  1. With 8.99 your best bet may be something along these lines... On track 2, draw a OUTSIDE mask, then add the TRANSPARENCY effect. Place the same image on track one and use the BLUR effect. Better still, install the latest release. Even if it's unlicensed, Local Focus may be available during the trial period.
  2. What version? Look at the left-bottom corner of the window. Is it registered/licensed? Try this release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. Report back on your results. If no better, more suggestions will be offered.
  3. Try the Local Focus effect.

  5. Try another PC, if available. And update the driver if necessary.
  6. Thanks for sharing. Here's how it looks here... Hints that it's a local PC issue? For best presentation, apply the Auto Fix effect to both clips and perhaps a .50 Sharpening effect to only the first clip.
  7. A manual search shows the latest for your older video card.. Info and a download link are here. To check the release # of your current driver, type "Control Panel" into the Windows search bar (usually at the bottom-left of the screen). Click View by: chevron at the top-right of the screen if only categories are shown and choose Large Icons. Click Device Manager. Double-click on Display adapters. Double-click on the subfolder that drops down. Click the Driver tab. The driver version is shown there... There's no guarantee that this will change your results, which could not be replicated here.
  8. A nice find. Thanks for sharing. Amazing having that sophisticated technology available to the masses.😄
  9. After testing with a half-dozen projects, not seeing that here. Storyboard display was normal. Confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are current... AMD / ATI users: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Intel users: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx nVidia users: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Update DirectX: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/179113 Remember that SB mode displays only the clips on track 1. And that 11.26 is beta (test) at this time. Please list your PC's specs: CPU/GPU/RAM. If you share your project, we'll take a look at how it does here. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  10. The video was re-encoded to mp4, using a conversion utility. As noted, audio still isn't perfect. But it may suffice for this project. It's been passed along for analysis. Stay tuned to this thread, in case there are discoveries.
  11. Without sophisticated means or a file that has discrete encoded tracks, it's doubtful that they can be separated.
  12. The PM-linked file was considerably cleaner; it doesn't cut out but there are pops. The low bitrate that was captured by your screen capture program may be the problem. Try other settings.
  13. https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-get-help-share-a-screenshot-or-project/#comment-56046 For suggestions, click the chevron at the top-right of the VP window. A box will drop down with that choice.
  14. There's something funky about that file. Instead, use the one linked in the Personal Message to you. Click the envelope at the top-right of this forum to go to PM.
  15. It's unclear what's creating the issue in your Mac version. The suggestion was to place a blank black frame on track one for the entire project. Then place the clips on track two. Whether or not that will succeed is problematic.
  16. Pan & Zoom or Ken Burns effect; they're the same. In some VP versions, there are presets available via a drop-down box. Or program your own P&Z. Adjust the starting box, then click the Select end frame and adjust the ending box. The speed will depend upon the length of the clip. Or use the POSITION or MOTION effects and animate the action. The horizontal distance between keyframes (the dots) determines the speed. Shorter distance = faster. Look here for specifics on animation.. http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/effects_animating.html Record_2022_02_22_16_37_22_341.mp4
  17. Upload the project in its entirety, for a further analysis. Try adding a blank, black background on a lower track. When you submit the bug report include a pointer to the URL of your video. Here's another version to test.

  19. In your case, click Recording tab. Then whatever item has the green checkmark. Click the Properties button (bottom-right). A new window appears. Click the Listen tab. Check the Listen to this device box. Here, it looks like this...
  20. It's the Windows operating system Control Panel. Depending upon what version is in use you should be able to open it by typing "Control Panel" into the Windows search box at the bottom left of the screen. Then <enter>. In Windows 11, click the START button. A box pops up, with "search here..." the top. Type "Control Panel."
  21. When you state "no tone" do you mean no sound during the VHS transfer? If that's the case, try this... Open Control Panel/Sound/Recording tab/Line/Properties/Listen tab/Check 'Listen to this device.'
  22. Clean as a banana in Windows, whether exported mp4 or AVI over no background or a blank on a lower track. Considering this thread, a possible MAC issue. Be sure that the video driver is up to date... AMD / ATI users: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx Intel users: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx nVidia users: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Try this release. If the issue goes away, then the 11.18 version is at fault. In any case, report your findings to NCH... https://www.nch.com.au/software/bug.html?software=VideoPad The cupcake doesn't have a transparent background. The GIF doesn't animate in VP - some, like this one, do...
