Same size, different resolution. Place both on the time line; they will be the same 16:9 in preview and export. If exported at the lower res of the two both images will be 800/450 in size. If exported at the higher of the two, they will be 1920/1080 but the 800/450 image will be fuzzy, because it is lower resolution. Clip default duration (including text) clips is set under OPTIONS|MEDIA tab. The clip in the media bin, when transferred to the time line, will be the same length unless it has been trimmed. Size it by simply dragging the edge of the clip on the time line.

Opacity will work, to vary the extent that the overlay video (higher track) is seen, blended into the background. But results may not be optimal. Experiment. Green screen (chromakey) likely won't, unless the overlay video was expressly shot with a contrasting, solid background color that doesn't appear in the image itself. Often, the background will be green or blue, with care taken to see that the subject wears no clothing that is the same color as the background.

PNG images, with an alpha channel, can be added to a higher VP track. Then apply the transparency effect to blend the face into the mountain range that's on the lower track. If your face is not a PNG, but has a solid background, with no trace of the background color in the face itself, green screen and transparency effects can be employed. Click the FX button on the clip in the time line. Click the large green + sign at the left on the toolbar. Choose GREEN SCREEN. Click in the preview window and an eyedropper will appear. Move the dropper to the unwanted background area and left-click. That will eliminate the background color from the image. See this page for details. Yes, try registering with a different, new name on the French forum. Perhaps that will succeed?? Your original MOV file DID succeed in exporting the effects here so it's not clear why you did not. Perhaps upgrading to a newer version will help. As you know, the 'trial/free' version has limitations that the registered/paid version does not. What's needed is not the completed clip, but the elements - from the time line - from which the clip was made. See instructions above on how to save and upload a portable project.

If you burn a DVD, there will be various filename extensions on the DVD disc. It won't appear on your PC. VOB files are the ones containing the video material. If you burn an image file (essentially a computer file that can be used to burn a DVD) it will have an ISO extension.

If you have used ADD TEXT to create the wording... Click the clip, which will reopen the text editor box. Swipe the text to be changed, then type the new text in the swiped/highlighted area. The change will be reflected above, in the preview window. Again, in the text editor, select the text whose color is to be changed. Then click the box to the right of the font size and pick another color. Click on OK. The text clip in the media bin will change accordingly. If the clip is on the time line, it will be changed there as well.

In the text editor, swipe (highlight) the text. Then click the square that's just to the right of the field that displays the font size. Choose another color, then click on OK.

Either subtitles or text clips can be edited. For the former, click SUBTITLES on the menu bar and, at the left, edit the text. For the latter, don't click ADD TEXT. Instead, click the existing title clip in the media bin, then click on the text box. Edit as needed. No new clip will be created.

If you simply want static text, be sure that NO SCROLLING is chosen in the text editor. But if your goal is to scroll text over a colored background, click ADD OBJECT in the tool bar, click ADD A BLANK CLIP, then click the color box. Place the clip on the time line. To superimpose text click ADD OBJECT|ADD SIMPLE TEXT. Compose. No scroll. Exit the text editor to create the clip and place it on track 2, just above the color background. To animate it - in this case scrolling from the left, stopping, then scrolling off screen... (See keyframes for a tutorial.) Click the FX button on the text clip in the time line, click the green + at the left of the toolbar and choose the POSITION effect. The smaller green + near the middle of the effects window toolbar will add keyframes. Or create them by dragging the blue line in the graph. Once created, a keyframe can be dragged around in the graph. To achieve this effect, the graph will look similar to this... The result will look like this... Note: If prompted to sign in, just X-out. Turn on hardware acceleration, under OPTIONS|EDITING. Then click EXPORT in the top toolbar and choose LOSSLESS VIDEO. This will output an Mp4 in about one second's time.
