    Can anyone help me?

    Hi!

If you mean changing the entire project tempo, you may change the project tempo by navigating to the Tempo field (please refer to the attached screenshot).

    Screen Shot 2021-06-10 at 10.38.56 AM.png

If you want MixPad to analyze the tempo of your song, kindly select the audio by clicking the clip, then navigate to Clip > AutoBeat detection/beat match ... etc depending on what you need.

    Hi!

Could you confirm the Zoom R16/24 device appears under Audio MIDI Setup?

You may access this under Launchpad > Other > Audio MIDI Setup

If it is recognized, kindly send us a screenshot so we can try to troubleshoot further.

For some reason, Wavepad keeps switching the output between my laptop speakers and my headphones.  When I go to Preferences => Audio -> Sound Play Device, I can toggle between Headphones, Default Playback Device, or MacBook Pro Speakers (I'm running IOS 11.1/Big Sur).  Whenever the computer goes to sleep  or I close it, Wavepad defaults to the Macbook Pro speakers, on high volume.  I've seen reference to an Options menu unter Tools, but it doesn't appear in any of the dropdowns.  Any idea how to change the default playback device to Headphones in Wavepad version 12.47?

    Thanks!

    Hi!

It would be best to make sure that the selected device under WavePad  > Preferences > Audio > Sound Play Device is the same device as the one chosen under MacOS > System Preferences > Output

If the issue still occurs even after you've set these, you may open a support ticket through this link https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html if you need immediate and direct assistance.

First, I have virtually no experience with audio file editing...which I'm sure is obvious!

I have a number of full length books in MP3 format that I want to listen to using iBooks on my iPhone.  Most of these are very large (up to 12 - 15 hours).  Loading them full length as an audiobook doesn't work.  They're too big.

I downloaded WavePad and split a 12 hour MP3 file into 10 separate files.  This works but each file appears as a separate book in iBooks.  I have other large MP3 audiobooks that appear in iBooks as one book but they're displayed as individual small chapters.

Is there a way to do this using WavePad?

Hi @Minato009, in this case, it would be best if you could reach out to Apple support and ask for tech specs on how you can display audio files as part of one continuous book for the version of iBook you are using.

Since iBook is a proprietary software by Apple, they are the ones who know the specs on how this can be done. If they give specific instructions, you may open a support ticket at through this link https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html so that we can assess if it can be done natively with WavePad.

What file types are supposed to work and where must they be installed in order to  be seen

It would depend on what plugin you installed, but generally they should be located on a similar directory such as "D: > Program Files > Steinberg > VstPlugins "

If your plugins were placed on a different folder, you may also manually add those directories as by navigating to

"WavePad > Tools > Options > VST > Add Path... > Navigate to where you've placed the plugins

Once you've set the location, restart WavePad.

Upon opening WavePad again, load an audio clip.

Go to WavePad > Effects > Effects Chain >

You should see the plugin there (assuming it's in a compatible VST in .dll format, double click to activate it.

    Hi,

I have a 58 minute .mp4 video that, when played in Windows Media Player, has audio all the way to the end. When I import it into VideoPad or WavePad licensed versions, the audio track cuts off at 3 mins, 40 seconds. I do not have a separate audio file for the movie.  How can I get the whole audio track to come into the software with the video?

Hi! Could you send us a screenshot of your VideoPad/WavePad timeline when you import the 58 minute file? You may also upload a copy of the video file so that we can test this on our end.

    Hi @Orochimaru,

To create a custom ringtone using WavePad, kindly follow these steps:

    1. Load the audio file/song you wish to use as a ringtone. Refer to "WavePad Ringtone - 1.png"

    WavePad Ringtone - 1.png

    2. Once the audio file has been loaded in WavePad, choose the section which you want to use as a ringtone.

    3. In this example, let's assume that the section I want to use as a ringtone is the one inside the orange box. Refer to "WavePad Ringtone - 2.png"

    WavePad Ringtone - 2.png

    4. Grab/select all the other portions that is NOT meant to be included in the ringtone, delete those sections. (Refer to "WavePad Ringtone - 3.png"

    WavePad Ringtone - 3.png

    5. You will be left with the portion you want to use for the ringtone.

    6. Grab/select about 2 seconds from the start of the portion then navigate to WavePad > Effects > Fade In. (Refer to "WavePad Ringtone - 4.png)

    WavePad Ringtone - 4.png

    7. Grab/select the last 2 seconds of the clip then navigate to WavePad > Effects > Fade Out (Refer to "WavePad Ringtone - 5.png")

    WavePad Ringtone - 5.png

    8. Listen to your edited file. Once you are happy with the output, go to WavePad > File > Save File/Save File As > .MP3

    9. Transfer the output file onto your phone.

    10. Set the .mp3 file as your ringtone. Please note that the process may vary depending on the model of your phone.

Does anyone have any experience using any file converters? Do they do they job? Does the converter give you 320kbps mp3s https://19216801.onl/ https://routerlogin.uno/ ?

does wavepad have such a thing as autotune  to sort out a small part in my song which Ive sung very slightly flat

Hi! Currently there is no direct way to quantize the pitch on WavePad. However, if you are running the Master's Edition, you may use compatible third-party plugins which enable surgical pitch adjustment.

