  1. When a project is saved to a VPJ file and is later double-clicked to reload, all files should be visible in the bin (media box) exactly as they were when saved.

Be sure that the correct tab is selected - Video Files - Audio Files - or Images.

Save Project File AS routinely, giving it a unique # or name, so as not to overwrite prior saves.  Using Save Project Files (no AS) will overwrite.  From the HOME tab, that choice is available by clicking the caret to the right of the Save Project button on the toolbar.

There are several trim methods.  One is to trim the bin clip.  Move the cursor to the start point and SET START.  Drag it to the end point and SET END.  Then drop it onto the timeline by dragging.  Or right-clickthe clip and choose a placement from the context menu.

The bin clip remains in the bin, but retains the IN/OUT points.   image.png

Another method is to first drop the clip onto the timeline, then trim it there.  The bin clip will be unaffected - no excision.

  2. When you say "software' are you referring to files downloaded from the Net, which then won't open in Videopad?

Do they open in Windows Media Player or other viewer?

Upload one of these files to a free server, such as MS OneDrive or Google Drive, get a shared public (anyone can view) link and paste that here.

    Someone will check it out.

  3. It appears that the most recent 12.11 was released in Oct. '22.

Ask the company here.  A chat feature may be available.

Here is 13.66 for Mac OS X beta.  As this is a test version, the usual caveats apply.

For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.

  4. Each sequence is exported separately, with the option to rename it.   image.png

It's wise to SAVE the overall project (the VPJ file), which may contain more than a single sequence.  Then they can be restored if necessary.

  5. To sort this out, let's see what you're working with.

Take a few minutes to share your project.  The process is easy, quick and can be done privately.  Just follow these steps...

    •     Back up --- With your project on the timeline, click on MENU at the top-left.  Click FILE|BACK UP PROJECT FILES TO FOLDER.  Choose a folder and SELECT FOLDER.
    •     Upload ---  Use a free server - Google Drive, MS OneDrive, etc.* - to upload the saved, numbered FOLDER.    Do NOT upload the individual VPJ or export file.
    •     Get link --- Get a public link.  If using Google Drive click GET SHAREABLE LINK. If necessary change "restricted" to "anyone with the link can view"
    •     Share ---     Click COPY LINK | DONE.  Paste that link here, or click the folder at the top-right of this forum to message it privately to me.  It won't be shared.

              *    Before uploading, right-click the folder, click PROPERTIES.  Look at the File Size to confirm that it's not too big for the free space on the server.

  6. Try this release.  Even as an unregistered trial it should be fully featured for a short time.

For licensed users upgrades are free for up to six months from purchase date.  After that, VP will continue to fully function but a fee will be required in order to register the newest.  Retain your old install file and registration info.

If 10.64 is licensed, try a later release within the six-month from purchase free upgrade period.  Chose the 64-bit flavor.  Find those versions here.  Ignore any virus warnings.

Please report back on whether that version succeeded.

If I stop, then Videopad creates a new file from the start point?

If you STOP, and restart, VP will create a new file from the point at which you stopped.

If I pause, does Videopad continue with the existing file when I press continue (ie Start button again)?

    Yes.

Narration files are shown under the Audio tab.  If the recording is stopped, the clip may be automatically placed on the timeline.  If not, drag it there.  Then drag its right edge to the left to eliminate the unwanted portion.

To continue from that point, close the narration box.  Click in the timeline and use this button to place the cursor at the end of the existing clip...  clip_edge.jpg

The next new clip will begin at that point.  If it does not, drag it to the timeline.  To begin the new clip later, first position the cursor at that point.

Narration files on the timeline can be dragged and trimmed, and are also saved by default to the MUSIC folder on the PC.

  8. New topic, as this is a different issue.

You can install 10.43 on the new PC, but your project may not load if it was created with a newer VP version.  Ignore any virus warnings when downloading.

Is the "dark brownish screen" in the preview window, or only after export?

Please share the project so it can be analyzed.  The process is easy, quick and can be done privately.  Just follow these steps...
