  1. There can be a number of causes.  What version of VP is being used?  Look at the left-bottom of the window.

The best way for someone to help is for you to share the project.  It's easy, can be private, and takes only minutes.  Just follow these steps...

    •     Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left.  Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER.  Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
    •     Upload ---  Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER.    Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file.
    •     Get link --- Get a public link.  Right-click the file and click SHARE. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view"
    •     Share ---     Click COPY LINK | DONE.  Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me.  It won't be shared.

              *    Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES.  Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

You can also test the current releaseFor licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.

  2. Let's take a look at the file...

Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, right-click the link and Share.  Copy the result and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum.  When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view.

  3. Glad it worked out.  You might also experiment with adding the snipped image to the text box and setting the scroll there...   image.png

Then apply the ChromaKey, Color Correction and, perhaps, Position effects as desired.  No need for the Motion effect with this method.  Many options.

  4. Just realized that there's no need for the interim graphics program step.  See above.

After snipping the text, open VP and ADD FILE.  It's already saved in the Pictures/Screenshots folder.

To key out the black background with the Chromakey effect just position the pointer over the black area in the preview screen.

It becomes a color picker.  Left-click, and the black will vanish.  Slight adjustments to the intensity slider can be tested.

  5. One convoluted approach...

    1.  In Word compose the text with strikeout - white on black background is best, perhaps a BOLD font

    2.  Copy just the text using Windows snipping tool

    image.png

    3.  In Videopad add the snipped clip - from the PC's Pictures folder - to the overlay track and key out black with the Chromakey (green screen) effect (Settings shown below are a suggestion)

    4.  Add the Motion effect and program a scroll with vertical set to 100 at the beginning and -100 at the end

    image.png

Other effects can be added, as with any other clip.  Try Color Correction or Sharpen, to make the text stand out.

  6. A VPJ file should launch Videopad with the saved project.

What version is being used?  Look at the bottom-left corner of the VP window.  If your copy is has been registered it should indicate that at the top...

image.png   If it's not, register it.  image.png  However, VPJ files should load either way.

If you take a minute to share the project someone here will check it out for you.  Don't simply upload the VPJ, but follow these instructions step-by-step...

    •     Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left.  Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER.  Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.

  7. Go to OPTIONS | ADVANCED and in the bottom Video Processor area change "default" to "None (CPU Only)."

Now try your 2K export, using the H264 (AVC) encoder.

    Three suggestions...

    Export at a lower resolution

Break the lengthy project into exported parts, then assemble those exports for the final

Try an older release.  Ignore any virus warnings.

  8. Default Quality choice isn't always best.  Choose one of the many alternative bitrate presets or input a custom #.

Click the blue Default Quality/Filesize link, then the caret in the Video Quality/Bitrate field to access this drop down...

See if this occurs with the current release.  For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.

  9. What version of VP is being used?  Try this one.  For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.

Also confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are current...  https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html

If the problem persists, the best way to resolve it is to share the project.  The process is easy, quick and can be done privately.

              *    Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES.  Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

  10. For FADE INS it would be necessary to create the fades with the transparency effect, not the image.png.  Then they can be removed in bulk via the above method.

The Replace Effect Chain button acts upon selected clips only, so don't select clips that shouldn't be changed.

It looks as if you're stuck with removing your fade ins individually.

For FADE OUTS, created with the image.png, try the above suggestion.

  11. Use the TRANSPARENCY effect to apply the FADE INS.

Later, if you want to remove them, select all overlays by clicking on the first, then hold down <shift> and click the last.  Or select individually, using <ctrl>.

Click the FX on one of the selected clips, set opacity to 100%, start to finish, then click the Replace Effect Chain button on the toolbar.

    Clipboard01.jpg

The change will affect all selected clips.

To clear FADE OUTS select the clips, click an image.png icon and then choose Apply to All Clips.  Click the NO TRANSITION item.

  12. If a right-click at the split point doesn't offer an UNsplit clip choice, try this...

Copy the edited Sequence 1 clips by selecting them both and pressing <crtl-C>.  Now delete those two clips.

Open a new, blank Sequence 2 by clicking the + sign on the sequence tab.  Use <ctrl-V> to paste the clips that were copied.

Switch back to Sequence 1 on the timeline and position the cursor at the head of the deleted clips.

Above the bin (top-left) click the Sequences tab.  Right-click on Sequence 2 and Place On Sequence at Cursor.

    image.png

    Now it's a single clip.

Alternatively, try programming a TRANSPARENCY effect on the clip to be faded... image.png

If you make a mistake, repeatedly press <ctrl-Z> to to back, step-by-step.

  13. Support may not have the full story.  Some video transparency is supported.  Below, a transparent MOV animation overlaid on flames and exported as mp4.

Transparency will be retained in an aPNG export.  And chromakey (green screen) may also be an option on your Webm file, if it has high contrast .

Let's take a look at your project, per the above instructions.
