  1. Hey there, I've replied to your PM with more details Regards, Ben
  2. @DennisW, Thanks for the offer - I'll keep it in mind for the next SoundTap development cycle @johnnyjjsantiago, Do you get the clicks and pops while recording from any source? Or do they occur only when recording from a particular source? If you are able to send me a link to a short sample recording which demonstrates the issue I may be able to identify the cause of the clicks. Additionally: What operating system are you using? What is the make and model of your soundcard? Regards, Ben
  3. Hi, Can you please look in the ProjectData folder for your MixPad project? It should be named using this scheme: [yourprojectname].mpdp.ProjectData It should contain a list of .aud files. Can you see these? Regards, Ben
  4. Hi walterw, At this stage, Tone Generator has a resolution of 100ths of a Hz so it will not be suitable for your needs. Regards, Ben
  5. Thanks for the feedback, Plaidie and DennisW. I'll have a look into the issue you describe, Dennis in regard to the dB meter not showing red. I will also look at introducing a warning notification to users if the volume level is set too high to try and help people avoid this problem in the future. Regards, Ben
  6. Hi MakGonz, If you are using an iPhone then you will have to download the mp3 file to your iTunes library first so it can be made available to all your apps. Unfortunately, there is no other way to share a file created in one app with other apps on the iPhone. Regards, Ben
  7. Hi Andres, I've raised this as an issue in our system. Thanks for your report. Regards, Ben
  8. Hi Ron B, and DennisW, In both of your cases, the issues you describe are consistent with SoundTap receiving a signal which is too loud. The volume at which SoundTap records is determined by a combination of the volume of the application you are recording (eg. YouTube via your browser) and your system volume. Try reducing one or both of these volume levels and use the dB meter level on the main SoundTap window as a guide to check that your recording levels are not entering the red zone. Regards, Ben
  9. Hi jdjbtom, How big is the file you are trying to email? Is it possible that your email provider has a file size limit that was exceeded? WAV files are uncompressed audio and the file sizes can grow very quickly. I would suggest transferring the file directly through iTunes if you want to keep it in wav format, or emailing it in a compressed format like mp3. Regards, Ben
  10. Hi supraestereo, Your current bottleneck will be your upload speed since you are uploading a complete copy of your transmission to each of your 20 listeners. It is hard to give you an exact number in regard to what bandwidth you will need to support a specific number of listeners, but I would suggest using your current setup as a guide. If you are starting to have issues at 20 listeners with a 1.1MB/s connection then you are likely to need at least a 6MB/s connection to support 100 simultaneous users. Another option you have is to reduce the quality of your audio stream. I'm not sure what kind of content you are streaming, but reducing the bitrate of the transmission will allow you to reach more users. The actual drop in audible quality will depend a bit on the content, but it may be an acceptable compromise for you. Regards, Ben
  11. Hi squintie, I'm really sorry to hear that you're having problems. MixPad uses an internal file format ".aud" to store all your project audio, and attempting to convert them to other file formats is not likely to work correctly. To get a file format that is playable in most players (eg. mp3) then you need to export/save your project as an audio file. It is hard to be sure, but it is possible that the project audio still exists in your dropbox account. I would suggest attempting to download the project from dropbox to a completely clean folder. If that doesn't work then look in your dropbox account for files of type ".aud" and manually download these and place them in the .mpdp.ProjectData folder. Regards, Ben
  12. Hi montaignece, I've got someone looking into this issue now. I'll get back to you shortly. Regards, Ben
  13. Hi Ron, I can assure you we take all of these reports seriously and do our best to track down the issues. For the vast majority of our users SoundTap works with no problems, but for some people a combination of hardware/software configurations sometimes present issues. If you can give me a description of what you are trying to record and what kind of audio problems you are experiencing then I may be able to help you solve the issue. Regards, Ben
  14. Hi Guyser, Sorry you're having troubles - hopefully we can get to the bottom of this and get your data back. In the data folder of the damaged project what kind of files does it contain and what size are they? If the project contained actual audio data (ie. not MIDI) then you should have .aud files. These .aud files contain the audio that you would have recorded or imported into your project. Regards, Ben
  15. Hi there, A few quick questions: 1. What version of MixPad are you using? 2. When you say 20 songs, are each of these songs their own separate MixPad project? 3. Have you recently moved the project files to a new directory? 4. If you look for the files in Windows explorer, each project file (.mpdp) should be paired with a folder which should contain all your audio data. So, for example, if you have a project called MySong, then there will be a project file called MySong.mpdp and there will be a folder called MySong.mpdp.ProjectData. Can you check to see if these folders exist? If you can answer these questions as best you can then I can hopefully help you further. Regards, Ben
  16. Hi Alpdf, I'm afraid we don't have someone here who can speak French well enough, but I will see if I can help you anyway. When you open your project, can you see the audio waveforms in your clips? What happens when you click on play? Do you get an error message? Does the cursor move? Have you checked your audio output settings and made sure that your sound card is connected and switched on (if it's external)? Regards, Ben
  17. Hi mcmanus, Ok, could you have a look in the data folder and let me know what files you have in there? There should be a .aud file for each recording you made. Also, how much disk space does the folder take? It's a bit hard to tell what has gone wrong without seeing the files myself. If you would like me to take a closer look then you can upload your project and project data folder to DropBox (or some similar cloud storage) and send me a PM with a link, and I will download the project and see if I can find out what has gone wrong. Hopefully I can restore it for you. Regards, Ben
  18. Switch has been updated and should now work with no issues on El Capitan. Thankyou everyone for your patience Regards, Ben
  19. Hi all, We have found the bug causing the issue in El Capitan. New versions of all affected products are now currently being tested and will be released soon. Regards, Ben

    Muffled voice

Hi elbon, Have you tried previewing the voice to see what it sounds like through your own speakers/headphones? If not, can you give that a go and let me know if it still sounds muffled? Another thing you might try is to record your preview using an audio recording program like RecordPad or WavePad. To do this, first run Voxal and then run your chosen audio recorder. Make sure the voice you want to preview is selected in Voxal and then start a recording in your audio recorder. Voxal should modify the recording as it is made. Once you are finished you can listen back to the recording to see what it sounds like. Regards, Ben

  22. Hi mcmanusj67, When you save a MixPad project you will get two important things: 1. A project file called mysong.mpdp 2. A project data folder called mysong.mpdp.ProjectData These two items must reside in the same directory. If you move the project file then you must also move the project data folder. Can you have a look and see if that folder exists on your desktop? If not, check your Recycle Bin to see if it has been accidentally deleted. In general, I would caution against using your desktop to store your MixPad projects. It is too easy for desktop items to be accidentally cleared away or moved. Let me know if you still can't find it and I'll see if I can help you further. Regards, Ben
  23. Hi Peter, Can you please let me know which platform you are using WavePad on? Android/iOS/WIndows/Mac? Regards Ben
  24. Hi David, The level at which SoundTap records is dependent on both system volume and the volume of the application playing the audio (in this case YouTube via your browser). I notice in the video you linked, the recording level is quite high which means that perhaps with your normal volume settings it is playing too loud and distorting. To get a better recording you will need to reduce the volume of the track by either turning down the YouTube volume or your system volume. Take note of the dB level meter in the main SoundTap window and aim to have your recording only peaking into the red section occasionally. Regards, Ben

    Muffled voice

Hi elbon, What voice effect are you using when people say you sound muffled? Have you tried different voices? Regards, Ben
