  1. You tried the FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT option? This will store all media files and the VPJ data file for restoration of the project on most any machine.
  2. Download and install the free REVO uninstaller. Run it, and if the option is listed, remove all traces of Videopad. Install the latest (5.20) Videopad version. Report back.
  3. Perhaps what you are seeing is characteristic of the "freeze frame'" mode of transitioning. When unedited clips (no trimming) are used in this mode the FROM clip will begin to fade out a the start point of the transition, then freeze midway. At the same time, the TO clip will fade in while frozen, then begin its action at the midpoint. This occurs because there is no excess video at the end of the FROM clip or at the head of the TO clip. To avoid a freeze, use the "overlap" mode instead, which can be chosen under OPTIONS|EDITING tab. Click on the chevron to the right of the "video clip transitioning" field. Be aware that this mode will shift the clips slightly, which could affect synchronization to other clips, especially audio. The "ask me" choice in the options window will cause VP to prompt for these two modes when adding some transitions.
  4. With your project fully loaded, please click FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT. Zip the results and upload to DropBox, Google Drive, MS OneDrive or the link. Make the link public and post it here for others to test.

    Track effects

Perhaps not precisely what you have in mind, but check this out.

    4:3 clips

Check this out. Be sure that the color of the font contrasts ... a black font won't be seen over a black background.

    4:3 clips

Once the clip has been dropped into the time line, open the effects window (click the FX icon or EFFECTS in the toolbar) and experiment with the positioning and scale effects.
  8. Three Mp4 1920 x 1080 video file exports were run on your file... 1. OPTIONS|CLEAR CACHE ON EXIT turned off 2. Turned ON but with no exit 3. Turned ON after exit In each case the CLEAR...WHEN CACHE EXCEEDS 3000 box was checked. All dissolves appeared in each test and no cuts to black were seen.
  9. If you zip that portion, and upload it with a public link here, as suggested above, others will look at it as well.
  10. Hold down <shift> while dragging the trailing edge and see if that does what you want.
  11. Select (highlight) the tracks where video is to be excised, by holding down <ctrl> while clicking. Then delete (ripple).
  12. There are five dots on the line separating the media bin from the preview window. Drag them to the right. Similar dots separate preview from the time line. Drag them downwards.
  13. See the sticky post, at the top of this forum, "Tips Getting Help On This Forum" for instructions on attaching stills. For videos, upload them to Dropbox, Google Drive, MS OneDrive or the like. Make them public and post the link here.
  14. Related info. Also, clear the unused cache files, under OPTIONS|DISK, to eliminate possible corruption there.
  15. If you can isolate a small segment of your project in which the issue occurs, please upload it. One method would be to SPLIT out that area and delete the rest, after using FILE|SAVE AS to back up the project. Click FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT. Upload to Dropbox, Google Drive, MS OneDrive or the like. Make the link public and post it here. Someone will check it out.
  16. Odd. Clear Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS|DISK and see if that helps.
  17. Be sure to back up often, using FILE|SAVE AS (not SAVE), and giving the project an incremental, unique number.
  18. When you edited the project were the files on drive E? Has the letter associated with that drive changed from E to something else?
  19. Not so, unless they have been blocked by your service. Both links are active as of 0600 hours PDT on 10/2/17.
  20. The overlay video appears to be the major cause for the hang. Reasons unknown. A reconstructed project file for download. Unzip, then click on the VPJ file and VP will load it. Preview is still not smooth, but the mp4 render is better. Developers are said to be working actively on preview hesitation concerns.
  21. With the project loaded, click FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT. Zip the result. Upload the zipped file to DropBox, Google Drive, MS OneDrive or the like and make it public. Link it here, and someone will check it out. Try the Windows version first, if the project is large.
  22. Seems that this should be a function of the player itself, not the recording. In VP, a project was created that had audio strictly left (channel 1) and audio strictly right (channel 2). Three exports were made: an mp4 video file; a DVD data disk and a DVD movie disk, and each mirrored that VP layout. Opening any of those files with Windows Media Player (or other player), a single channel was isolated by right-clicking the speaker icon at the right-bottom of the screen and choosing PLAYBACK DEVICES, clicking SPEAKERS, LEVELS, BALANCE, then adjusting the balance to favor only the left or right channel. Most standalone DVD players don't have that capability, but the amplifiers through which they are played may.
  23. From an NCH FAQ... What restrictions apply to the license? "If the license is named as an "Installation License" the main restriction is you need to purchase one license serial number for each computer that the program runs on. Can I move the software or reinstall the software in future? Within reason - yes. As long as the software does not continue to run on the old computer you can install the software on a new computer. As a piracy control measure we do limit the number of installations to 2 times in any 12 month period. Note: we do run an anti-piracy system which can detect multiple installs. But as long as the software (with one serial number) runs on one PC at any one time, you will not have problems."
