  1. Hi @christianbethel, can you confirm if this happens to all projects/files you try to work on? If so, you may open a support ticket through this link https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html if you need immediate and direct assistance.
  2. Hi @Ricky Gai, you can indeed re-use effects by adding the effects through the "Effects Chain" feature instead of adding them as a standalone effect. You can access the "Effects Chain" option on the same menu level where the basic effects are available.
  3. Hi @rdeblock, for cases like this, you will want to break down the file into several smaller files so that when you burn them onto a CD, they would be separate files and you'd be able to skip from one track to another. You can utilize the bookmark to select the split points, and then use the "Split at Bookmarks" feature which can be accessed under WavePad > Edit tooolbar > Split > Split at Bookmarks. Let us know if this addresses your concern. Keep in touch!
  4. Hi! Your best option for this would be to simply use volume automation which can be accessed with MixPad <https://www.nch.com.au/mixpad/index.html>. You may simply import the audio clip you are working on, and then draw your custom volume automation so that you can customize the levels to your preferred taste. Let us know if this addresses your concern. Keep in touch!
  5. Hi! WavePad does have an auto click/pop removal tool which can be accessed under WavePad > Menu> Tools > Remove Noise > Choose click/poppping options However, please note that if these are naturally occurring clicks/pops (perhaps from mouth noises), the declicking tool may no longer remove this in order to preserve the integrity and natural sound of the recording. Let us know if this addresses your concern. Keep in touch!
  6. Hi! WavePad does have a batch normalizing feature which can be accessed when you use the batch converter. You'd be given the option to set your preferred loudness level. However, setting these levels are to be done manually, and it is currently not possible to reference a specific audio and have all other audio files adhere to that level.
  7. Hi @Sappy, thanks for this input! Yes, this is indeed the method to clear our cache storage that's being taken up by the application. We'd recommend though that projects be backed up first before performing these cache deletions as it could also result in unwanted data loss. Blessings!
  8. Hi there @mannotter, if you have purchased a license for our software in 2016 or later, updates are free for up to six months from the registration date. If you do not wish to upgrade your license, you can use that perpetually. If you decide to upgrade to a newer version after the free six-month period, you will need to pay a fee (at a discounted rate if you have the old registration code from your initial purchase). You can read more about this policy through this link <https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html> under "Problems When Activating/Registering". Let us know if this addresses your concern. Keep in touch!
  9. Hi! We understand that some of you are experiencing concerns with SoundTap. Due to the wide array of hardware drivers for Windows-based laptops, there's a tendency for some models to be not supported at the moment. However, we are continually working on further expanding our array of supported hardware. == If you need immediate and direct assistance, you may head to this link <https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html> to open a support ticket.
  10. Hi @antinomy, We apologize for the inconvenience this may be causing you. Could you specify what MacOS version you are running, and what version you were using before you upgraded to SoundTap v8.05?
  11. Hi @LICRYNO, thanks for reaching out. We'd be happy to help you with the issue you're facing. To better assist you, could you please share the original file and the converted file that's causing the problem? Additionally, let us know the specific settings you used for the conversion. To share the files, you can use a cloud storage service like Google Drive, Dropbox, or WeTransfer, and then provide us with the link for access. A quick tip: It's always a good practice to keep a separate copy of your original files before overwriting them during conversions. This way, you can avoid any potential data loss in case of errors during the process.

  13. Hi! There could be several reasons for this but perhaps we can start with the most common possibilities. Do you receive any error messages when this happens? Does it happen to ALL recordings? You may also want to check out your device's available storage space. Keep in touch. Stay safe!
  14. Hi @GWB5323! What is the file format, duration and size of the files you are trying to import? Do you receive any error messages when you try the operation? Keep in touch. Stay safe!
  15. For further diagnosis, kindly send us a screenshot of your computer's system audio settings and the program’s audio settings, and the program’s software version you are currently running. If you are using any third-party hardware (ex. audio interface), kindly let us know which exact model it is as well. Thank you for your cooperation.
  16. Hi @Pierre281, it would really depend on your goal. Based on your previous replies to this thread, since you won't be making edits to the material, PRISM <https://www.nchsoftware.com/prism/index.html> would be more fitting for your needs.
  17. Hi! For customers who lost their registration codes, this tool <https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html> can be used to recover the codes. If still unsuccessful, it would be best to open a support ticket through this link https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html for immediate and direct assistance.
  18. Hi @Tamutka, you may find this useful as it shows a demonstration of how you can mix two (or more) clips. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbdEjOVTpo0 If you experience any troubles, you may also send to us the audio clips you wish to work on so that we can load them on a MixPad project and prepare a draft project for you. If you'd like to send your files, kindly use a cloud storage service (Google Drive/DropBox/WeTransfer/etc.) of your choice then please send us the transfer link so that we may be able to access the files. Thank you for your cooperation.
  19. Hi @Tamutka, technically, it is possible to combine two audio tracks (as in have them play together at the same time) with the Paste+Mix tool as you have mentioned, however, this does not grant you absolute control because what Paste+Mix does it combine the two audio tracks' frequency data into one audio track. Think of it as merging two audio clips into one. Whereas, when you use a multi-track software like MixPad, the two clips remain individual, and you retain complete control over the original files. It's just in the final output that they are mixed together, but you can always adjust them later on, since they continue to be independent files.
  20. Hi! For this use case, you may want to check out MixPad (https://www.nch.com.au/mixpad/index.html) which allows you to work on multiple audio tracks (not just two).
  21. Hi! We're happy to have you with us today. We hope you're doing well. Kindly send us a screenshot of the export settings you've used (showing 32bit) then the resultant file which saves as 16bit despite using 32bit as the export format. Please use a cloud storage service (Google Drive/DropBox/WeTransfer/etc.) then send us the transfer link so that we may be able to access the files. Also, you may open a support ticket through this link <https://www.nch.com.au/support/index.html> if you need immediate and direct assistance.
  22. Hi! Can you confirm if the notation software you are trying to use is Crescendo from NCH as well, or is it from another developer? NCH Crescendo supports MIDI importing and you can learn more about it through this link <http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/crescendo/win/playback.html> Do let us know if this addresses your concerns.
  23. Hi! Unfortunately, this is not possible, as .MPDP (MixPad project files) are separate files in itself and they are not embedded onto exported WAV files. Moving forward, we recommend that you regularly backup your data and perform routine restores also in order to be sure that you will be always to revert to your old data in the case of an accidental data wipeout on your computer.
  24. Hi, We'd be happy to check out the file for you. Kindly send us the actual audio file you are working on. Please use a cloud storage service (Google Drive/DropBox/WeTransfer/etc.) then send us the transfer link so that we may be able to access the files. Thank you for your cooperation.
  25. Hi @degarb, The option to enable/disable automatic stopping of SoundTap recording is currently no longer available. However, you may check out older versions of the program which may still have this option available. For WIndows: http://www.oldversiondownload.com/oldversions/soundtap-3-00-2016-08-06.exe For MacOS: http://www.oldversiondownload.com/oldversions/soundtap-2-39-2015-12-23(Intel).zip NOTE: After downloading the installer, you will need to DISCONNECT your computer from the internet so that it does not auto-update to a newer version.