  11. Hi @Brewerpaul, based on what you've described, you can easily do this by first selecting your desired key and time signature from the right menu bar. Upon clicking, simply hover your mouse to the start of the project/piece.

Once you've set your desired time and key signature, you may choose from any of the note/rest values which can be found on the left tool bar, then place it on the staff, depending on the pitch you want.

If you want to do triplets, place first the three eighth notes you want to form into a triplet. Once the three notes are in place, select the triplet button (still on the left toolbar) then click on the note you want to set as the first note in your triplet.

You may refer to the attached screenshot.

    Screen Shot 2021-05-13 at 8.04.27 AM.png

  12. Hi @Tactics, there's a wide range of variables here. We'll do our best to help you specify and address your concerns.

    1. How many individual files are there? Are these the ones you're having trouble with?

    2. About those *.wpp files you mentioned which you will save as .wav files, are these files in any way connected to the formerly mentioned wav files which opens individually?

    3. You mentioned you deleted the files inside the working folder, and then you went on to search those previously deleted files. This would depend on your computer settings, like how much you allow the recycle bin to hold. If the files you previously deleted are bigger than your recycle bin's capacity, it's most likely the reason why you can't find those files anymore.

    4. If you are seeing a message when you open WavePad that promps to locate the old files you already deleted, it's most likely because WavePad is trying to automatically retrieve the associated files on your project. Simply create a new/blank project so that WavePad would quit looking for the recent project.

I hope this is the right forum for this question. I'm brand new to use of WavePad, may well have overlooked something obvious.

I have tried recently to import an MP3 file into WavePad, on two different PC computers, one running Win 7 and another running XP. It hangs every time, I end up having to kill the application. So I pulled the file back into Audacity (which was used to create it), and exported a new copy that utilised the older, more primitive, ID3V1 tags, rather than the newer, more flexible, ID3V2 tags I had been using. I was then able to import the ID3V1 version successfully into WavePad.

So my question is, when, if ever, will WavePad be capable of handling MP3 files with ID3V2 tag formats?

    Thanks in advance...

    Hi!

Could you send a cloud storage link to a sample MP3 file with ID3V1 tags? This is so we can test this on our end.

I am not an audiophile. I use the home version of Wave Pad for the rare times I need to edit some audio files. My current issue is that, as a hospice volunteer, I've recently recorded 85 hours of a patient's life story which he wishes to leave as a legacy for his infant grandson. His grandson is unlikely to be able to listen to or appreciate this material for perhaps 20 years and probably more. We're also concerned about the rapid pace of changing technology and the equipment used to access it.

We are seeking advice on how to best preserve these recordings so that, even if it skips a generation or two, someday someone could come across them and benefit. I have been present for all 85 hours and this material will be a truly remarkable inheritance for whoever finds it and takes the time to mine it.

We've used a Tascam DR-40 recorder and made .wav files, mostly in mono using the built-in mics, although we did a few hours in stereo using two lapel mics. I'm looking for good advice expressed in simple terms.

Hi @jjeffh, what you are doing is beautiful. You mentioned that you've come up with .wav files from the Tascam DR-40, which is a good device for recording.

WAV audio format has been around and has been one of the industry standards in audio production/post-production for films, TV, radio, etc, and it seems that will be the case in the foreseeable future.

As for your needs, if you'd like to make some edits to the recorded content, and/or break it down to shorter files/chapters, WavePad should help you do that. You may check it out through this link https://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/index.html

For archiving, it would be best to keep an original copy of those 85-hours worth of material into a secure drive, or perhaps a cloud storage service so that it will always be accessible.

When I set Beat Maker tempo to 60 (assuming 60 bpm), and then set the beats per bar to 6, I would expect the end of the 1st bar to be at 6 secs, right? Instead, it is at 4 sec.  Is this a bug or is  there something I'm missing here?  I thought perhaps it was a bug in my old version (6.21), but I downloaded the most recent version (7.32), and the problem was the same.

Hi, I tried to recreate this concern you encountered and from my end, everything worked as it should.

A project which runs at 60 bpm in 4/4 time signature should have its second measure to commence right at around the four second mark. It shows in this screenshot (captured just right before the downbeat of the second bar) that measure 1's last beat ends just right at the downbeat of measure 2.

In your case, it's possible that the cursor was not set at the actual beginning of the project.

Hi, based on your description, it sounds like WavePad was set to be the default program to open such files. You should be able to change this by going to Windows > Settings >  Apps > Default Apps.

You may set your default apps as you please, or you may reset it by clicking the "Reset to the Microsoft recommended defaults" button.
