  1. Drop the png on a track that's above the background (it's an overlay). Click on the "FX" icon in the png's track to bring it up in the effects window. Click ADD EFFECT, choose and configure one or more to your needs. SAVE.
  2. But of course. Why not simply test it? http://hevanet.com/hb/png.mp4
  3. A succession of still frames in WMP, but flawless (no 1:18 glitch/no sync problems) in Media Player Classic - Home Cinema.
  4. On your short clip (:16), just before it freezes, I hear a very slight audio blip. On the long clip - no blip - and it freezes with "snow" which I assume is intentional. Perhaps I am missing the point... Expand the timeline and be sure that there's no extra audio after the intended clip. Add a blank frame to the end of the production/s and see if that helps.
  5. That's a handy feature, but for those who don't want it perhaps the developers can be persuaded to allow the user to toggle it on/off in OPTIONS.
  6. Video editing is resource intensive, and it's possible that your PC cannot keep up. List its CPU, memory and video specs here. You might also try recording in a different audio format. Some versions of Mp3 have been known to be problematic in some editing software.
  7. Perhaps you can upload one of those "freezing" shots? As for the audio problem, try choosing a different encoding on the recorder/camera, if the option exists.
  8. Click the "speaker" icon at the left of the audio track/s.
  9. If this is a short piece, upload it to DROPBOX, Google DRIVE or the like, share it and link it here, so folks can give it a test on their players.
  10. I'll hazard a guess that's it's the Mp3 (layer 2) audio that is tripping VP up. Likely codec related. When rerecorded at Mp3 (layer 3 / 160 bits) and dropped onto the timeline to replace the original, it played fine in VP. 6.7 seconds run time for both A/V. When the new sequence was exported, and that AVI was loaded into VP it played as seen here - http://hevanet.com/hb/pixel.avi
  11. Upload one or two of these clips to DROPBOX, Google DRIVE or the like, make it public and link it here.
  12. Tough in VP to repair a shot that's so marginal. Still, you might fiddle with the BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST/GAMMA and the SATURATION effect settings to achieve slight improvement. http://hevanet.com/hb/test.avi
  13. Hummm. I see the same GROUP/UNGROUP right-click choices using <ctfl> or <shift> in 4.08, when dealing with one video and one unrelated audio clip.
  14. VP has no problem in W8.1, so that's not likely the issue. What happens if you FIRST drag a clip to the timeline (or right-click|place on timeline), without first editing it? Is the entire clip transferred? If so, that would hint that your prior method of editing prior to placing on the timeline was not performed correctly? Confusion can arise when later VP versions operate somewhat differently than their predecessors.
  15. Once A/V are aligned, take care in how splits are made, to help preserve sync... Click the arrow to the right of the SPLIT icon and note the many choices. Also, multiple tracks can be selected so - in some instances - the action taken will affect them all.
  16. These links will help to familiarize you with VP, though there may be slight differences between their explanations and the version that you use... http://www.nchsoftwa...d/tutorial.html http://help.nchsoftw...ad/mac/help.pdf One way to save a portion of a clip would be to cut it out to create a separate clip, using splits at head and end of the desired video, then copy that clip with <cntl-C>. Open a new sequence by clicking the + sign to the right of the sequence tab, and paste <ctrl-v>. Or paste it into a separate video timeline in the original sequence. If a codec is missing from the install file, to fetch it you will have to tie that PC to the Net. It might be worthwhile to check for an updated video driver from the chip or card manufacturer's WEBsite. If problems arise after install, roll back to the prior driver via CONTROL PANEL|DEVICE MGR|VIDEO ADAPTERS|<your adapter name>|DRIVERS tab.
  17. One workaround might be to capture the individual tracks, using an app like NCH Wavepad, then drop those tracks into Videopad.
  18. You can select a portion of the video and copy it (ctrl-C), then paste it elsewhere (ctrl-V). As for audio levels, click the audio track and it will appear graphically in the (sequence) preview window. Drag the blue horizontal line in the center of the display up (louder) or down (softer). This creates keyframes (the squares). See the ? HELP FILES for more info. There are also tutorials on line. Search for "videopad tutorials" videos.

    Combine Clips?

Are you aware that the TIMELINE display can be expanded? Use the slider at the bottom right hand corner of the window.
  20. Clear the CACHE, under the OPTIONS menu. If no joy, try a reinstall. You might also investigate whether the supplier of your video adapter has a newer driver available to download. If problems arise, roll back to the prior driver via CONTROL PANEL|DEVICE MGR|VIDEO ADAPTERS|<your adapter name>|DRIVERS tab.
  21. Select two or more clips and click the arrow to the right of VIDEO EFFECTS. Choose an effect - scale, for example. An APPLY TO ALL choice appears... Indeed, the scale effect has been added to the effects list for all clips, but no opportunity was given to adjust scale, affecting all clips simultaneously. If this the behavioral intent of APPLY TO ALL it seems to have no useful purpose?
  22. If you do tweak a clip to your satisfaction using the VIDEO EFFECTS tools, you can save those settings... FILE menu|SAVE EFFECT CHAIN TO FILE. To apply to another clip, In the VIDEO EFFECTS window click FILE|LOAD EFFECT CHAIN FROM FILE.
  23. Fiddle with the many options for the BATCH EDITOR, under the TOOLS menu. After making a choice on each screen, click NEXT. When you reach the effects screen, select an effect (if desired) from the list at the left, then use the green arrow to move it to right side. Select that effect and click the bottom-right icon to set its parameters.. If no parameters are available for the effect, the icon won't be active. Final step, click the box to import the project to a folder. The processed clips will appear under the VIDEO FILES tab, and can be dropped into the timeline.
  24. For YouTube? https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/72431?hl=en
  25. Is the audio track MUTED, or is the volume slider fully to the left? Is the track collapsed (click the far-left arrow), though it should still display a waveform? Can you upload a file to a server and link the URL here, so it can be examined? Have you tried reinstalling Videopad?
