  1. Hi John, Based on the information in your post, I don't think you are using the ASIO driver of your device. [Default Sound In] instructs MixPad to use the device that Windows has set as your default device on your system, and it will use the built in DirectSound drivers. If you open this pull down list, you should see a list of all the devices available to you for recording. If your ASIO drivers are correctly installed then you should see an entry starting with the text "[ASIO]". You need to select this option. Then you need to open the main audio options dialog from the toolbar and set your playback device is also set to use the same ASIO device as you are recording from. Let me know how this goes. Regards, Ben

Hi laydon, I'm not 100% sure I understand what you are trying to achieve. Would it be possible for you to explain a bit more about what you are doing? Certainly in MixPad you can create multiple copies of the same audio, edit them in different ways and then recombine them. Regards, Ben
  3. Hi Cludgie, I'm sorry to say that at the moment there is no option to add zoom buttons to the customised tool tab. However, I'm happy to raise this as a suggestion for a future release Regards, Ben
  4. Hi John, A few more follow up questions if you don't mind: 1. Do you get the same problem if you are just recording on a single track with no clips on any other tracks? 2. Since you are using ASIO, then all playback should also be set to use the ASIO device as well. Is this how you have it set up? 3. What kind of computer are you using? Regards, Ben
  5. Hi jeffgoobs, I'm sorry that you've run into this problem. I can say however that we are definitely in the process of adding VST support for Mac users. Regards, Ben
  6. Hi keystone, There are a few things you can try. 1. If there is a very clear point at which the audio becomes too loud then I would try selecting only the quiet audio and amplifying it using "Effects -> Amplify" 2. Try looking at "Effects -> Dynamic Range Compressor". This tool allows you to control how much attenuation or boost is applied to a section of audio based on how loud it is. So, in your example, you could boost are boosted and how much loud sections are reduced in volume. This can take a bit of playing around to get it right, but it can also do a very good job. 3. There is also "Effects->Normalize" which you may want to try applying to only the quiet section. If you need additional help understanding the parameters for these tools, then let us know. Regards, Ben
  7. Hi Morten, The .wbm files are how WavePad saves the bookmark information. In order to avoid this, you can simply delete all the bookmarks by clicking "Bookmark -> Delete All Bookmarks" from the menu. Regards, Ben

Hi laydon, The type of program you are looking for is a bit different to WavePad which is mostly setup to work with one file at a time. It is technically possible to do this in WavePad, but quite fiddly. I would suggest trying MixPad which is designed for exactly what you are trying to do - http://www.nch.com.au/mixpad/index.html Regards, Ben
  9. Hi Vellora, I'm sorry to say that there was a short window with WavePad where in some rare circumstances this could happen. The issue has now been fixed. I have sent you a PM with some additional details. Regards, Ben
  10. Hi davernoise, When you convert a file to wma using Switch, there are several encoder options which can affect playback on some systems. You can access these options by clicking the "Encoder Options..." button next to the output format field on the Switch interface. Have you tried different options? Cheers, Ben
  11. Hi jd1, This is not a restriction of the free version - it is a different issue. I haven't seen this problem before. To troubleshoot let me ask a few questions 1. Does it always stop recording after exactly the same duration or does the time vary? 2. What recording options have you selected for track 2 of your project? (eg. Are you using the ASIO drivers for your device) 3. Do you have a work region selected in the timeline? 4. When MixPad stops recording can you see if the Behringer is still receiving a signal from your microphone? Regards, Ben
  12. Hi robv, To export only a selected portion of your project, you must create a selection in the timeline (not in the main project area). Drag your mouse in the timeline area. Then when you export, there will be a dialog which contains an option to "Export selected work region only". Regards, Ben
  13. Hi Tassyr, Can I just check that you downloaded Voxal from the official NCH website? All our drivers are signed correctly and should not cause Windows to generate this error. Regards, Ben
  14. Hi Steve, Yes, the latest version of Crescendo supports this ability. Regards, Ben

    Slow playback?

Hi Garry, Is it possible that you have changed the playback speed of MixPad? Click on Playback -> Change Playback Speed. Is the project entirely comprised of MIDI? If so, have you got the project tempo set correctly? Regards, Ben
  16. Hi Jeffige, The only way to do this is by inserting silence into the synthesized clip. You can do this from the menu by clicking Edit -> Insert Silence Regards, Ben
  17. Hi pchris, Ok, that sounds like a strange issue. WavePad does not really control the quality of your audio recording - that is the domain of the hardware you are using. Is it possibly something to do with playback? If you take a file you know sounds good in a different DAW and play it in WavePad does it sound the same/worse? Regards, Ben
  18. Hi Mark03, Are you recording in MIDI? If so, MixPad does not know what instrument you have currently set on your keyboard. You need to select the clip you have recorded in the MixPad main project window and then select the "Edit Clip" button from the "Editing" tab in the main toolbar. This should open a MIDI editing window. On the far right of this window you should see options for setting which instrument is assigned to which channel. Hope this helps. Regards, Ben
  19. Hi ego1jr, I need to get a copy of one of the files to see what is happening. I have sent you a PM in regard to this. Regards, Ben
  20. Hi MuleGuy, Sorry to hear that you're having problems. Are you able to identify any specific changes you made to your system when you noticed that SoundTap was not working properly? Eg. Did it happen when you upgraded to Win10? Have you recently changed any hardware? Have you recently installed any software? Is your computer having difficulties in other programs? Regards, Ben
  21. Hi fazer1k, No time wasted! In fact it's great that you posted back the fix Hopefully anyone else who has the same problem will be able to use this as a reference. Regards, Ben
  22. Hi ego1jr, How are you creating the FLAC files and what settings are you using (eg. bit depth, compression level etc) ? Regards, Ben

    Amplify

Hi mikelchap, I'm unable to think of any reason why the Amplify process would not work. Is the recording especially quiet? If so, 150% might not make much visual or audible difference and you may need to boost it by a larger amount. What kind of decibel level is the recording reaching when you play it (see the decibel meter in the bottom right hand corner of the main window). Regards, Ben
  24. Hi Garry, Maybe the magical silicon fairies were on holiday? Glad it's working now Regards, Ben
  25. Hi Neil50, It sounds like you have accidentally activated a "tie" on the previous note. Since you can't "tie" notes of different value, that is why it disappears when you change the note's pitch. To fix this you need to right click on the previous note and deselect the "Tied" option from the pop up menu. Regards, Ben
