  1. Hi inormous, Due to technical limitations, MixPad is able to handle files of 6 hours 35 minutes or less. Regards, Ben
  2. Hi Kramer88, Sorry that you are having trouble getting Voxal to work. Firstly, please note that this is a forum for community members to help each other out. It is not an official support channel although developers do look at it. If you require support you can easily access several options from the Help menu in any of our programs. If you can answer a few questions I might be able to help you troubleshoot and fix the problem. 1. In the log window are you receiving the messages: 'Welcome to Voxal' and 'Voxal and started correctly' ? 2. What voice have you selected in the left hand panel? 3. When you get the distorted noise, are you using the 'Preview' function of Voxal? 4. Could you please describe step by step how you are trying to use Voxal? 5. Do you have other software running (maybe in the background) which could be using the microphone? eg. Skype? If so, try shutting this down and see if Voxal works for you using the Preview function. Regards, Ben
  3. Hi Martin, There is nothing special in the way that Switch is run. It is a basic command line entry with a handful of parameters. As I said, I'm not very familiar with the JVM, so I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to be much help for you. However, I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about Switch while you are troubleshooting your code. Regards, Ben
  4. Hi MartinJ, A few thoughts: 1. It does seem likely to be something to do with being the 11th file, but could it also be a certain time duration? ie. Are all your files about the same length? If so, could it be that the problem is actually a time based issue rather than an item count? 2. What is your Java program doing while Switch is operating? 3. I don't know much about the inner workings of the JVM, but when you execute a command line from within a Java program does it run within the context of the Java program? Regards, Ben
  5. Hi MartinJ, When you run Switch from your Java program, are you running other threads which could be manipulating the target files? My first thought is that something is going wrong with Switch's access to the files. Regards Ben
  6. Hi steveclass55, Have you read my post from one above yours? If you are able to provide me with that information I might be able to help you further. Regards, Ben
  7. Hi Fargol, When you are recording from MIDI devices, the MixPad interface will only update when it receives MIDI messages. This means that you will only see the audio clip start to record once you start pressing keys on your Korg. Also, when you set the track to record MIDI input, there should be two small boxes which appear in the track control area to the left of the track. These are indicator lights which show whether or not MixPad is receiving/sending MIDI events. Let me know how this goes. Regards, Ben
  8. Hi gigs, During the process of mixing, no re-compression will occur. You can edit and apply effects and whatever you like and there will be no further quality loss. However once you have completed your final mix and export your recording, the mix will be recompressed to mp3 at this stage. Unfortunately there is no way around this. Regards, Ben

    metronome

Hi Botar, Thanks for your feedback. We are adding the option to have the metronome sound during the pre-roll only for this next release. However, your metronome should not be getting recorded unless you are recording via microphone and not using headphones to listen to the metronome. In this case obviously the microphone will pick up the metronome. Could you explain how you have your recording setup and I may be able to help?
  10. Hi Everyone. If you are having troubles with SoundTap introducing clicks and pops into your recordings then can you please take note of the following things: 1. What were you recording at the time? 2. If you know the technical details that would be great. ie. bitrate, mp3/aac 3. Were you doing other work on your computer at the same time? It should be fine to do so, but it could help me track down the problem. 4. What kind of soundcard are you using? 5. Have you changed any settings on your soundcard. eg. Have you changed the default playback format in the Speakers/Headphones Properties dialog? If so, what are the settings? 6. Does this problem occur every time you record? 7. Does the problem exist after a reboot? 8. Can you save a small snippet of the recording you made so that I can analyze it and track down the issue? If so, I'll contact you via email. Regards, Ben
  11. Hi HairyPotter, First of all, great name Secondly, I can confirm that this is a bug. I have logged it as an issue and it will be fixed in the next release. Regards, Ben
  12. Hi BigFred, Have you recently made any hardware changes? Or installed any new driver software? If I understand your bug report correctly then what you are experiencing is a "Windows Bug Check". This occurs when windows detects a system level problem with hardware or drivers. For example, sometimes people get this problem when they install ASIO4All. In your report you mention that an error message pops up. What is the error message? Cheers, nchBen
  13. Hi, there is not currently a 64bit driver for SoundTap. There is one being released in the not too distant future. Cheers, BJW
  14. I have just released version 1.40 of soundtap. It includes a much more stable driver which is built to run on Vista and should eliminate blue screen issues for Vista users. If anyone experiences blue screens then please contact NCH through the standard support channels.
  15. Download the latest version of switch. this bug has been fixed.
  16. SoundTap records a perfect digital reproduction of the streaming source - byte for byte. If the sound quality of the recording was poor then the sound quality of the original may have been too or something else has gone wrong. Needless to say the paid version doesn't overdub the message you are hearing. BJW
  17. Glad to hear it is working. There are plans to support multiple calls but several technical hurdles to overcome first to do with running multiple Skype instances. Cheers, Ben
  18. Aha! Yes. that is almost certainly the issue. You need to make sure that on the Local Resources tab of your Remote Desktop connection options you specify *Leave at Remote Computer* for the remote desktop sound options - that should ensure that the Uplink device will be visible to the remote computer. Unfortunately this will mean you will not be able to use the sound devices on your local machine to use Uplink on a remote computer (I assume this is what you are trying to do?). It is an interesting situation and I think it would be worth looking at a little further to see if there may be a solution or workaround. Ben
  19. Hmmm. This is an odd one. Does the Uplink device show up as an option in the Sounds and Audio devices section of the Control Panel? Have you tried completely uninstalling Uplink and not just reinstalling over the top of the existing installation? If this doesn't work I will send you a diagnostic build of Uplink which may shed some light on the problem. BJW
  20. Hi Limited Goods, It sounds as though there is something wrong with the uplink driver installation. The fact that there is no option to select it may indicate that it is disabled. Check out the Sound, Video and Game Controllers section of your device manager and check that the Uplink driver is not disabled. To do this: - Right click 'My Computer' - select properties - select the hardware tab - click device manager - open the Sounds, video and Game controllers branch of the tree - if the uplink driver is not listed or has a cross on it, then there is a problem Let me know what you find. Cheers, Ben
  21. Antti, In the Sound Devices section of Skype do you have Uplink as an option? The Uplink program should automatically set this when starting but perhaps it is failing for some reason or the driver may not have been installed properly. Cheers, Ben
  22. Am I correct in understanding that you have it working now? It's a bit hard preconfiguring Uplink because people are using it for different reasons. I think I may look at putting in a few wizard based configurations to help people get started - especially for the more common usages. Cheers, Ben
  23. Hi, I'm not familiar with the particular PBX you are using but it sounds as though it may be sending the wrong number to Skype. You can have a look at your SIP logs and see if the correct number is being sent to Skype. You can access the logs at [Drive]:\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\NCH Swift Sound\uplink\Logs See if you can get any extra information from that log.
  24. Hi, Try shutting down both skype and uplink. Then start Skype followed by Uplink. See if that works. Cheers, Ben
  25. When you lose your sound, go to the Sounds and Audio Devices of your control panel and make sure that the default devices for playback and recording are NOT set to soundtap. They should be set to your preferred audio device. Cheers, BJW
