  1. There are various approaches, depending upon the result desired.  One way...

Import all birthday clips (for example) to the bin (top-left), then arrange them on the sequence.  Export the sequence.  That creates a file to play in any viewer.

Before exiting, SAVE the sequence for protection and possible further editing.  Saves become a VPJ file, which when opened will restore the sequence in Videopad.

Now do the same for Mom's invitation, etc.  SAVE under a new name.

Alternatively, import all files and create separate sequences for your categories.  Each sequence can be exported individually or en masse via FILE|EXPORT ALL SEQUENCES.

  2. Something certainly is.  SAVE the project, for protection.

As an alternative to the sharing instructions, zip the folder that contains all the source files and the VPJ, assuming that they are all in a single folder.  Then upload and share that zipped folder.

As to the 'hang', first try this...

Close Videopad.  Restart it but do not load the project.  Click OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files.  Now load the project.

If no joy, use this free tool to delete Videopad.  Let it scan the registry, and delete all the entries it finds.

    Then install this release.

For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.  If there's an issue, you can always revert.

    Report back...

  3. Place the finished project on the timeline and let someone check it out.  That's about the only way to determine what's going on.

Sharing is easy, quick and can be private.  Just follow these steps closely...

    •     Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left.  Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER.  Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
    •     Upload ---  Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER.    Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file.
    •     Get link --- Get a public link.  Right-click the file and click SHARE. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view"
    •     Share ---     Click COPY LINK | DONE.  Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me.  It won't be shared.

              *    Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES.  Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

  4. Videopad should handle this type of project very well.  And videos edited in 16.1 will load in later releases...

A saved project can be loaded into an active project via FILE | IMPORT CLIPS FROM ANOTHER PROJECT.  The clips will be added to a new sequence, and can be copied to the active sequence.  Placeholders can also be programmed.  See the ? HELP file.

  5. Thanks for sharing.  No speed or sync issues noted here, using the current release.

However, there's a little bug during some transitions, which tend to hang midway.  It has been reported.

To work around it you might use this release.  Ignore any virus warnings.

No need to uninstall what you're running now.

  6. Can't picture precisely what you are describing, but as set up below (using the Fade In Right transition) it should give the pictured result.

If the problem persists, please follow these steps to share your project.  Someone will check it out and come up with a fix...

    •     Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left.  Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER.  Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.

  7. Certainly shouldn't be the case.  Install this release.  Earlier versions can be over-installed easily.  They are all here.  If you revert, try version 13.09.

  8. Likely a setting.  Never have seen anything like that reported here.

Share a project or file that does this and someone will take a look.  It's easy, can be private, and takes only a few minutes.  Follow this procedure...

  9. Sorry, wrong.  VP doesn't have that functionality.  But you can suggest it...  https://www.nch.com.au/suggestions/index.html?software=VideoPad

That said, right-click the audio clip and Edit With Wavepad (when available).  WP displays the file.  Click Stereo at the bottom of the window and convert to mono.

Exit WP with the X at the top-right.  The file will be placed on the VP timeline.  You can then unlink (if necessary), delete the original and slip the video into place.

To return to stereo, find the mono file in the PC's MUSIC folder and use Wavepad to make it stereo.  Then import into VP.

Here's the free version of Wavepad, which may or may not provide the conversion feature.  Check it out.

  10. The last sequence cannot be deleted.  Create a sequence 2 and you will be able to remove sequence 1.

Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves.  Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite.  From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.

  11. What are your export settings?  Go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files.

Close Videopad, then right-click on the launch file and Run As Administrator.

You may not have this release.  Install it.

Haven't seen that reported here.  Share.  Here's the best way to track down problems.

Please upload your project.  The process is easy, quick and can be done privately.  Just follow these steps...

              *    Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES.  Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

  12. Just click the envelope at the top-right of this forum and message me personally.  No one else will see your work.

Be sure that your project isn't too big for the free space on the server.  If you use Google Drive, change "restricted" to "anyone with link access can view."

Do not simply upload the VPJ file.  Please follow the above steps.

  13. Perhaps that design is intended to prevent an inadvertent SAVE that overwrites the original file, which can easily occur.

Before editing, copy all files to the MUSIC folder.  Then you're protected, and SAVES or SAVE AS will be written to that 'source' folder.

  14. What version of Videopad is being used?  Look at the bottom-left corner of the window.  Update to the latest.  For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.  If there's an issue, you can always revert.

If still no joy, let's take a look.  Someone will solve the problem, which can be caused by editing errors.

  15. When you get to this screen, click the caret to the right of "image file" and choose the optical disk burner...

    image.pngClick to enlarge

An ISO file can be played on Windows PCs.  It's seen as a drive letter, and can be opened in a viewer.  MPC-BE is a good choice.

If the file system of the ISO is examined, you will see VOB files.  They contain the video.  Double-clicking on a VOB should bring up a player.

The ISO can also be used to burn a DVD - with software like Express Burn.

  16. Tough to say without seeing the file.  Share it.

Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, right-click the link and Share.  Copy the result and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum.  When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view.

What version of Videopad is being used?

  17. You put in lots of work into that project.  It takes time to fully cache.  Be patient.  Proxy editing, a common practice, is worth a study...

    See... https://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/26563-proxy-editing/

There's no need for 4K on files 1550 and 1556.  Suggest that the finals of those be reduced to HD.  My guess is that the 1550 is causing the most issues.  When replaced with a downconverted HD mp4 things went much better.

    There are some editing errors...

    Flash frame/s at approximately 14:505
    Black gap at 1:23.135
4:03.662, a very short clip, possible error
    Gap at 4:19.811
Gap at 1:45.127   And a few others in the way effects were ordered.

If the reverse at about 16:00 freezes, pre-produce the reverse.  Then drop in the new clip in normal mode.  Add the efx.

Using Pan & Zoom and Zoom or duplicate effects within the same clip may cause problems.  As an alternative of pan and zoom, try instead animating the Zoom effect.  The fonts need to be smaller to fit the screen.  Also, use as few tracks as possible.  Some small clips can be placed on existing tracks where there's a gap.

VP is non-destructive:  changes made in Videopad won't affect the original files.

Check your PM for the revised project that incorporates the above changes and the HD export.  (The result may not precisely match your efx but you can tweak.)

Use the 64-bit version of the program...  https://www.nchsoftware.com/download/videopadsetup64.exe
