  1. Glad it worked out. The developers are aware of it. Give them a few days to fetch the original from the server, should they need to do so. The MTS files were replaced by the mp4s which, in this case, had a slightly different name. Thus, when the project was loaded, VP couldn't resolve those files and prompted for manual intervention. After pointing it to the new files, and deleting those not used in the production (leaving three videos), FILE|SAVE PROJECT updated the vpj control file.
  2. Confusing and frustrating, we know, but hang in there.😣 Video editing is resource intensive: an under-powered PC + large files = tedium at the least and failure at most. VP version 7.11, the latest at this writing, is here. Getting down to basics, what are the PC's specs? What format are the source files, how large (loosely), and at what resolution? How much free space do you have on the cache drive? The path to that drive is listed under OPTIONS|DISK tab|Cache Folder. Considerable free space is required. To clarify terminology... exporting is when a file is created from the content on the timeline. Often, this would be an mp4 at the suggested defaults, but there are numerous formats and encodings available. Exported files usually go to the DOWNLOADS folder. But you can specify the path under Videopad's OPTIONS|EXPORT tab. Look there for your exports. Uploading, a separate operation, is when the exported result is sent to a server (the cloud). While VP has the provision to upload directly to various servers, such as DropBox and YouTube, it's not necessary to use that feature. Sometimes it is better to simply go to the server site and use their uploader instead. It will request a file location. Find your exported file and double-click on it. To share a project so that others can analyze and troubleshoot it, follow these steps... 1. Load the project onto the timeline. Don't export it. 2. Click FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT. That will save all the project files + the vpj control file to a folder that can be copied to a USB (for use on another PC) or uploaded. When the SAVE box comes up, specify where you want it saved. Again DOWNLOADS is a good choice. The result will look something like this: 2019-05-09 15-13-50. 3. Upload that folder to DropBox or the like, share it, and post the shared link here. You can zip the folder if it contains many files. In Windows 10 right-click the newly saved folder, click SEND TO|COMPRESSED (zipped) FOLDER. The result yellow folder will have a .zip extension. Upload the zip. If your uploader asks whether it's a file or folder, try the FILE choice. Exporting is not required. We don't want to see the completed (exported) production, just the project files as you see them on the timeline. Be aware that SAVE PROJECT updates the vpj control file with the timeline's content - to restore the project at a later date. It's always wise to use SAVE PROJECT AS instead, giving the file a unique # or name, to prevent overwriting of an prior vpj file. This is not the same as saving as a portable project. Hope this helps sort things out. An UNinstall of VP via Windows Control Panel|Programs and Features, and install of the latest version may be a good first step.
  3. VP is choking on the MTS files, which appear to have mixed frame rates - if that has a bearing on the issue. After converting those to mp4 all is rosy. Please leave your original project on the server for a few days. The developers may want to check it out.
  4. Certainly should be there. It might be on track one, by itself, or on track two, where it would be superimposed over the track one background. Be sure that the font color isn't the same as a background. Confirm that the scrubber (red line) is within the clip on the timeline.

