  1. Hi TomH, I will chat with our iOS developer for MixPad - it definitely shouldn't be a free/paid feature issue. Regards, Ben
  2. Hi S DS, The advice vapors gave you is correct. The first time a file is saved in WavePad it will require user input. All subsequent uses of "Save All Files" will not display any dialogs. I like the idea of better options when saving multiple documents, especially after an operation like a split, so I am going to raise this as a possible future feature for WavePad. Do you have any opinions on how you would like to see it implemented exactly? Regards, Ben
  3. Hi Garry, Ok, thanks for posting back to let us know Regards, Ben
  4. Hi 4053bigal, Could you please describe your hardware setup in a bit more detail? How is your laptop connected to your mixer? If you could let me know the brand and model of the mixer too that would be helpful in troubleshooting. Regards, Ben
  5. Hi p3fe, Are you saying that the playback speed changes during the song, or is the whole song the wrong speed? Regards, Ben
  6. Hi Garry, Just a thought, but USB interfaces (like the Focusrite) can be very susceptible to line noise. This can be especially noticeable if you have microphones without well shielded cables plugged in to the interface. To eliminate this possibility I would suggest unplugging any cables not necessary for playback from the Focusrite and then make sure all the volume pots for the inputs are turned to 0. If this results in improved sound quality then your problem is likely to be interference from the cables. Regards, Ben

    FADE IN Issue

Hi beatmen, I have sent you a PM with my contact details. You can send me the image directly. Regards, Ben
  8. Hi Saguaro, For .wv files you need to manually choose your output bit depth by clicking the "Encoder Options" button next to the "Output Format" field. Choose the following options (or similar to) in the image below Regards, Ben

    FADE IN Issue

Hi beatmen, When you use the fade in command in WavePad, you should get a nice smooth gradient starting from zero with no noise added. I just tested this on a sine wave to verify. You can see a zoomed in image below. Could you give me a bit more info on your workflow and what file formats you are working in? Also, can you *see* a noise in the waveform or can you just hear it when you playback? Regards, Ben
  10. Hi Garry, Do you get distortion playing other formats of media via other media players (eg. playing an mp3 files through Windows Media Player, itunes etc)? If you have a built in sound card on your computer, have you tried using that? If so, do you still get distortion? Regards, Ben
  11. Hi Kundy13, Off the top of my head I am not sure what could cause this problem. Would it be possible to send me one of the mp3 files you are having trouble with? I will send you a PM with my contact details. Also, if you could tell me what format the video was recorded in and what type of video camera you used that would be helpful too. Regards, Ben
  12. Hi garryb, A couple of quick questions: 1. Does the distortion occur only on the louder parts of your recording or is it at a constant level throughout? 2. Is the main project dB meter (bottom right hand corner of the main window) staying below 0dB when you are playing back? 3. If you play old projects (which you know used to playback fine) through the Focusrite, do you get the same distortion? Regards, Ben
  13. Hi lexdegroot, Switch is able to *open* G.729 encoded files, but as yet it is unable to save in this format. Regards, Ben

    Slow playback?

Hi yaykenny, What kind of sound card do you have? There may be something wrong with your settings. If you can give me the model details I can have a look for you. Regards, Ben
  15. Hi jdanicolaisen, It sounds like the SoundTap installation did not survive the update to windows 10. The first step would be to uninstall and reinstall SoundTap. If that doesn't work then you need to make sure that all of your sound drivers have been correctly updated - it could be that one of those is no longer playing happily with the new operating system. Regards, Ben
  16. Hi Xoron, Choose the shortest segment you can which is characteristic of the noise you are trying to remove. Try to pick a segment which is as close to just pure noise as possible. Regards, Ben
  17. Hi Xoron, By the sound of it, the problem with the recording is that the sound was too loud for the microphone and it has clipped the signal. Once this happens there is not much you can do to repair the signal - it simply doesn't contain the information contained in the original signal from the subject's voice. If the clipping is subtle then you can run the audio through a declipper filter which might help, but in this case it sounds as though the distortion is too severe and I doubt that will work. Regards, Ben
  18. Hi RacerX, "AppData" is a hidden folder - you need to tell windows to show hidden folders. On Windows 10 you can do this by opening Windows explorer and then clicking View->Options, click the "View" tab, select the option which says "Show hidden files, folders and drives" Alternatively, you can access the AppData folder by typing the following directly into the URI bar at the top of windows explorer: %AppData% - this is a shortcut link to the AppData folder Regards, Ben
  19. Hi livelonger, Unfortunately, VST plugins are only supported in the Windows version of WavePad. Sorry for the confusion. Regards, Ben
  20. Hi greenblue03, Experimenting with WavePad's equalizer is probably the best way to go. There is no guaranteed method to raise the sound of vocals over something like a piano. Regards, Ben
  21. Hi laydon, What you are trying to do is very difficult to accomplish. I would suggest experimenting with one of WavePad's equalizers. Regards, Ben
  22. Hi Otrrob50, First of all have a look at our high pass filter. This would be the simplest method. You can access it via Effects -> Cleanup -> High-pass Filter. In the dialog box which appears you select the frequency below which you would like to attenuate. If you need more advanced options then take a look at our equalizer via Levels -> Equalize. Here you can select between Visual/Graphic/Parametric equalizers which should give you very precise control over how the frequencies are attenuated. Regards, Ben
  23. Hi Sheila F, Once you have purchased there should be no need to purchase again. Can you please contact our support staff via email at supportnch@nchsoftware.com - they will be able to help you with restoring your licence. Regards, Ben
