  1. Is this the MAC version or Windows? What release? Look at the bottom-left of the window. Share your project. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  2. Submit the project so folks can check out the blur issue.
  3. Video noise reduction is notoriously slow. Sometimes there's a prompt to warn of that. What version is being used? Try different export frame rates. The counter in preview should be at the same place in export. It's unclear what you mean by "take a few frames to become fine again." There's no hesitation in the video here.
  4. There's no mandate to upgrade if things are working well. It's often best to wait a bit, lest quirks be discovered. As in life, nothing is perfect. Newer versions can always be test driven unregistered, to check out features. Just retain the old installer and licensing info.
  5. Handling has changed several times since 7.0x, and that may be the problem. ZOOM should maintain quality. Install this version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Even unlicensed, many features will work, at least for a trial period. If mp4 export balks, try AVI. Load the HD image to the sequence. ZOOM the area. Export at the desired custom setting. You should get the result shown above. You can post a link to images, but direct image insertion has been disabled by the administrators. Upload the image to Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, etc. Copy (share) the URL and paste it into your post here. If using Google Drive, click on GET | COPY, and confirm that it's not RESTRICTED. The screenshot itself won't be posted, but clicking the link will display it.
  6. First thing: install this version. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are current... AMD / ATI users: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Intel users: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx nVidia users: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Update DirectX: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/179113 If that doesn't solve the issue, let us see what you see by sharing the project. This can be private, and it's not difficult. Just follow these steps closely... 7. There may be a communication breakdown here. An HD 1920x1080 image was zoomed to 50% left - that half cut off. Then exported at 960x1080. The original... The result...
  8. Source 2560x1920. Custom export aspect ratio 1280x960.
  9. That's a desirable feature worth a suggestion... https://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html?software=VideoPad The closest to that now is to split the clip into segments and apply an incremental speed change percentage to each. An example... Untitled.mp4 In a complex or lengthy project, consider pre-producing this slowed clip, exporting it, then importng into the main sequence. That approach may lessen the processing load, make for smoother editing and quicken final export.
  10. Something is messed up. Close the program. Then use Windows Explorer (the file manager) to delete all files in these two folders... "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCH Software\Components" "C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming\NCH Software\Components" Reinstall 10.96. Report back. If the issue isn't solved we'll move on to the next suggestion.
  11. Place the insert on the next higher track and use the MOTION effect to position and scale it to the desired size and position. Or try the PICTURE IN PICTURE effect, if available. It will bring up the SCALE effect, will can be used to achieve the same result. Remember that higher tracks take precedence over lower tracks, so if the background image/video is on track one, then the insert must be on track 2 or higher.
  12. Humm...not the case here, after repeated tests. Use this version instead, and you shouldn't have the issue. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info.
  13. There's a little bug there that has been reported. To overcome it, use the left arrow key to toggle back one frame. Then use the right arrow key to toggle to the end frame. Now try your snapshot.
  14. Perhaps this is what you want - which when exported results in a full frame of only the boxed area.
  15. 11.22 (32) is the current release on the VP home page. There's no mandate to install a newer version if the one you have is doing well. Sometimes it best to hold off, in case issues crop up. The latest can always be test driven - licensed or not - to explore features or fixes. Just retain your registration info.
  16. Using the frame buttons as shown above, a dozen placements were right on the frame. Rarely, there was a single-frame offset, requiring a redo. Doesn't seem to be a bug.
  17. Doesn't here, and it was tested at least two-dozen times. Upload the video clip and overlay so it can be tested. Better still, upload the project. 18. Tested both scenarios extensively and could not replicate either. #1 was always dead-on and #2 did not require a click in an open area. For #1, don't paste. That's usually not accurate. Instead, toggle the frame buttons (or arrows) to the desired frame, then right-click the bin clip or click the chevron to the right of the ADD button... Frames.mp4
  19. After the feathering bug is fixed it's likely that a free licensing period will be granted. Takes time. Wait for the green line to complete; seeking and playback should be smooth. Using version 11.22, with a one-hundred-minute clip on the sequence, after fully caching there was no re-caching when the timeline was expanded or contracted. As for 'skipping' - allow VP a few seconds to re-cache after making changes, such as adding effects. Hardware capabilities, project complexity and length all affect caching. You don't specify the other issues in 10.21. Quirks often turn out to be user unfamiliarity. Unlike some other NLE software that is either sold strictly via subscription or is updated yearly for a fee, and maybe with a major patch, frequent Videopad releases incorporate performance enhancements and feature improvements. Considering that rapid upgrade cycle, something may have broken and not been spotted during beta testing. Like the feathering issue. it may be months before a user encounters it. Once confirmed, the fix is usually quick. If you visit other company's forums you may see reports of bugs that don't get fixed until a major patch or new version arrives.
  20. Likely good advice, if not late. Notice the posting date: Nov. 2020.
  21. What version of Videopad is being used? Try this one. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If it still fails, please share the project for analysis. Someone will take a look and come up with a fix. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... 22. Odd. What version of Videopad is being used? Reinstall it. Or try the latest. No need to uninstall. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Share one of your projects and someone here (or privately) will take a look. That way, we can attempt to replicate your issue. Just follow these four steps... 23. In what manner are you importing? Just ADD FILES, or is this a transfer from a device? "Falters" in what way? Any error messages?
  24. Yes, the converted export completed in :16, because it was an mp4, which could be exported losslessly, while MTS files cannot. The MTS export took 2:45. For lengthy, complex projects, the 64-bit incarnation is recommended for 64-bit operating systems. As for those P&Z presets, repeated installs may bring them back. As noted above, the same version may present different 'extras' each time it's installed. This is done for marketing purposes.
  25. Clear cache files prior to loading. And consider upgrading your PC.^_^