With your project on the timeline, audio clips can be deleted from the audio track. If a clip is linked to video, first right-click on it and UNlink. If you want to mix the existing audio with a voice track, add narration and place that new track below the existing. Then lower the audio volume of the other track. Click the track's FX icon, then the green + sign, then AMPLIFY. Move the slider to the left. Points at which audio gain goes up or down can be plotted. Animation editor HELP. After completing the changes, upload to YouTube either directly from VP or by making a VIDEO file compatible with YT standards and using their uploader. The HELP file for YT seems to be working. Here's how it reads... You can open the YouTube export dialog via one of the following methods: From the Home Toolbar. Click the Export Video drop down button. Select the YouTube... option. From the Export Toolbar. Select the YouTube button. From the Export tab on the Main Menu. Select the YouTube... option. Once reaching the YouTube export dialog, you can choose assorted settings that will be applied to the exported project. After making your selections click on Create, to being the export and upload process. If required the YouTube Authorization dialog will appear. Login to your YouTube Account, and follow the prompts to allow the application to access your online profile.
  6. 6.03 appears to be the latest release. You should have your original installer file, which can be used to reinstall. If not, here's the zipped installer... https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/vpmaci.zip.
  7. So, it sounds as if you are attempting a direct upload to DropBox or YouTube from VP. Instead, export the project as a VIDEO file, mp4. Then use the DropBox or YouTube uploaders, in lieu of VP. Does that succeed? Try uploading the exported mp4 to MS OneDrive or Google Drive. Again, if you share the project, someone will check it out. http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/
  8. What VP version? Install the latest. If it's been less than six months since purchase upgrades are free. After that time this will be a trial version. Be sure to retain your installer if you purchased.
  9. To where and in what manner are you uploading? After adding the six minutes to your earlier project you state that "it seems to export fine." That would result in the mp4 file that could be uploaded to a server, such as MS OneDrive, Google Drive, YouTube, etc. If this is a YouTube upload, use THEIR uploader for the exported mp4, not the direct loader in Videopad, and see if that gives better results.
  10. Hints that this is not a Videopad issue. Share the final export (that's slow to upload) here, or in a personal message to me, and someone will test an upload to another free server.
  11. Odd. Clear Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS|DISK. Install the latest video driver. https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html
  12. VP v7.11. Not seeing a difference here; both the original and the export are identical in image content - nothing lost - while keeping in mind Nat's statement:
  13. Do another shared upload of a short segment that contains the zoom that isn't working for you - programmed as you want it - and link it here. Someone will scope it out. Simply split-out and delete all but the zoomed clip and several adjacent to it on either side. Makes for a quick save, and then you can reload the full project.
  14. If you have programmed it correctly, using pan and zoom, or set keyframes using zoom, it should zoom smoothly from start to the end point. See Nat's instructions, below. And here's more info on using the animation editor. http://help.nchsoftware.com/help/en/videopad/win/effects_animating.html This is worth looking into... https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html Make the updates, then test your old project again - after first Clearing Unused Cache Files, under OPTIONS|DISK tab.
  15. There's a simple method to port a project. With it on the timeline, click FILE|SAVE AS PORTABLE PROJECT. Save to a USB stick. On the new PC, insert the USB and open the .vpj file, which will load the project. Or open Videopad and click on FILE|OPEN PROJECT. Point to the USB's .vpj file and open it. You don't mention the PC specs - CPU, GPU, RAM, free drive space - but be aware that video editing is resource intensive. Empty the Videopad cache prior to importing a new project. That's done under OPTIONS|DISK tab. Once cached, the material should load more quickly next time. Update the video card to the latest driver. Update Direct-X if necessary. https://www.nch.com.au/kb/10265.html If you share the project, once it's fully loaded, someone will check it out. This is how... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ If it contains sensitive info you can link it to me in a personal message (envelope at the top-right of the forum page).
  16. The link Nat cites lists the logs for older versions. Here's a download page... http://www.oldversiondownload.com/ Scroll down.
  17. Try this link for the v7.03 installer... http://www.oldversiondownload.com/oldversions/videopad-7-03-2019-02-26.exe
  18. As I see it, If the project is created with a 16:9 preview but exported 9:16 it will letterbox or pillarbox scenes as needed to fit the format. Others may disagree. Outputted at 1920x1080, your film's first clip fills the screen while other scenes are vertical. They look good on my 24-inch PC monitor. Your viewing device may allow adjustment to taste. You might also test lower-res 16:9 exports to see how they look on your target device. At that res and aspect ratio, when viewed on a horizontally-held 7-inch tablet, vertically oriented clips filled the screen top-to-bottom, and aspect was correct throughout. Nice presentation. When exported at 9:16 the result was as you described - either a narrow band or pillarboxed. Aspect ratios seemed to be okay. If you want an export that displays larger, vertically, on a phone or tablet, before editing you can right-click the VP preview window and Change Preview Settings to 1080x1920 (9:16). Then crop/position/scale your edits for that display and export at the same setting.
  19. Aspect ratios were good in v7.11, just released. 1920x1080 mp4 at default settings but for a 29.97 frame rate. As a suggestion, tweaked the title for better presentation. Scrolling at that speed doesn't look good - at least not in this instance.

    Exporting video

Actually, the link in the post was to an older version. There have been some issues lately. However, v7.11 has just been released. Give it a try and report results. Bear in mind that it's a trial version and some features will be disabled after that period ... unless you purchased within the past six months. In that case, simply re-register, if need be.

    Exporting video

Please see the thread just above this one: mixing 16x9 and 19x6 videos Try the suggestions and report back.
  22. Two more thoughts... Upload the project, as described above, and someone will check it out. Try THIS version of the program and see if results are better.
  23. What version of Videopad? Paid or 'free?' Common export settings would be 1920x1080 mp4 letterboxed (if the choice is active). Please let us have a look. Upload your project per the instructions here... http://nch.invisionzone.com/topic/23659-tips-for-getting-help-on-this-forum/ Be sure to SAVE PORTABLE PROJECT AS (not project as) If it's sensitive material, you can send a personal message to me with the shared link.
  24. This page should help. There's a support link at the bottom. https://www.nch.com.au/support/reg.html
  25. Humm... check this out. https://www.nchsoftware.com/videopad/kb/1772.html Reinstall VP, or install the latest, as linked above. Let us know.
