    Hi

    Wavepad 16.28

Editing a wave audio (exported by videopad: Timeline -> audio track -> Edit with WavePad, for example) I can select a portion where someone speaks and apply sound effects like "Big Guy" and it's ok, But when I try "Anonymous effect" the audio preview inside the effect setup page is ok but the "Apply" button doesn't change anything.

    Wav file remains the same.

    It's a bug or I skipped something?

    Thank you

    Matteo

    Hi!

You may open a support ticket through this link https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html if you need immediate and direct assistance.

Once you open a support ticket there, you will be asked to send over the WavePad project you are working on, this is so we can try it on our end.

    Stay safe!

Can you download a YouTube clip and edit it on wavepad?

Hi! If you wish to edit only the audio portion of the video clip to be downloaded, you may do it on WavePad.

However, you will need a third-party software/website to download YouTube videos before you can import them onto WavePad (if you wish to edit the audio), and/or VideoPad (if you wish to edit both the audio and video).

Please let us know if there is anything else that we can assist you with. Thank you for your continuous support.

I am trying to use mixpad on iphone and playback what I have edited. I can hear the music with headphones but want it to play on speakerphone. What do I need to do? When I take headphones off I only hear the music in the phone earpiece not through speakerphone.

    thanks

    Hi!

In this case, you may need to restart your phone, as it may be playing through the phone's earpiece (and not through the loudspeakers) because it may be detecting that you are still in a phone call.

Restart your phone and re-open the program. Let us know if this addresses your concern. Keep in touch!

I am not an audiophile. I use the home version of Wave Pad for the rare times I need to edit some audio files. My current issue is that, as a hospice volunteer, I've recently recorded 85 hours of a patient's life story which he wishes to leave as a legacy for his infant grandson. His grandson is unlikely to be able to listen to or appreciate this material for perhaps 20 years and probably more. We're also concerned about the rapid pace of changing technology and the equipment used to access it.

We are seeking advice on how to best preserve these recordings so that, even if it skips a generation or two, someday someone could come across them and benefit. I have been present for all 85 hours and this material will be a truly remarkable inheritance for whoever finds it and takes the time to mine it.

We've used a Tascam DR-40 recorder and made .wav files, mostly in mono using the built-in mics, although we did a few hours in stereo using two lapel mics. I'm looking for good advice expressed in simple terms.

Hi @octuslimb, there's a similar thread for this inquiry. Please allow me to quote the suggestion from that topic.

"You mentioned that you've come up with .wav files from the Tascam DR-40, which is a good device for recording.

WAV audio format has been around and has been one of the industry standards in audio production/post-production for films, TV, radio, etc, and it seems that will be the case in the foreseeable future.

As for your needs, if you'd like to make some edits to the recorded content, and/or break it down to shorter files/chapters, WavePad should help you do that. You may check it out through this link https://www.nch.com.au/wavepad/index.html

For archiving, it would be best to keep an original copy of those 85-hours worth of material into a secure drive, or perhaps a cloud storage service so that it will always be accessible."

It would also be best to save the recorded files onto an external hard drive to ensure that they are always kept in a safe storage device.

For some reason when I am recording spoken word thru My mike it is a flat line No wave at all. When I import a track Like a song from My library the wave is there. but when I do My voice recording it is a flat like. Please help thanks in advance.

    Hi,

If the waveform looks like a a flat line, it would suggest that the program is not hearing any audio signal from your microphone.

Moving forward, can you confirm if the recordings you have have audio data in them, or are they completely silent?

    Keep in touch. Stay safe!

    Hi!

You may refer to this short video tutorial on how to record <https://youtu.be/Um3RySWgeF8>

Are you using an external microphone and/or an audio interface?

Hi Mix pad -users -I have recorded a track in Mono mode using a UPhoria USB speaker connection (external connection via usb) it records fine -but then i try to play it back but wont play -I have to pull out the usb connection to Uphoria -can you please tell me what I have to change so I can then add a 2nd track while listening to the first track laid down

I can do it using another program but cant seem to find what I need to change in MixPad

    Hi Jaffer!

On MixPad, kindly go to preferences/options > General > Audio Playback > Select the proper audio device (internal speakers, headphones, or others if you are using another audio interface).

    Once set, restart the program.

Let us know if this addresses your concern. Keep in touch!

  11. Hi!

Kindly send us the exported audio file from MixPad wherein the paste mix plays on the left channel only.

