  1. If the old projects were made on VP versions prior to 16.04 there shouldn't be an issue loading them into any VP release. But, as you have seen, projects made with later releases may not be fully compatible. Soon, a new release should solve the problems that you initially noted. Keep an eye out. In the interim, if you need a revised VPJ, as above, send me a personal message via the envelope at the top-right of this forum. gf1x3uncut_rev.vpj
  2. Download the attached VPJ file and double-click it while using VP 16.02. Ignore the prompt that appears when loading your project. Report your results here please. SUF1-2_rev.vpj
  3. If you have created a project with a very recent release that won't open on v16.02, let's see just the VPJ file (don't need the entire project). We may be able to help. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, right-click the link and Share. Copy the result and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view.
  4. Install this release, which is different than the one linked above, and report back whether that made a difference. Ignore any virus warnings. If the project says that it won't load, let us know.
  5. Drop back to this release and report whether it does things better or throws an error that it cannot load. Ignore any virus warning.
  6. See how it does with the version linked above. If it's the same outcome please share the project, as above.
  7. If you want to trim a clip that's in the bin (top-left of the window), right-click on it and COPY. Then click in an open area of the bin and PASTE Clip. Then use the copies to make trims, and place them on the timeline. Don't edit the master clip. Projects can be saved in any VP version, of course, but compatibility between them isn't 100%. It's wise to start and end a project using the same version (or one that's close in time). If VP is started, the OPTIONS | DISK tab, Clear Unused Cache Files is run before loading anything, then the cache will be completely cleared. When using multiple sequences to build a final export it's not necessary to export each. Just begin a new sequence. Then open the Sequences tab in the bin and drop the desired sequences onto the timeline. Finally, export that one new sequence.
  8. What version is being used? Look at the bottom-left corner of the window. Try this one. Ignore any virus warning. Share the project, either here or privately, and we'll find a solution. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. Right-click the file and click SHARE. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  9. Download the attached VPJ, which should work in v16.02. Ignore the warning message. Let us know. helgolandsplit_rev.vpj
  10. Using v16.09 with the H264 encoder, VP quickly exported all sequences, though whether the video is correct can't be determined. MPEG works as well. But it does appear that some users have encountered a bug in the most recent releases. Drop back to this version for now. Ignore any virus warnings. Please report your results here.
  11. Because no one contributing to this thread has submitted their project for analysis, as outlined above, it's tough to tell what's going on. Did you trim the clips in the bin (top-left) prior to placing them on the timeline, or were they trimmed on the TL itself? Suggest now that you install this release, and check back with your results. Ignore any virus warnings.
  12. One track is on the A side of the 2x horizontal split effect, the other is on the B side. A higher track is an 'overlay.'
  13. Please be more specific, and mention the Videopad version # (look at the bottom-right of the window). Install this release and see if anything changes. 15. Can't spot anything amiss in your sample - either in preview or when exported. Confirm that your video driver and Direct-X are up to date... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html Install this release. 16. Suspect this may be an incompatibility between versions, but it will be reported. Drop back to this release. Ignore any virus warnings. And use the attached VPJ file in lieu of your original. Just click though the prompt that pops up during loading. No issues with fades were noted here; adding them to several text files didn't alter what followed. While compatibility between releases is normally good, it's not 100% guaranteed. It's usually best to edit an entire project with the initial version used, or one that was released close to it in time. Laura-Home_TEXT_rev - Copy.vpj
  17. Hard to say, without seeing the project. Share it, just as seen in the links. This can be public or private. Follow these steps closely... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. 18. Tough to pin down without analyzing the project. Suggest that VP be closed then relaunched without loading the project. Go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Then load. This should clear out possible cache corruption.
  19. Adding an effect - unless, perhaps, it's a speed change - won't alter sync. For protection... Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.
  20. Go to OPTIONS | ADVANCED and at the bottom GPU area change to None (CPU Only), and see if that makes a difference. We can't check out your links because they are restricted. Click on SHARE and change them to "anyone with link can view." Be sure that the project has been saved in this manner. Simply uploading the VPJ file is of little use. Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Cache Issues

Use this release. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If there's an issue, you can always revert. If audio and video are linked, as with most video clips, they will stay in sync as edits are made. Share your project and someone will take a look at caching and splitting. It's easy, quick and can be shared privately. Just follow these steps closely... The VPJ File

Don't have a Mac here, but Windows procedures should be very similar. Save AS opens the file manager where you can choose the folder where the VPJ control file is to be saved. After choosing a folder, Videopad remembers the last save location and this will be the default Save AS choice the next time you save. You can change it. What's seen under MEDIA settings refers to something else, not the VPJ. When the VPJ loads it will restore the entire project as it was on the timeline when saved. A VPJ is never added to the media bin or timeline. OPEN FILE is used to load a VPJ project. ADD FILES is for adding video, audio, etc. to the bin, for editing. The caret to the right of the OPEN icon will present a list of recently opened projects. If you do manage to load the project, even if there is no audio, please share it for analysis. Someone here will help solve the problem. Follow these exact steps... 23. See if this accomplishes your goal.

    The VPJ File

The VPJ tells the program what to do. It's never added to the timeline. Before loading the project, go to OPTIONS | DISK tab and Clear Unused Cache Files. Launching a VPJ will open the project in Videopad. Alternatively, with VP already open, click FILE | OPEN PROJECT. Find the VPJ, and click it. Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves. Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite. From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar. If the issue persists, come back here.
