  1. The best way to track the down is to see the project, as instructed above.  If no effects are applied then there should be no aspect ratio changes.

But if they effects are used, It may not be necessary to make individual adjustments, as they can be applied simultaneously to multiple clips.

ZOOM, as opposed to CROP, should not stretch.  For example, this is the full-screen original...  image.png

This is the full-screen zoomed corner... image.png  No preset was applied.

  2. The release # can be seen at the left-bottom of the Videopad window.

Registered versions never expire and are good for free updates for six-months.  If all is working well, there's no need to update.  The latest can always be test driven, unlicensed, to see what's new.  Retain your old installer and license key.

Match Monitor displays what the export will look like.  In the EXPORT window it will show image.png

To eliminate black bars on 'cropped' scenes, use the ZOOM effect.

Presets, such as 16:9, will constrain the active area to the chosen aspect ratio, no matter where the box is positioned.

Share your project.  Someone will take a look and come up with suggestions.  The process is easy, and can be private.  Follow these steps closely...

    •     Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left.  Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER.  Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
    •     Upload ---  Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER.    Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file.
    •     Get link --- Get a public link.  Right-click the file and click SHARE. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view"
    •     Share ---     Click COPY LINK | DONE.  Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me.  It won't be shared.

              *    Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES.  Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

As with any editor, there's a learning curve.  Videopad is more fully featured than Movie Maker, but compared to some others, it's relatively easy to navigate.

  3. What are the PC's specs:  GPU/CPU/RAM?

What version of VP is being used?  Try the latest.  For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.  If there's an issue, you can always revert.

Never have run across your issue before.  Does it occur if a single file is loaded, with no effects?

Go to OPTIONS | ADVANCED.  In the GPU section at the bottom click the caret and choose NONE (CPU only).

Please answer the above queries and report results hre.

  4. Right-click in the bin and choose the ClipArt library...  image.png Under ICONS, there are arrows.

In Video Effects overlay area you may also find a Hand Drawn option...  image.png

Sometimes, the software can behave unexpectedly with certain settings.

Does it still occur?  Specifically, what's wrong and at what settings?

  6. Tough to say.  Share the project if you have a minute and we'll take a look.  The process is easy, quick and can be done privately.  Just follow these steps...

  7. Please list the specs of your PC ... CPU/GPU/RAM.

Install the current release.  For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.  If there's an issue, you can always revert.

If there's still an issue, go to OPTIONS | ADVANCED tab and, at the bottom, click the caret to the right of "default" and change it to "None (CPU only)." image.png

    Report back on your results.

  8. It appears that some content is missing?

Restart the program and before loading anything go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files.

The best way to track this down is by sharing the project.  The process is easy, quick and can be done privately.  If it's a big project, back it up first with Save AS, giving it a unique # or name.  Delete some of it, leaving the timeline with content that displays the problem, then follow these steps.  We'll check it out...

  9. A capture utility can be used to record the audio track display, as it plays.  The result can be chromakeyed (green screened) and positioned over the video.

The result looks like this.  Long sequences may have to be broken up as the timeline will compress, which limits the horizontal audio display.  Play around.😊

If you don't want cursor tracking, then a still frame screen grab of the audio track should suffice.

  10. At the position of the cursor (red line) any single or multiple tracks can be split with the SPLIT button.

Note the >.  It leads to sub-menus...   image.png  Check the ones that you want.

The red and blue [   ] brackets that pop on when the top of the cursor is clicked will trim the start and end of the project - all tracks.

  11. Thanks for sharing.  Do this...

Select all clips on track 3

Click the first, hold down <shift> and click the last.

Right-click on any clip and ADD EFFECTS.

Choose ZOOM, set the Left field to 3.0, then click the Replace Effect Chain icon (green check mark) .   image.png

  13. Can't replicate that here.  A white background shouldn't be needed.  Use the Fade Through White transition.

What version of Videopad is being used?  Test the latest.  For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.  If there's an issue, you can always revert.

Share a few images and confirm that it's Fade Through White that you want.  Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, right-click the link and Share.  Copy the result and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum.  When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view.