You may upload the files on a cloud storage service (Google Drive/DropBox/WeTransfer/etc.) of your choice then please send us the transfer link so that we may be able to access the files.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

  12. Hi,

As of WavePad v12.74 for MacOS, adding custom shortcuts are available under WavePad > Preferences > Keys > Add

You may refer to the attached screenshot. Please make sure that you are running the most recent version of WavePad so that we may be able to provide you with the most accurate support possible.

  13. Hi,

At the moment, the default metering bar on WavePad (even on the latest versions) is as such (refer to the attached screenshot), because this db range is mostly already enough for most use cases.

Moving forward, if you need to monitor noise floor levels that are beyond the given metering bar range, you may consider looking up mastering plugins that would offer a wider range of metering. For as long as they are in the traditional VST format, they should be compatible with NCH WavePad.

Whenever I try to record a video the sound isn't recording with it. I really need help with this soon.

Hi, could you further clarify what kind of video are you recording? What kind of project are you working on?

Please note that WavePad is designed to record audio signals that run through a microphone. On its own, it cannot record video and audio at the same time.

How do you add a wavy ‘fall off’ to a note ? ( a wavy gliss will only work if connecting to a following note )

    Dave

    Hi Dave,

Other than the gliss options which are already available in the current releases of Crescendo (refer to the attached screenshot), Screen Shot 2021-08-09 at 6.35.47 AM.png

You may also use the Acciaccatura/Appoggiatura tools which can be found when you right click on a single note > Grace notes

    Hi,

I am trying to record a DJ mix from my Mixer master volume into my Line in on my laptop.

All my mixer settings are correct and running from 'master out' via a phono to 3.5mm jack into my laptop

    https://snaptube.cam/ 9apps

When I try to select stereo mix as a recording device, I hear a horrible stuttering sound that increases in volume.

When I thereafter select line in as recording device, there is no recording processed.

The only type of recording I am able to achieve is when the microphone is selected as the default recording device.

Of course when this was played back......the sound was distorted.

After trying to configure some settings, I am no longer able to hear any playback via Wavepad at all. This includes any existing recordings I have tried to edit.

    Help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi!

Regarding the stuttering, it could be due to a certain piece of hardware not being optimized, or not having enough processing power to handle all tasks at  the same time.

For diagnostic purposes, kindly send us the following information about your machine's hardware. Kindly give out the most details you can to the best of your ability.

    Processor:
    Boot/Storage Drive:
    Memory:

    *FOR EXAMPLE*

    Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-8500B (6 cores, 6 threads)
Boot/Storage Drive: ex. 500 GB NVME SSD
    Memory: 32 GB DDR4 RAM

    ---

Regaring not having ny audio playback anymore, kindly proceed to WavePad > Preferences/Options > Audio > Sound Play Device > Make sure that the proper audio device is selected.

Let us know if this addresses your concern. Keep in touch!

I just bought WavePad 9.24 and found that VBR MP3 files have a much higher bitrate than they used to have. For example: a CD track that I first had in 164 kbps now gets saved in 254kbps, while the source and settings are the same, I think. I did some comparisons and found that the smaller-sized file has been encoded by LAME 3.82. I then made the new WavePad use LAME 3.82, but the problem persists. What’s going on? I was very happy with the smaller files and don’t want these bigger results.

Hi! Kindly send us some sample files you are trying to work on and a screenshot of the exact settings you are using so we can try it on our end.

You may use a cloud storage service (Google Drive/DropBox/WeTransfer/etc.) of your choice then please send us the transfer link so that we may be able to access the files.

Hello everyone, I have been writing a song for a shift mate from work who suddenly passed away. I'm totally the guy who plays guitar not a guitarist nor song writer. I am trying to combine the guitar track and the bass track on wavepad and they are tow seperate recordings. I know I'm not explaining myself proper. i am trying to combine the guitar file nd the bass file together to make one. thanks Medic29223

    HI!

Since you'll be combining two audio tracks so that they can play simultaneously, you will want to use a multi-track software like MixPad.

You can check it out through this link <https://www.nch.com.au/mixpad/index.html>

When a piece of music comprises more than one movement it is convention to restart the bar numbering at the start of each new movement.

Has anyone found a way of doing this?

    Thank you.

    Hi!

At this moment, this feature is not yet available with the current release.

The best workaround would be to create a new Crescendo project and name it with the same work name, but with a different movement.

But we will take this into account when we consider the future features to be implemented in upcoming releases.
