  1. Install this release and report back. If that solves the issue, use that version for now. A newer release will be available shortly, but there's no mandate to update if things are working well. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If there's an issue, you can always revert. When using a master text clip (in the bin) to make multiple changes, duplicate it as many times as needed. Right-click on the clip and COPY. Then right-click in an open area of the bin and PASTE Clip. Dupes will have incremented #s, such as (1), (2), and can be renamed via a right-click. Drop a dupe to the timeline and make text changes. which will also affect the bin clip. Leave the master as is.
  2. 1-3 are correct. When you click on the revised VPJ linked above it should open version 16.02 with your project. Ignore this... . For now, it's best to create and save projects with that slightly earlier 16.02 release. They should be compatible with later releases. The latest isn't always the best choice, and can always be test driven to see what's new. If you have created other projects with the more recent releases, post their VPJ file here, as you did with your current effort. Default for the GPU setting is best, unless you find that None (CPU Only) works better for you. Feel free to upload and share the project, per the step-by-step above instructions, and we'll check it out.
  3. A revised VPJ file is attached. Download it and double-click to load your project in v16.02 - the one most recently linked above. Ignore the warning - just "load anyway." Projects made with the very latest releases are not compatible with earlier versions. Those made with earlier versions should be good in later releases. Fixes for the issues that you are having should be resolved in time. In the interim, v16.02 should do the job. You tried the None (CPU Only) option change? Don't use it if it doesn't help. 4. Interesting. It's a fair bet that this release will solve it. If your project won't load, upload just the VPJ file and link it here. But before you take that step go to OPTIONS | ADVANCED tab. In the GPU section at the bottom choose None (CPU only). Restart Videopad. Also confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are current... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html If no joy with either suggestion, please share the project. The process is easy, quick and can be done privately. Just follow these steps... Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left. Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER. Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER. Upload --- Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER. Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file. Get link --- Get a public link. Right-click the file and click SHARE. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view" Share --- Click COPY LINK | DONE. Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me. It won't be shared. * Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  5. Your theory may be correct. The file appears to have a problem Another video editor crashes when an export is attempted. Review OBS settings for alternatives. Transcode your file/s in Handbrake. That will fix them. See your personal message; click the envelope at the top-right of this forum.
  6. The link requirement was put into effect years ago owing to abuse issues. Install this beta release, which should solve those issues. If not, report back. Shortly, a newer version will be released, but it's never necessary to upgrade if things are working well. For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date. After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee is required in order to register the newest. Retain your old install file and registration info. If there's an issue, you can always revert.
  8. Version 16.08 has issues For now, use this release, a 64-bit version where the stabilizer works normally. Or try the 32-bit Beta.
  9. Upload a file or two for testing. We'll check it out. Upload the file/s to a free server, such as Google Drive or MS OneDrive, right-click the link and Share. Copy the result and paste it here or to me in a Private Message via the mail envelope in the top-right corner of this forum. When using Google Drive, if necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with link can view. Prior to starting a new project, open VP and go to OPTIONS | DISK tab. Clear Unused Cache Files, then begin editing.
  10. Good to know. There's never a mandate to update, if things are working well. But newer releases can always be test driven. Be aware that projects created with version 13 may not be compatible with earlier releases.
  11. For now, suggest using this version. Ignore any virus messages. A few weeks from now, try the newest. Of course, there's no mandate to upgrade if things are going well, and newer versions can always be test driven. Projects created in the most recent releases may not be compatible with older versions. If issues persist come back here with specifics.
  12. Press the PAUSE button || (bottom-left) to momentarily stop recording. Press it again to resume. To make a fix, slide the bar to the cut point, then hold down the left mouse button while parked on the cursor and swipe right, to make a selection. Press DEL on the keyboard. The selection is deleted. Press the RECORD button to resume from that point. Made a mistake? Press <ctrl-Z> (or Edit | Undo) to go back, step-by-step.
  13. Can't spot a problem with your project here, using this release. Please install it, and report your results. Suggest that you ignore the FX on the bin clip.
  14. Don't recall ever seeing the FX (effects) symbol on a bin clip. As for the frame to be used for the bin thumbnail ... did you Save AS after selecting it? If the original VPJ is reloaded, then the original frame will be seen. Your system is capable. Confirm that the video driver and Direct-X are current... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html Also test whether changing the setting under OPTIONS | ADVANCED | GPU to None (CPU only) makes a difference. You must restart VP after making the change. Are you now using version 16.02? Share your project and someone will look it over. Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.
  15. If the old projects were made on VP versions prior to 16.04 there shouldn't be an issue loading them into any VP release. But, as you have seen, projects made with later releases may not be fully compatible. Soon, a new release should solve the problems that you initially noted. Keep an eye out. In the interim, if you need a revised VPJ, as above, send me a personal message via the envelope at the top-right of this forum. gf1x3uncut_rev.vpj
  16. Download the attached VPJ file and double-click it while using VP 16.02. Ignore the prompt that appears when loading your project. Report your results here please. SUF1-2_rev.vpj
  17. If you have created a project with a very recent release that won't open on v16.02, let's see just the VPJ file (don't need the entire project). We may be able to help.
  18. Install this release, which is different than the one linked above, and report back whether that made a difference. Ignore any virus warnings. If the project says that it won't load, let us know.
  19. Drop back to this release and report whether it does things better or throws an error that it cannot load. Ignore any virus warning.
  20. See how it does with the version linked above. If it's the same outcome please share the project, as above.
  21. If you want to trim a clip that's in the bin (top-left of the window), right-click on it and COPY. Then click in an open area of the bin and PASTE Clip. Then use the copies to make trims, and place them on the timeline. Don't edit the master clip. Projects can be saved in any VP version, of course, but compatibility between them isn't 100%. It's wise to start and end a project using the same version (or one that's close in time). If VP is started, the OPTIONS | DISK tab, Clear Unused Cache Files is run before loading anything, then the cache will be completely cleared. When using multiple sequences to build a final export it's not necessary to export each. Just begin a new sequence. Then open the Sequences tab in the bin and drop the desired sequences onto the timeline. Finally, export that one new sequence.
  22. What version is being used? Look at the bottom-left corner of the window. Try this one. Ignore any virus warning. Share the project, either here or privately, and we'll find a solution.
  23. Download the attached VPJ, which should work in v16.02. Ignore the warning message. Let us know. helgolandsplit_rev.vpj
  24. Using v16.09 with the H264 encoder, VP quickly exported all sequences, though whether the video is correct can't be determined. MPEG works as well. But it does appear that some users have encountered a bug in the most recent releases. Drop back to this version for now. Ignore any virus warnings. Please report your results here.
  25. Because no one contributing to this thread has submitted their project for analysis, as outlined above, it's tough to tell what's going on. Did you trim the clips in the bin (top-left) prior to placing them on the timeline, or were they trimmed on the TL itself? Suggest now that you install this release, and check back with your results. Ignore any virus warnings.
