbreed, Snap to zero crossing is always enabled when you are zoomed out. If you click anywhere on the waveform and then zoom in, you will see that the cursor will always be placed at the zero crossing (this includes the start and end point of any selections you make). If you zoom in closer to the point where you can see the individual samples then the snap behaviour is disabled so as to allow the user more precision in their selection points. Regards, Ben

Hi jokersphere83, The current version of WavePad supports m4a files. However I would warn about converting your mp3 files to m4a. In this case you would be taking an already compressed file and then compressing it further using a different encoder. The result will be a decrease in quality. You would need to get a copy of the original source material in a lossless format (like from a CD or wav or FLAC) and then encode to m4a from that. Regards, Ben

Hi vapors, I suspect the issue you are experiencing is due to the high resolution nature of your laptop's screen - I believe your model comes with a 4K screen. I think what is happening is that WavePad is not scaling its control buttons appropriately with your DPI settings and is therefore appearing very small. I have logged this as a bug in our system and we should hopefully have a fix out soon. Regards, Ben

Hi pooksahib, For some reason (a bug!) that function is missing from the menu, but you can access it via the Edit "tab". I do mean Direct Current, but reviewing my post in the context of your question I think my description was a bit misleading - I could have been clearer. If you think of a typical audio signal as an alternating electrical current then above the centre line represents a positive voltage and below represents a negative voltage. I was using DC to refer to the centre line of 0 volts, which is not always the case. Regards, Ben

Hi pooksahib, WavePad has 3 main ways you can display the waveform. The default way (and the way you currently have selected) is a composite signal of all channels. In this case the waveform represents the fluctuations of an audio signal as it goes above and below DC. WavePad can also represent a signal in the way you were expecting by using the wave display option buttons in the bottom left hand corner of the wave window. Hover your mouse over each of these buttons and you will see a tooltip explaining what each one is for. In order to edit an individual channel, you first need to split the original signal into its component channels using "Edit --> Split --> Split into Component Channels". You can then edit each channel separately. If you wish to rejoin them afterwards, then you can use "Edit --> Join --> Join mono files to make stereo" Regards, Ben

Hi all, An update to this. MixPad now supports live monitoring of MIDI recordings via virtual instruments if you are using an ASIO capable sound device. To enable this, click on the "Spanner" icon of the track you are recording to and check the box "Enable MIDI monitoring via VST instrument for ASIO devices". Then in the MIDI playback options field, check the "Play MIDI using VST instrument" option and select your preferred VST instrument from the dropdown list. Regards, Ben

Hi RenniePet, There are 3 broad strategies people use when recording MIDI to hear what they are playing. How well these work can depend a little on what kind of equipment you have at your disposal. eg. mixers, sound interfaces etc. 1. Use a MIDI instrument with a built in synthesiser and listen to it via headphones 2. Re-route the MIDI signals being recorded to a separate synthesiser unit and listen to that 3. Use a VSTi (virtual instrument) built-in to the software. MixPad does not yet support rendering MIDI signals while recording although it will do so with playback. It is a feature which is on our todo list and is being worked on right now, so hopefully it will be available shortly The Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth option you have selected is only for playback and will not render the MIDI while recording. Hi Yaya7xs, Welcome to the forums and there is absolutely no need to apologise - we have all been beginners at some point. There is currently no feature which will add bar lines automatically based on note duration - although it is something that is being considered. However, you can delete a bar line by simply hovering the mouse over the line, right clicking it and pressing delete in the context menu. Hope this helps, Regards, Ben

Hi Corey977, When Voxal is running it will intercept all microphone input and modify it. To use the mic without any effects applied to it you can either: 1. Close Voxal while you are using programs you want to use your normal voice for 2. Click the "Bypass" button on the main toolbar of the Voxal window. This will stop Voxal from applying any effects.
