Hi, Please note that the free versions of our programs have usage restrictions especially if you've updated to the newer versions (new restrictions may have been applied). We'd always recommend getting a license to better utilize the program. It comes with free tech support via email as well.

Can you make sure that Debut isn't set to 'Record automatically' under Options>Other? If the issue remains, try reinstalling the program. You may want to contact support for licensing assistance https://www.nch.com.au/support/supportcontact.html

Regardless of the file's origin, you may convert the file format into something supported by using an audio converter such as Switch -

Are you referring to playback within Debut or is it an exported video played via your media player? You could check this path for any traces using the Windows search function once in the folder: C:\ProgramData\NCH Software\ExpressAccounts And remember to enable hidden files because this path is hidden. Just an fyi for similar cases: there'd be no recent updates to the program and issues may occur especially on newer devices/systems. What kind of files are these exactly (audio/video/ formats?)? You could try other files and if the issue is the same, reinstall the program completely but I'd recommend sending a support ticket for licensing purposes: https://www.nch.com.au/support/supportcontact.html -
